I don't know the reason; I guess Mvp's fans just see it as an affront to legitimacy/consistency/balance/etc of the game and get really defensive about it. You should have seen when Goswser beat him 3-0 in the Iron Squid tourney... (though I might be remembering it much worse than it actually was). Anyway, I hope the LR thread treats it civilly in the event the first game goes Scarlett's way. That's all I'm saying/hoping. 0-3 is a pretty grim score for one of the highest skilled and consistent WoL players against someone who would generally be thought of as a mid-tier foreigner. That shouldn't be construed as an insult to Goswer because he, at least historically, has not been even close to the level of Mvp. 2-3 would be less painful - maybe even 1-3 if the generally better player had a particularly bad day. Mvp's poor health no doubt contributes to a score like that but he's still been remarkably successful despite his condition. Of course, one can't expect the generally better player to win every set all the time. But surely you can see why one of the best WoL players losing a Bo5 - to a mid-tier foreigner - without winning a single game isn't really that encouraging for the game? Judging an individual player's skill in a team league is pretty dumb, so I wouldn't worry if people kick up about Mvp losing the first game. There can be amazing single performances for sure, but I think most reasonable people would agree it's not too hard to drop a single map to decent players. It's only when players, and teams, start losing longer series to generally lesser players that it becomes concerning. That aside, I think Ax-acer might struggle to pull out anything other than a 1-4 result today. LGIM is super stacked and whilst Ax-Acer has several strong individual players, I'm not sure that, as a team, they have a strong enough identity yet to deal with LGIM in a team league context.

Especially because we didn't see him too much at the end of WoL neither. Edit: sorry multi-posts ! Well i did watch ATC yesterday on TB stream, and he won pvp against MaNa(kinda build order win) and than lost pvz to hOpe badly i would say(no offense to hOpe but he aint even in top 10 eu zerg list in most ppl minds)so that would confirm hes pvz weakness plus TB said himself that Alicia is their pvp sniper so its obv hes best match-up.
