I see no reason to leave them out, it gives you an impression at a glance of the public opinion on what they are excited about, who they want to win and who they think will win.

Sounds good enough for me.
Flash vs. Bogus is obviously the flagship matchup here. Bogus is just crazy good, having gone to Code S ro4 all by himself. I guess that's why most people have predicted him to win so far. I've given up on FPL this round, so I don't feel any pressure for Flash to win, but it still feels a little weird to see him lose. I'm hoping Flash wins, but either way would be cool.
Wooki vs. Dear. I was forced to pay attention to Wooki when he started performing way better than the equally priced Sang (feels bad man). He's been doing amazingly so far and seems like he could soon become considered a top tier Kespa player. However, Dear has been doing similarly well in this round, even though I haven't personally seen him as much. In fact, most people so far have predicted him to beat Wooki, which I find interesting. Wooki's PvP record this round is 3-0; Dear's is 3-1. Both really good players.
Also of note, Flash JUST played a TvT on Antiga against Fantasy, and although it was not his best showing, it wasn't bad, either. He probably learned a lot from that game and will use what he learned tonight.

I agree with this.

Dunno why you would say it like this when Bogus is straight up better than Flash. Sure either can win here but saying "might have a chance" is a bit odd.

I said it because I've only seen ONE game of Bogus yet and even then he lost, despite playing decently well.

The only thing Bogus is better in is wearing glasses. And its pretty close too.
So the usual VLC link has a rerun of yesterday on it. Is the Korean stream linked in the OP working for anyone? I installed the plugin but still no go.

After installing the plugin, you need to click on the LIVE button just above the chat box on the right, then select the broadcast from the list (it's the only one on the list).

flash's starsense lol. he expected an attack from bogus but when nothing came from his front he decided to reposition near the middle so he could reach either side depending on the attack

It just so happens its so much easier to prepare a coinflip 10 minute cheese -_-... If you look at the ratio of kespa players cheesing it must be like 50%, vs almost everyone, not only greedy players.

You realize bogus' starport was built with out even scouting the bottom left, and he didn't send hellions up the ramp, he just retreated after getting shot from the high ground, so he didn't even know about the cc. How is this not a bo win.

Flash goes 14 CC nearly all the time though, so he becomes a bit predictable (he needs to cheese more often in SC2 like against Bisu in BW!).

If he kept that one marine he had in the fog he might have been able to defend it a bit better, who knows?

It's forced cross positions.
Is it? Alright. Bogus didn't scout up ramp either so I don't really see how the other points aren't valid. I apologize for that mistake.

It is a bo win. But I am sorry it was pretty calculated that would work. I mean if you are playing a player who is 14 cc'ing 99% of the time, yeah might want to try and prepare a build to counter it. I mean while it is a bo win, I bet innovation knew he was going to do it before the game even started, hell I sure did.

Am I supposed to have to pay to see this stream? I've watched since the season started without paying and for the first time, I got prompted to pay today. And then I refreshed and the prompt went away. I have no clue.

Their chemistry isn't bad, but I feel like their game knowledge is lacking a little and most of the cast comes across as awkward. But I suppose it's a matter of personal preference, I just don't enjoy it much myself.

i wonder why hyvaa didnt just opt to make another spine, or wall at the nat, what's with the kespa zergs and their reluctance to do that against 1 base low econ zergling baneling all in
man, KT is probably going to be 6-1 this round. no one else on their team other than Flash had any individual league success so far in sc2, no one expected this.

I'm sure this info could be found somewhere but who are these casters? I was wondering because these are not the casters announced in the original thread about the english broadcast. I'm sure it's difficult to cast from the stream and they are doing the best they can.. I don't want to whine excessively but a caster should know for example that one baneling hit doesn't kill drones. Or maybe he knew but stuff came out wrong in the heat of the moment. I don't know. This is practically free so it's fine I guess but I really wish they let DoA cast this thing. He is awesome.

Yeah, and except that match vs CJ that went to ace, assuming Action closes this out, all of their wins would all be 4-0/4-1 stomps. Funny that their only loss is a 0-4.

KT is such a good team. I guess they have good training environment. Because they came to every game so prepared everyone in this team is really good. As I remember from bw days some times they played really bad, however, at the end they are winning every team and just awesome.

Yeah people never learn. Won PL back2back with "Flash and Friends" and people still get surprised KT does well even without flash. KTFlash is sooooooooooooo 08-09 Proleague. It was a time when KT transitioned from being Reach/Yellow's Team to being Flash's team and no one was really good enough to support flash. KT got really solid players but are just somehow I think allergic to the limelight.

KT did badly in the hybrid proleague though, there was actually no reason at all to be sure they would do well. they got ranked so low in that preview because of the fact that none of them other than flash were able to even participate in any individual league, and they were 7th, only ahead of ACE in the previous season.
now that we've been able to see the results of their training, obviously predictions would be different. but before this season started the state of almost all the kespa teams was pretty unknown.

Bigfile MSL, fOrGG and Violet looked really fucking strong
Flash was matched up against each one of them at the ro8 and ro16 while stats was hydrabusted out of the ro16 by Calm.
Was really really REALLY traumatizing for me to behold
Not that really surprising considering Flash being so predictable and every team KT faces tries so hard to snipe him they seem to underestimate the others.

On December 31 2012 17:16 Caihead wrote: blind build order win says nothing about either sides -_-
One pretty disturbing trend that has been occurring in BW and apparently continuing into SC2, is that Flash kept eating shit in early game due to being predictable.
Think back to all the times where Flash got a build order disadvantage and had to play from behind. Compare them to the times where Flash actually got a build order lead in early game, especially in important games and series.
And because it's not BW anymore, Flash can't just say "I'm going to use my superior understanding of the game and top-tier fundamentals to intelligently cut corners and come back to even in mid or late game". It seems like for whatever reason, early game deficits are much harder to overcome.
If he just rolled dice to determine his initial build orders he'd probably start early game off better, and that's kinda sad.

I did say "excluding hybrid league". What to expect when you got to play 2 different games at once? None participating in individual league proves nothing. This is the period of full transition into sc2, some may grasp the game quick, some may not. In the long-run I still have faith in players which has great potential and a team with great effort/preparation/tradition to be better than, say, a bunch of proven-ok Koreans and foreigners

Means something along the lines of being up and sometimes being down but still enjoying the ride. Just like how they ended Round 1 on the bottom before but won the whole thing anyway.
Since Flash as the only KT player has played several matches in other leagues, the opponent teams have a lot more material to study him than the other KT players. I guess that plays a role, too.

I'm not saying EG-TL should have been #1 on that ranking, because of course they shouldn't have. the only thing that would justify picking KT as one of the higher tier kespa teams before this season started is blind faith. I assume the writers would rather use the data on the team and players instead of being fanboys in official previews.

Gateway expand don't counter this build if the Zerg micro right. Actually, nothing prevents the Zerg from getting significantly ahead which means that the map is a technical ZvP freewin, in other words a bad map, unless you enjoy watching mirror mu proleague.

You could just open Gateway expand on this map if people start doing this and the threat of pressure would make this risky...please calm down. Would you rather watch the same metagame/maps we've been playing for over a year every single game?
Yeah, or he could've just cannoned it from the high ground.
Definitely. A Warp Prism on that high ground early might have been able to do something. Either warp in and/or cannons.

lings were on the map when the probe passed the highground expansion, wouldnt have worked
I dont think this is actually that overpowered at all on this map
scout middle for a fast gold expansion at 18food. if its there time a cannon rush so cannons finish 5seconds after hatch pops. GG free win for toss. this should never work vs toss if toss uses a second scouting probe at after 15food

He went past the hatch just as it was building with his scouting probe. He could've just made a pylon and a cannon then, but instead he scouted and died to lings.
The appeal of these outdated maps and watching BW pros flounder with the transition is starting to wear thin. I hope future SPL rounds improve and there is a higher amount of quality matches.

Not taking Action instead of Bisu at the start of the season is one of my 3 big FPL regrets. Hes basically been the best cheap player available and I dont know why I decided on Bisu.
I'm glad these maps offer strategic options like that. Players will need to be wary and prepare counter builds to deal with these abuses. That's what KeSPA maps are all about. I'm pumped for the future of SC2 map making.
So I am actually still not getting the Proleague format. There's six rounds where everyone plays everyone. In what sense do league rankings matter in that? Do points transfer over?

Yes. Based on the final standings seeds are chosen for playoffs.
I keep giving the english casters a chance, but they sound so fake..omg. The proleague deserves a high profile casters its MOTHERFUCK*NG SKT1 vs EG-TL OMG.

The question is whether these high profile casters would move to Korea to focus on proleague.

I preffer a high profile casters casting the stream than not-as-good-casters in place.

I agree, but Kespa doesn't see it that way, apparently. I personally don't see the big purpose of having them in Korea when they aren't being shown on camera.

People were crying about the casters not actually being there when EG/TL took care of streaming. I agree that the casting quality is sub-par, but no matter what they do right now someone will be pissed. I reckon KeSPA wants people in place, though.

I heard them mention something about them getting shown on camera sometime in the future.

Watch it please. Do yourself a favor and watch it.
I watched it and it was boring ling vs bling like most ZvZs...
??? lingbling vs lingbling micro agression makes for the best games of ZvZ, infact, its the most micro intensive early game war, and much more enjoyable than 4gate vs 4gate

Yeah. Don't worry about Flash though. KT is giving the child-labor terran a break.

It's difficult to say who the best player in KT is. Stats is 5-0, Action is 5-1, Wooki is 4-1, and FlaSh is 5-3, but he's played three top tier opponents in a row. My guess is that FlaSh is the best player and remains the ace though.
