Would it be possible to get the match-ups up on the calendar entry? It's not like it's keeping me from watching (or finding out who's playing), but it would be nice.
The most interesting part of this tournament has been how nerves factor into the live stream. So many of these players are ladder beasts, but don't play in a formal tournament environment on stream.

Allows for a high degree of variance in performance.
I love these pre-game faceoff interviews. Online events can often feel like two guys just sitting in a box casting replays, and the interviews add more interest and storyline to the whole thing.

So true. the interviews are making this tournament much more interesting. They should be a staple in all online tournament, as they do somewhat replace the vibe of a offline event. Not to mention they are a great way to know better all ladder heroes that qualified (which is one of the purposes of this tournament).

I feel like Toss will add one more to its ranks in the next round with group D with rsvp, but I am not sure about hellokitty. I missed his WCS performance so I could be talking out of my ass.
Apparently the casters missed that Masa doesn't have stim done. Masa's huge push would have probably done more damage. Stim finished around 15+ minutes.

Anyway, really strong play by Kane, apart from that one engagement.
I feel like you can't do much ultra micro so during battles it is better to spend most of your APM microing other units (such as infestors) to make sure that your ultras can actually hit a stimmed army.

They are remarkably stupid units, clunky too. Strong as hell but you really should just let them do their stuff a fair bit of the time.

Well the few mines he had left before the final counter-attack were pretty much in a useless position where they couldn't even hit Kane's reinforcements. If he had had them with his army, perhaps things would have gone differently.

I am stuck on audio only, as I am in the office for the time being so I have to go with radiocraft. I'll get glimpses of the game but I have to just peek when it sounds super interesting.

Kinda the Naniwa build, with early gateway pressure with core and sentry/zealot, except a bit more all-in and used hallucinated zealots to tank some damage

2 base all-in with hallucination. He only had 5 sentries and alot of hallucinated zealots. then he got the proxy pylon down and started warping in stalkers and zealots
As far as I know, HK has a big reputation as a two base all in player, so why was Suppy so greedy? I just don't get it. Can someone who has a better grasp of PvZ explain?

HK did that 4 sentry warpin and took out the overlord at his 3rd, so Suppy misread it as HK about to take a 3rd.
Even then, he was able to scout it with a ling, but a few weak engagements gave HK the momentum.

Hmmm, so can the four sentries be used as a safety net to take a third in that situation? From what I've seen, they're usually used to just all in (perhaps with a soul train type thing). Just trying to learn here :D

And when Roach speed was done Suppy went do or die for a defense on his third. Looked really good, but then the MsC came in and negated the speed, so blink was effective again. Afterwards to many stalkers survived and the third was lost. If the third would have survived, Kitty would have been done for.

I play Zerg, but I think if they were used to expand, it would have been much more of a signal for Suppy to pressure. You could potentially do it, but with the tech available as toss you would be hard pressed to hold against a Zerg even with just roach/ling.
See sentries, confirm third, sac ovy into main, and check tech make units. That is me though.

That was kind of what I was thinking (Terran here, so who knows that that's worth). It seems like it's a very flimsy defense to take a third off of that many sentries (not enough damage output).
SO they are restarting the game on the other stream, or resuming from replay. They are unsure if it will work with gameheart. Sounded like hellokitty may have done something to Kane's hatch, but I couldn't tell from the screen whether it was a block or what. My Spanish is pretty bad these days.

You can't just base your play on another player's reputation. You have to try to read every situation and play accordingly. If he were to just blindly start making units off 50 drones then he would be behind if HK didn't do some 2base all in.
Anyone just see that Dassault advert? "If we harvest icebergs we can use them for fresh water". The ad died and didn't finish, but i'd just like to let everyone know that mining icebergs would be a really horrible idea. The permafrost relects light and heat out into space, cooling the planet. Mining icebergs for water would multiply the effects of climate change ten fold.

I think he may know a bit too much about Kane to risk the proxy oracle play, not to mention it isn't that good against Zerg. I would be curious to see him play Stargate though it just doesn't seem to be his style. Depending on the map, my guess is DTs next game.

This is oddly straight up for hellokitty. His meta game is not playing cheekily XD. Also he seems to be taking your advice about air. XD, hellokitty not getting air upgrades though.
I've never seen someone beat colossus/void ray with roach/hydra/corrupter. I guess you just need a shit ton of corrupters so the void rays don't melt them.

At the end of the day, it's an opinion. People are free to love them. The last time I checked, opinions aren't facts...
I'm pretty sure that whether a person is introverted or not is indeed a fact (although there are nuances and degrees to it), and whether or not they enjoy one thing or another is again a fact. Asserting something that is both presumptuous and visibly inaccurate, only to back down with "hey that's like my opinion man" is such a petty thing to do.

Anyway, I don't mind the idea of pre-game interviews between the caster/s and an individual player, where a player can smack talk if they're so inclined... but the face-to-face thing doesn't really work for most players.
K, quote more posts that are full of shit to prove your imaginary point please.
Your point was that I was the only one. I am clearly not the only one. What is my imaginary point?
At the end of the day, it's an opinion. People are free to love them. The last time I checked, opinions aren't facts...
I'm pretty sure that whether a person is introverted or not is indeed a fact (although there are nuances and degrees to it), and whether or not they enjoy one thing or another is again a fact. Asserting something that is both presumptuous and visibly inaccurate, only to back down with "hey that's like my opinion man" is such a petty thing to do.
LOL what? I'm reading your responses and the only thing that makes sense to me is that you just assume Beirut and Sated are the same person?
Hm yeah, that was way too easy for suppy, I feel like hellokitty was even more pressed to 2base on this one but ended up getting a third anyway :p (though suppy was pretty well prepared when hellokitty threatened to go all-in, so maybe he just backed down from that and hoped for the best)
Aww Hellokitty lost. =[ I would love it if HelloKitty all-ins his way to victory and creates a stream of haters and fans and drama all across the forums.
For some reason, someone like Suppy doing well seems cool, but not as cool to me.

Next GSL special tournament should feature "top maps from past seasons". I think it would be fun to see some of the old good ones in tournament play again.

lol what makes you think they are all introverted??
Uh wow I came back and my post started a terrible argument, really didn't think I was being inflammatory. I didn't mean that all gamers are introverted obviously, or that they're nerds or geeks or whatever. I'm not like the mean kid in the locker room haha.
I had just watched the interview between Suppy and HelloKitty, read the post I quoted, and remembered this interview (below) with Suppy. I think he describes himself as "shy and antisocial" at around 9:40. Sorry if anyone thought I was being an asshole to all gamers everywhere.. but some people don't see it as a bad thing to be introverted or shy (including myself).
Anyway got off topic - hope Suppy wins this second match. Great performance in Shoutcraft/WCS America would really put him on the map. Needs to clean up his play and stop making these small mistakes. His macro is really impressive though, definitely his strong suit.
You insinuated that being introverted was a bad thing by claiming that it was the reason the interviews were "cringeworthy". Also being "shy and antisocial" has nothing to do with being introverted.
hellokitty has some very interesting ideas for compositions, I'll give him that.

Oh well, it worked =P
the execution was kinda lack luster by hk but hydras vs collosus means that suppy was dead in the water from the start. basically the scouting killed him

*and swarm host play
How is 2 base Colossus bad against Swarm Hosts..?
Oh I just meant you can't really all in vs it but ofc if you open 2base collosus and opponent opens swarm host you don't really look to all in anyway

Because MC has proven he can play macro games aswell, and does all-ins because he wants to win. HelloKitty on the other hand does almost exclusively all-ins from what i've seen.

It's not as straightforward as you think lol. Lots of people shit on MC when he all-ins, and lots of people defended HK for his play here. Does MC tend to have more supporters because he's more popular? Probably. Is it a one-way street on both counts? Hardly. Also, MC's execution tends to be a lot better; in this case one might say that it was more suppy's failure to see all of what was coming that kind of dicked him over than hk's execution (though hk's warp prism micro there wasn't bad).
And not only that, MC is also very much adept at macro games, as Mouzone said. It's weird how lots of people still say that MC is only capable of 2base all-inning when he's extremely solid in longer games. Oftentimes he'll see a weakness and pounce on it more than prepare specifically to go for a blind all-in. And in the end it's the W that counts anyway for all players.

you say that as if all-in is somehow less legit than 'macro game'.

While i don't doubt that he is good because everyone always vouches for him, but the problem is that he doesn't have many results besides being the best player in Mexico which i don't know how much everyone takes for an accomplishment.
