The time has come for our forty-fourth IGN Pro League Fight Club! This is a weekly king of the hill showmatch series. Basically, there will be a 1 vs. 1 best of 9 showmatch each and every week, where the winner will earn a $500 prize and a $100 bounty on their head. For example, if a player wins three weeks in a row they will have earned $1,500 and a $300 bounty. If a NEW challenger defeats him, they will earn $500 for the showmatch, take the $300 bounty home, and have a new $100 bounty placed on their head for each week that they win.
When: Sunday, Jan 08 12:00am GMT (GMT+00:00) (we will also broadcast the match repeatedly afterwards!)
Western Wolves Sting has surprised everyone repeatedly in the past month. No one would have called him to win IEM Signapore and he was a hopeless underdog against FXO.Leenock; however, he took down Leenock 5-4 in Fight Club and is the current champion. Can he walk the tightrope again to win 5-4 against Creator?
WW.Sting
Creator.Prime is a multiple champion, but often is overlooked when considering the best Protoss in the world. He's one of the top 5 Protoss in the world, truly fearsome with his gateway play.
I really like IPL fight club. I like the best of 9 format, gives players a chance to pull out the mind games and dust off/try out some unexpected builds.

Also 5-4 will be the final score in either player's favor because Tightrope Terran.

Isn't this the first series of 2013?
No. Leenock beat HyuN and Sting beat Leenock... This is the third...
edit - They called it season 2 of Fight Club when HyuN vs. Leenock was on... Now I'm confused... ~.~

HyuN played on December 10th, and since its 2013 now, he is eligible to play again I believe.

I don't think bringing in the eternal Fight Club champion would be very... Hyunwise.
It's weird. Sting is quite a cheesy player, and reminds me a lot of a Heart. What's weird is that I hated Heart, and somehow I find myself cheering for Sting and his cheesy tactics.
Cloak and scan is so frustrating to watch. It's like, Obs in fight, Obs close enough away to reveal after your first obs dies, and then two more and like 2 Robos to help make more after those die too.
You know, Sting would've looked a LOT better if he was facing someone who isn't called Creator. He really was trying to do some really cool stuff in those matches that would've made him look like a genius if Creator wasn't so immortal.
From the 2013 map qq thread, these are the maps that Tim mentioned that might be added to the map pool.

Its great to see IPL looking into new maps even for Fight Club considering that they are rather conservative with their mappools.

Both are very conservative maps. No real difference in gameplay to e seen from a first glimpse. Both very similar to Daybreak.

I should probably mention that those were maps that I were looking at. We had a nice meeting today with looking through a couple maps. I think we chose a couple of cool ones that have different gameplay compared to the norm. Hopefully we'll have an announcement soon. I'm stoked
