Maybe Prime has a sniper for Leenock. If Creator goes by GumiHo, it might force Leenock to come out third (after they try one sniper) since I am not sure anyone else on FXO can handle Creator. But like a lot of GSTL matches, it is likely going to come down to the aces.

when do you consider leenock knowing how to play zvp? i would say, post zvp revolution, creator is 3-0 leenock.

I would say Leenock learned to ZvP in March 2012 when he managed to beat Inca and also beat more than 2 koreans in a row for the first time since the open seasons. the only other time he had a win streak > 2 before that was Alicia, Huk, Huk, naniwa, where none of them are really known for having good PvZ. Plus, immediately after that small win streak he lost 5/7 games to MC between the blizzard cup and code s.
Since March Leenock is 17-14 in ZvP in GSL/GSTL 0-1 vs Creator in Korea 0-4 vs Creator in international
ehh. so maybe creator can still do it. Leenock just seems on fire, lately. This is the time of the year when he seems to just go crazy. I just see anyone having a pretty hard time beating Leenock atm
Creator all-kill incoming! Leenock was super easy peasy for Prime in the past, but I think it was before the queen buff so it may have changed. However Creator is the ultimate beast and FXO always seem like a weak team to me despite their recent team leagues showings.
This will be tough for Prime. Historically Creator and MKP seem to have Leenocks number, but with Leenocks form right now? At first I hoped for a Gumiho-Maru match, as they are two of the most entertaining terrans right now. Though seeing that Gumiho is the starting player I guess I'll have to reconsider that, as I would have to root against Creator...
I remember when Leenock was on that interview show (man I can't remember the name), I asked (the question was chosen) what he thought about people saying he and Gumiho looking alike. I think he was offended or confused hahaha

Recently Leenock doesn't lose to protoss or terran. Prime need a ZvZ sniper and they don't really have one.
Q: In the final meeting against Parting, you got your revenge with a 2-0 win. A: I mentioned this in a MLG interview. I won't lose again against a player that I had just lost to, with the exception of MarineKing. Against other players, if I lost, I would be able to get the win in the next match against them.
nooooo i was looking forward to watching team league in watchable quality for once. I have code s/a pass but dont watch much teamleague but todays match will probably be really good.
I hope Gumiho wins this. His multi-pronged aggression was really cool and is a refreshing break from the normal deathball vs deathball stereotype floating around.

This was the deciding factor for mine as well. If he scans the battlefield during the engagement, the vikings take out the obs and that battle looks very very diffferent.
GuMiho goes for some of his trademark aggression, with hellion/marine drops splashing against the rock-solid defense of Creator. Creator looked on the ropes a few times, but eventually stabilised and moved out with his trademark upgrade advantage. GuMiho's 17 cloaked ghosts looked like they would win the engagement for him, but an observer and warp-ins eventually won the protracted engagement for Creator. Excellent game, contrasting GuMiho's multitask and Creator's safe, solid play.
What an entertaining first match, brilliant play by Gumiho with that crazy multitasking, sad he still lost to the final engagement's 200 zealot warpins...

I think Terrans should experiment more with late game defensive bunkers, with neosteel upgrade and +2 armor.
He over made vikings & ghosts so he had no real ground army, if he had taken out the observer he had cloak for his ghosts so that would have been effective.

Its the classic reinforcement problem. Dead colossus replaced instantly by 15 zealots while terran can only admire his awesome vikings while waiting for reinforcements

Nonono... He had the perfect viking count (10-14), and creator even had 5 or 6 colossus. Also, around 12 ghosts is NOT overmaking ghosts.

I think Creator had 5 Colossus so I dont think he overmade vikings.
somehow I think if Gumiho managed to keep a raven throughout the whole game, he would have won either by mitigating stalker damage to creating artificial walls with auto turret against zealots.

Gumi lost 10-12 ghosts in the space of 2 seconds shortly after the big engagement started when creator's obs came in. Apart from getting some EMP's off they were largely ineffectual.
Watching the free stream, I honestly couldn't tell how good the EMP's were, but sacking your entire ghost count for EMP's is almost never worth it. And definitely not in this case when he had so much supply in Vikings, meaning his MMM army couldn't take proper advantage of the EMP's.

That is one of the problems with ghosts. They are a lot harder to retain compare to Infestors and HTs. You almost always lose all your ghosts in big engagements since they have to be in the frontlines to EMP the casters in the back lines.

okay, looking bad for Lucky here. He won't do any damage with the mutas at all. He should try to keep Creator contained while teching to Hive. I fear Lucky will heavily over-commit here
Both players open with fast 3-base. Creator is very well prepared for Lucky's Mutas, having blink and plenty of cannons set up before the mutas cross the map. Lucky takes a pretty bad engagement near Creator's 3rd just before Creator's 3-base pre-Hive timing. Without infestors, Lucky's banelings cannot connect, and Creator just kinda rolls over him. Decent game if you want to see a safe response to Mutalisks and a good pre-Hive timing, otherwise unremarkable.

tbh apart from leenock FXO zergs are kinda unremarkable, so i'd say even the unreliable TvZ of prime terrans is still favoured
It depends on how confident FXO's Protosses and Terrans are against a prime terran. I feel the terran trio has much better chances against the remaining non-zergs on the FXO bench right now.
i doubt any non-gumiho/leenock/tear player can reliably take a map off the prime starting four; but yeah hrmm GSTL can be very swingy!
seriously.... after watching the last GSL code S casts on either owned.tv or twitch.tv I had happily forgotten how AWFUL gomplayer is(( sigh. just give back the twitch/owned already
Both stay on two base and tech up a bit. Creator opens Stargate, JKS with ling/infestors. JKS takes out a bunch of sentries as Creator tries to take his 3rd. Some relatively sloppy play on both sides ensue, and Creator ends up outmacroing JKS. JKS looks terrible and Creator rolls over him with a straightforward Collosus/Stalker push.

I think Prime just wants to take it easy, they've been streaming a bit lately. So they just told Creator to handle it so they could nap in the benches.
Getting up the colossi-tech while everything else was going on was impressive, but it feels like a bit more focus when attacking with the prism could have won him the game
Maru opens one base tech into hellions, while Tear plays pretty safe with an expansion and a robo. Both of Tear's observers miss a hellion drop in the main while 4 more hellions hit the natural, and he loses 14 probes for it. Tear moves out with the units he has while Maru's banshee pokes Tear's natural. Tear elevators into Maru's main with a Warp Prism, dealing significant damage, but not enough. Maru starts to take a lead in tech and upgrades. A 3-Medivac drop in Tear's main destroys some key tech, while Tear's own Warp Prism backstab doesn't do enough damage. Maru takes out Tear's army while Tear tries to defend his building third. Pretty decent game, some really smart play.

The odd thing is why didn't they do that with creator and one of their first 3 players? They must have known that barring a tear all-kill leenock would likely face a strong prime terran with terran's mapchoice.
Maru starts off with two in-base Barracks and floats them to the low ground, and tries to bunker Leenock's natural to no avail. Maru keeps up the pressure for a bit while building 2 Command Centers at home. Some nice micro plays around, and Leenock's speed kicks in to get rid off all the Marines into a counter-attack. Leenock denies the natural and seems to be in a dominating position. Leenock takes an early Lair behind his contain. Leenock burrows banelings in the natural mineral line before Maru could retake it, and takes out most of the SCVs being transferred there. Leenock keeps up the pressure as Maru tries to take his third. Leenock's Brood Lords seal the deal. Pretty fun, dominating play by Leenock.
Not really that surprising. Creator + terrans only make up 4 players on prime so they needed one of b4, terius, classic, and they may as well use him to tire out leenock before byun +mkp.
Terius is rated a bit lower than Maru, but Leenock has a worse vZ rating, and Terius is comparatively better rated vZ than Maru is, so it evens out. Leenock still at 74.8% though.

Both Zergs open pretty standard. Leenock has a slightly faster lair and goes for Spire, while Terius goes Roach-Infestor. Terius sacrifices a bunch of lings to take out Leenock's third due to Leenock's sudden supply block. Terius is well-prepared at home for the counter-attack, holding his own third with little losses. Leenock's mutalisks aren't very useful, and Terius takes an upgrade lead while Leenock double expands. When Terius moves out to take Leenock's 4th, Leenock backstabs with his Mutalisks. Terius manages to get Hydralisks out, and takes a good engagement in the middle of the map. However, he botches an attack near Leenock's 3rd. Some nice back-and-forth engagements ensue, but Leenock's superior Infestor count begins to give him an edge. This snowballs out of control, and Leenock ends up taking a very close ZvZ! Pretty good game (depite the recommendations poll lol).
TBH leenock was very ahead for quite a long time. Supply count made it look even, but leenock's supply was in infestors while terious' was in roaches and infestors are very supply efficient while roaches are very supply inefficient.

Yeah & we should increase the cast range so infestors don't risk their life so we can have even MORE infestors!!
I think this will allow 6-7 infestors to support armies more effectively.
Why use infestors to support an army? Unless it's more infestors. There really isn't a compelling reason to have anything except for infestors, broodlords, and more infestors.

This would be the best solution to mass infestors, you would only need to have 1 infestor, it would just bank enough energy for infinite infested terrans.

(referring to the recent interview where DK was allegedly unaware that infestors were used in large numbers, rather than 6-7 to support an army)

So FXO wins this with a probability of 41.7%.
While this is a good first approximation I would say that leenock has a higher probability of winning given: - Lately he has been looking much better. - The odds of winning against one is correlated with winning against the other (at least I believe so). - What maps are left compared to what maps they have played on historically? Antiga at least is not possible.

Once you hit about 35-40 infestors, it's almost infinite marines. I mean, I've seen some pros spend all that energy, but it's not easy.
Hmm. One full energy infestor is good for what, 8 marines? So if you've got 40 infestors, that's 320 marines. Plus whatever else you may have. Marines OP man, they need to get nerfed.
Also, I can hear CreatorPrime saying "Guys, don't blow my 3-0 lead. You just have to 2rax Leenock once."

You got some weird housemates. I guess I'm really lucky because my housemate loves cooking and is one of the best cooks I've ever met and he also just starts washing my stuff if he sees it lying around.
He's not messy other than with washing clothes. One of them lives in the basement so I have no idea about him. The other two make the best food you've ever had, I promise ya. They're messy as fuck, though. Doesn't matter much to me, I just don't clean after them.

While I do agree fungals are too weak. Making them like another unit is quite boring. Fungal should stun targets instead of just holding them in place
I'm a total noob, but do terrans ever do medivac-ghost micro the same way protoss do prism-templar micro? Or is there too much going on in the fight to make that possible?

Keen did medivac ghost micro vs squirtle to drop ghosts behind the protoss army to emp the HTs
ByuN messes up his opening build, with a late SCV and a misplaced Command Center, while Leenock goes Hatch-first. Leenock has a great scout, noting ByuN's early double gas. ByuN continues into hellion-banshee while Leenock goes for Mutalisks. ByuN's harrass is shut down pretty well, but Byun's greed also goes relatively unpunished, and his upgrades are far ahead. Leenock's baneling mines are a bit ineffectual and ByuN takes a small supply lead. Leenock backstabs with a huge flock of mutalisks as ByuN moves out. ByuN takes a good engagement in the middle of the map, but the Mutalisks return to clean it up. ByuN trades his 3rd for Leenock's 3rd and 4th while he waits for the Brood Lords to morph. The game quietens down for a bit, but one key engagement sees Leenock's Fungals on the entire army. Pretty standard lategame TvZ, which we've seen a lot.

You have to go on creep or stay in your base!
So you die or you die.
That's TvZ logic for you.
Well it's not like Byun made a huge strategic mistake in that game. He just got a little unlucky with his move out timings, but this is a gamble you have to take against 20+ mutalisks. You play with a clock as terran in that matchup, and you hear every beat of it in your head. Byun played well, but things just worked out for Leenock very well.

Wtf that game was great! Feels like some are a bit butthurt. And im not even a zerg.
By the way, am I the only one feeling weird when they go to give the jacket away? I thought everyone would be standing, screaming and begging the players to GIVE IT TO ME PLZ, but no. Everyone just sitting quiet and not even looking that way like no one cares who gets the awesome FXO jacket. A bit different than it would be in an American or European tournament(/league). Is it the culture or has the jackets been already raffled to a certain person and they just go to hand them over?

Sniper was playing pretty well and in a good position. But decided to attack with infestor/ling instead of going for BLs. I think it was pretty even up to that point. But I guess he didn't like BLs on this map due to size.

MarineKing opens heavy bio like in his game against Sniper on Whirlwind a few days ago. The difference, though, is that Leenock managed to crush MKP's push, and the game spiralled out of control from there. Being MarineKing, it takes a while for the game to finish, so the last few minutes are painful to watch.

Because every single time it is played whoever is casting it (often Tasteless) repeatedly stresses the fact that the 4th base is hard to get for zerg.

Because it's an uncomfortable map for Zergs, you have to switch up your playstyle on Antiga. Also Antiga was a terran-map pre-patch. So there's still some hate leftover back from the times where it had 60-70% win for terran.

Leenock denied MKP's wallin attempt there and left MKP with the choice to take the risk and move out or throw all his pressure timings he had planned out of the window. The latter would've maybe been the better choice, but you need to apply constant pressure on Zerg with Marine/Marauder. Otherwise Zerg gets easily to a composition you can't beat.

I'm pretty sure it had over 60% at one point, when it was just added to the pool. Took Zerg players some time to figure it out. Maybe I'm confusing international stats with Korean stats though.
And none of the non zergs actually picked a zerg in the Ro16 group selections until there were only zergs left. I think that shows how korean pros view the matchups right now. Do you realize who Leenock is? Guy's been legit ever since open season 3. Even to this day, I'd say Leenock retains the title of perhaps the best muta/ling/bling user, or at the very least the best at using burrow.

1-1-1 vs P and khay amu P vs everything come to mind as potential possibilities, but I have no idea
I'm not really a fan of Leenock but he always had his fun style of play, similar to JulyZerg. Also he used lots of bane-mines in the past, sad to see them so rarely now.
He's been legit good before the patch, if you don't know this you didn't watch SC2. Leenock has shown so many interesting plays, that infestor kill squad vs DRG was so amazing... or the games between Jjakji and Leenock.

lol weren't you the same guy that was recognizing DRG as the only good ZvT and disregarding the current generation of ZvT as inferior due to the metagame..?
Do you realize who Leenock is? Guy's been legit ever since open season 3. In fact, around this time last year I would have said he was by far the best ZvT considering he rolled MLG (along with MMA and MVP) and then proceeded to beat MVP again in a bo5 when he was at his best and where he was strongest in the gsl. Even to this day, I'd say Leenock retains the title of perhaps the best muta/ling/bling user, or at the very least the best at using burrow.

with our without queen, with or without queeheheen
And he won against 2 Protoss players going for his title. And his games against GuMiho were actually really good and interesting. Completely different from 90% ZvX we have for last 3 months.
I don't really get the whine about Life. He's either clueless or just a troll.
Sad that Prime had to go, but they came down under Leenock so it's understandable. Maybe we will see another FXO.Kr finals and the first (?) back-to-back GSTL champion?

what do you want from me? I just corrected some wrong statements in that thread. I'm not saying that Leenock or Life are bad players and only winning due to balance changes. But you'll have to admit that Terrans never did well against Zerg after the patch. Terran went from doing terrible to doing ok with an equalisation of winrates to do terrible again right now. In the first months after it, a couple of new builds were brought into the new situation and they brought some wins with them because zerg took some time to adjust to them. But after that adjustment phase everything is looking horrible again and we'll have to wait for the next wave of innovation I guess.

Slayers won back to back I believe Slayers > IM GSTL 2 Slayers > MVP GSTL 3
Well Prime went out with two 4-5 where they were up 4-3 and 4-1 and then lost to the Zerg ace of the opposing team (Symbol and Leenock). They have too few vZ players in their rooster and that's what backfiring hard atm. They try to fix it with the new players Lucy and Ter(r?)a. We'll see how they develope. Prime is in good shape overall, they just have a problem in beating very high end zergs and yeah, that's the problem kinda everyone has. The other teams go for a zvz in that scenario between the zerg aces.

The better players just picked Zerg, you know....
Well actually i would argue, That Leenock and Life had a huge contribution to that stat, they are currently on fire. So its a bit bloated. Not saying Zerg as a race isn't doing well right now. But those two are just on another level currently.
Wooo FXO! Glad that Leenock pulled through! Went to bed last night during Leenock vs. Byun, wasn't sure if he could pull it off. FXO is so reliant on Leenock/Gumiho/Tear... haha. Always one of those 3 stepping up. Hopefully they can get more support from their other players in the future.

That's funny because FXO won the GSTL with an all kill by a terran.
Against a SlayerS team who's former ace just walked out on the team and their 2 aces for the season were contemplating moving to LoL
It's undeniable that they were having many internal problems, but in the end, the fact is that SlayerS was still a very strong team, and their very presence in the finals illustrates that. Not to mention very strong runs in other team leagues as well.

? its pretty bm to stay when the game is completely over. wouldnt u get mad if some guy in a ladder game waited till his last building was about to die to leave? that's about the equivalent to what mkp does

Have you seen MMA vs zerg after patch? It isn't pretty. His multi drop style doesn't really work when you can't contain creep and zergs see your drops very early.

MMA would get run over even worse than MKP, he's got <30% winrate TvZ postpatch lol
hahaha i lvoe this guy
love you too masterkang
cant argue his winrate tvz has been declining a lot but his clutchness as team ace is also indisputable
when was the last time he played as team ace?
when was the last time mkp won as team ace? cause im pretty sure it would be generous to call his winrate as closer <30%. and btw when he did win as team ace he was beating the unanimously established best players in the world (MVP, MC, DRG, sc) so patch or not, he was performing with the best of the best as opposition

we're not talking about MKP's performance here, we're discussing MMA's. He hasn't won a game in GSTL for almost ten months.
Would you still call InCa's performance in PvP indisputable? Or NesTea the best Zerg? That's the timescale we're looking at.
Creator is more clutch than MMA as ace, btw, he's 14-3 as last Prime standing, so if you want to compare MMA to a Prime player, Creator's your man.

Calm down, just because your favourite player has fallen off incredibly badly you don't have to insult others.
Take a look at MarineKing's TLPD.. then look at MMA's. Then look over both again. Past results matter.. but do they matter when you've not even been close to the top in the past 9+ months.. ehm.
The rage and trolling is pretty delicious in this thread. Leenock was better tonight. Regardless of the state of the game Leenock has always been good and people have/will continue to hate on his skills.
