MarineKing lost to IMhorror (Zerg) and MMA didn't forfeit, he lost to TSL.Inori (Protoss).
Basically the qualifiers happened at a period where Terran weren't winning at all, particularly vs. Zerg. Sucks, but there you go. The situation is obviously pretty different right now.

yea awesome combination!
Will be awesome when there's no protoss in the game... Otherwise the protoss bias is kind of annoying me :S. The only thing you can say about ZvP is that it is completely retarded as a whole, but to constantly talk about how broodlord/infestor is OP is just dumb. Also, Artosis mentioned how Leenock beat Hero and Grubby said that it "showed Zerg can win even after losing the whole game". What he didn't say is that Protoss can also win after losing the whole game, via the same mechanism (remember, Hero lost because his army got vortexed by a protoss unit
That's not how vortex works.
If protoss manages to get a vortex; he needs to trap most of the brood lords, have enough archons and hope that the infestors don't have enough energy to throw a thousand infested terran into the vortex.
If zerg neurals the mothership and uses vortex the game is pretty much over.
Right, and the IT being thrown in the vortex is a relatively recent metagame development. For months Protoss was winning a ton of games via archon toilet. Also, it's a lot easier to vortex as Protoss than to neural->vortex as Zerg. Anyway, it's a pointless discussion - the matchup is broken pretty much from minute 9 onwards (it's only ok before that because nothing ever happens as everyone is setting up their economy). There are literally at least 10 interleaved factors that makes the matchup bad. Nerf/buff one and one race will win more often.
This is getting pretty OT, so sorry about that, but I consider Protoss similar to the retribution paladin in WoW arena. For people who haven't played that, the retri paladin was never really balanced for arena - it was either too weak or it was OP (often for short periods after major patches)... Therefore, it was too weak most of the time because that only made a small part of the community mad (paladins are only one class and could have played other specs successfully). Anyway, in my opinion, warpgate, forcefield and colossus make Protoss work a lot like that, i.e. extremely hard to balance. Hope HotS fixes it somehow because Protoss is a lot more important to sc2 than the retri paladin was to WoW arena.
Truly expert analysis. The way Grubby explained it matched perfectly to what I thought in my mind. Miya just needed to sit back, smack up like 15+ Spines on both of his outer bases and just waited for the Protoss to attack. After the fight, he'd have more than enough supply to remax with broodlords.
