Even if he would already be there, rosters are locked for every round, so he wouldn't be eligible to play anyway.

If there's something I'll never understand its why any team would remove players from their roster. Is there a price per player? What gain do they have taking them off the roster? Wait, do we know if Stephano is removed?

Or maybe it was decided that Stephano will go back to Korea before the rosters got locked.
We should just send Rain out 2nd to improve his record some more.
I checked the stats and in HotS PL Rain is 17-4 80.95% win rate with all 4 losses in PvP. 100% winrate vs T and Z in PL since HotS, this includes wins over Flash, Innovation and Soulkey. God damn what a beast.
I started the day off by watching GSL, continued with WCS America, and now it's time to conclude with EG-TL getting beat up by SKToss. Ah, esports is great.
On June 02 2013 12:18 Slardar wrote: Only 2500 viewers watching this? What's going on T_T...
Everyone is exhausted from staying all for so long watching GSL finals plus WCS AM. I have had like 6 cups of coffee and I am dozing off every moment or so.
yeah, I opted to not watch WCS and watch this instead, I think otherwise I would have required more vespene gas or something, maybe psi energy.
Watching that again, Brown clearly panicked - probably due to a lack of practice against cannon rushes. He didn't try to kill the first cannon, and, more importantly, failed to kill Oz's probe. I don't think he even targeted it once.

Brown tried to fight it by getting stalkers out it looks like, but the proper response is counter cannons if your own I believe.
Almost everytime i switch to proleague (which is not that often considering the hour) there is a pvp going on. Is it really that common or am i just unlucky?

it's very very common. the 2 starters for 8th/STX are Protoss as well.

Oh yes. Perfect since I haven't laddered since like January. haha.
I've been intermittent since just about the end of 2012. I just don't have the time to play, anymore. But, I have a week off this week, so I may log some hours laddering. I had decided not to play HOTS. But I find myself getting sucked in and wanting to keep my hand in, even if only off and on and in the lower leagues. HOTS looks and feels better than WOL.
Parting? I mean Oz already took out Rain who's an incredible player already. I don't like this choice. IDK how good Oz is at the other matchups, but maybe send out Fantasy or a Zerg and then save Parting for ace?

they're playing for map score, why send fantasy third when he's not better than parting. pvp or not, parting can all kill if he plays well today.
phew I was afraid we would finally have a protoss crack the top 5 of aligulac especially with the changes they made to the rating system. Rain was already up to 8 but he pulls through by losing to a protoss 400 points lower than him D:

They should have sent Bisu. It would be completely meta. His PvP is so bad it would have sent Oz into confusion. Oz would then hurt himself in confusion. Oz would faint and be forced to GG.

So... when Parting's units clustered into the mineral line, Oz could've pressed into the mineral line after them, or he could've isolated them in with forcefields and sniped the nexus while the units were stuck out of range, but he couldn't afford to shoot the nexus while taking fire from the units.
Some questionable decision making from Oz but i can understand why he did that. In pvp, the photon overcharge means that the Nexus tanks a lot of the damage which can be annoying when you have a stronger army but half of your units are hitting the nexus.
Cant believe Oz lost that. 5 immortals vs 2... seems like it's just a matter of shift-clicking immortals on immortals/stalkers and then the only thing you need to micro is the archons to make sure they are always stepping on FFs as soon as they are thrown up. Instead he just let his army run get stuck on them and targets the nexus...
On June 02 2013 13:07 Assirra wrote: I won't ever understand pvp, to me it looked like Oz could destroy Parting with the first push.
Oh he could have but he just botched the attacked so hard.
He had 2 Archons which were supposed to be used to break down the forcefields but as you saw there was 1 Archon in the front just attacking and not breaking down forcefields and the other 1 was stuck in the back and not controlled at all so the forcefields parting put down did their job because Oz was just trying to funnel his units in the 1 spot where there wasnt a forcefield as if he had forgotten he had Archons. And the fact that he targeted the nexus while in a (forgot the name) the green circle which slows attack speed and movement while partings units just picked away at oz's units without much effort.

Probes are good vs Immortals and an eco disadvantage is quiet unimportant in PvP if the opponent loses units for it. So Archons would have needed to be pulled back after the Ramp was broken for the Probe pull. Oz should have microed this with 2 groups, so the Archons could go back and force through the middle. Oh well pro gamers and micro.

No more upgrades being removed, thanks If anything, add another upgrade allowing Grav beam to pick up massive (for instance). That would mean the phoenix's are no longer useless if yet another Z tech switch (say to Ultra) comes along.
I'm not saying I don't hate Mutas, btw. I'm a Protoss. We all loathe (mass) Muta. Let's just not balance whine in a LR thread.

If phoenixes come out with the upgrade, 4 phoenix could kill 200 mutas.
or they can just a-move the entire protoss ground army and base wtf kind of bullshit response is that
As a zerg player I feel like all any player needs to do late game TvZ is start massing mines. Eventually you get hits like that and suddenly any game you're behind you get much closer. Its only a matter of time before the zerg gets caught off guard by them. Like those mutas

Lol zvt is so ridiculous. Forget 6-7 mines that cost almost nothing, kills 7-8 100-100 units later on without even knowing it. Then kite 4 300-200 units with a few bio forces.

Overseer can't keep up with the speed of mutas so they're almost always behind anyway.

Presumably marines or other mines took care of it. I really wish something was done about Zerg detection. It feels like Terran and Protoss have significantly better options. Especially now with how cost efficient mines are Zerg need better mobile detection. It takes significantly more work on a zerg's part to keep overseers alive than it does observers, or scans/ravens. Let alone the fact that they also are the supply cap increasing 'thing' of the zergs

People thought Kespa matches were lame then they saw the finals which was a boost? Because most people assumed GSL (ESF) was more entertaining than Proleague which is just Kespa

My point is that it's been this way for weeks. GSL may have increased the crowd, but not by much more because like I said round 5 has had great crowds.

It's all kill. Come on. Fans like the format. It just got compounded by the Kespa v Kespa GSL finals. Some of them probably here to see innovation later.
I feel like those attacks would have been COMPLETELY different with burrow. Why wouldn't you get it for a build like that? Especially considering it's hatch tech and you aren't trying to be particularly efficient in the first place.

Fantasy didn't want to engage, so he moved his medievacs to drop. JYP knew it would happen and had an observer there, so he moved his Stalkers to take out the drop. Fantasy knew JYP knew it would happen and scanned the ledge where the Stalkers would have to intercept.

Wow! What a brilliant game by JYP! Goddamn, that was awesome! Ghost/viking in TvP is honestly a composition that sometimes gives me the feeling that it may be too strong, but JYP's play was so patient and superbly positional there. So awesome.
And boy, funny that Oz won 2 PvPs, Jaedong won a ZvP, and JYP won a PvT. All matchups that they have been famously bad at.
Is it just me or does the crowd at Yongsan look a lot more full tonight? The last crowd shot I saw showed at least quite a few people in the front row?
Exciting match but not very high level, especially from Fantasy. Poor micro, too many Vikings, no strategic plan and bad defensive setup means his army is always dragged around by the opponent.
I have to say I did not expect JYP to win over Fantasy... not in a million years! The same could be said about Jaedong winning versus Parting! Is he back, at last?

It's actually probably his best matchup now considering all the vP and vZ he lost lately including to a bunch of foreigners and getting 2-0d by Zenio. He at least won all his PvTs vs foreigners in WCS AM. Better than his other mu.

Not having enough observers is not his issue when Fantasy is just generally very good at constantly taking them out every single poke or engagement in his TvPs.

I think JYP's constant harassment and constantly moving army caused the ghosts to throw away too many bad EMPs and lose alot of energy. Fantasy could have done a lot better but I'm giving JYP a ton of credit for making those engagements against the ghosts work well. His viking usage wasn't too great either. He never got any good shots on the collosi.

What in the world.. Oz beating the PvP god Rain, JD somehow wins a ZvP against PartinG, and JYP wins a PvT against Fantasy?? Boxer seemingly made all the right decisions in sending out his players, and I don't think anyone would have expected a result like this based on player line-ups.
I knew that parting's pvz was the most overrated thing ever but JAEDONG? Damn. Well what do you know, EGTL just beat SKT with half their lineup, Oz won two PvPs (one against Rain) and JYP beat a terran in the ace match.
aww dang, normally i always bet on EGTL cuz i ov love and this time i thought meeh with players being away for wcs its gonna be hrad lets be reasonable and bet against them =O but well done Team EGTL =)
Wow, extreme underdog victory here considering EGTL was missing half its roster, pretty cool, especially since I'm a pretty big Oz fan. Too bad it was against the team that I want to win Proleague. Guess life isn't perfect, eh?
If you are an EG-TL fan, read the first few pages of the thread and enjoy all of the people writing them off. It makes the win that much more satisfactory.
So all the players were fielded in their weakest matchup (well, I assumed they were) and THEN they win. Maybe they should continue using this strategy of being so counter-intuitive.

truth! his archon positioning was so ::UGH:: (clunky units) if they had been properly positioned more the front (to crush the few force fields Parting had the energy for)... Oz's army could have pushed right through and probably taken the game right there. his PvP looks quite formidable... anyway, just that little mistake, cost him 3-0 and chance for all-kill... his push timing was perfect otherwise.
but we ended up seeing JD and JYP finish out an awesome series so all was well
