So the notable Koreans trying to scale the great wall of lag include VINES and Genius. Other players I’ve never heard of but are Korean (so probably worth a mention) include Kimyoungjoo, HoeJJa and Positive (I just scanned the ESL bracket so I may have missed a Korean who is registered in a European country).
VINES and Genius are definitely beatable, however the defence is looking a little thin now with seemingly every top level European either in Premier or at least in Challenger. We’ll have to wait and see.

Apparently the match was never played! Seems like Mr. Illias won only in his head. Honestly I don't see how he could have won 2:1 Socke with his play against me.
Err, could have been played with no historic though.

Either Socke hasn't entered his loss or he looks for an admin decision on something.

Its all 4 things really.
Lag is really bad from KR to EU, there are only 5 or 6 players trying to qualify(not counting the 7 already in WCS EU) and most of them are B-teamers and Europe has a much deeper player pool.

A draw? How? Why?
Killed OC vs two Widow Mines. Tarrantius had some probes, but didn't expect a mine in his mineral line. His probes got killed, he had to rebuilt a probe and had to awkwardly path the probe to collect minerals. But the second widow mine closed the area of the awkward path and Tarrantius failed to prevent it with his handful of Stalkers. Probe died, only 40 Minerals left, draw.
Edit: Tarra didn't have detection obviously. He had a Stargate and could build an oracle once he collected enough minerals.

I haven't even heard or some of those players. So technically there are more than 5 or 6 korean players but they're not all living and training in Korea. Meanwhile WCS AM has nearly that many players who have been in code S and a lot more at lower levels.

Can't see Genius not qualifying in this :X
I was actually surprised a bit. If you count code S at any point ever, there may be more code S players in AM than that. But that includes players like TOP and Heart. So many veterans. After going through, I've counted 20 players in or trying to qualify for WCS AM that have played in Code S at least once. (Excluding foreigners who were in code S)
Matches are pretty cool but are the commentators in gold league ? I'm being a bit pesky here but their knowledge seems pretty low, otherwise they have a decent flow.

Kr-EU lag is considered unplayable. And yes, far fewer Koreans and much lower quality.
its playable, plz dont always say such things (even i can play on kr from eu, you have delay like playing sc1 0.2 0.3 sek delay) its HARD its BAD its LAGGY and its bad to play BUT if it would be unplayable, a korean would NEVER beat a european pro ... never !

17 y-o, french, zerg, is or has been GM, hasn't had results so is sort of unknown even on the french scene. He's on team NvO (Never Out) Let's be thorough, the french interview also said he has an aggressive playstyle, doesn't gg on ladder, and doesn't like ZvP.

He should've. He saw 4 gates, and he left genius with 9 probes. If he had just sat back, made 2 bunkers, continually made units, and pre-emptively pulled 4-5 scvs, he wins easily. Even after his main was ransacked, if he pulled all his widow mines, and sent them to genius' mineral line, he could've forced a draw. Very poor decision making by morrow.

ya, the top 4 was awesome, but as you said, mostly on the back of his strong TvZ ( that 3rd game vs Life gave me chills <3). Today vs Harstem.. it was really bad. I hope it was just a "bad day", but he often has a really nice advantage in TvP only to get absolutly destroyed once the game goes longer than 15 mins...

Looked like muscle memory than any rational thinking. Why did he keep building immortals? I used to try this in the beta and stargate play pretty much is the counter to this.
But i experience quite a lot of beta builds coming back because people forget or never learnt how to deal with them. Genius is probably the better player but hats off to starbuck very well played.

Couldn't Starbuck just adjust his army composition and made more anti-air (queen/hydra/spore) if Genius went with Stargate?

It wasn't Slovenian championship but just a tournament held by conn.si crew which are from Slovenia. Other significant participants were also Ptak from Croatia and Beastyqt from Serbia so it wasn't exclusively for Slovenian players. Some players qualified and others like DIMAGA were invited. Hope this clears it up

Ok it was more of a tournament aimed towards people in the Balkans, but the organisers invited some top pros like Beastyqt, Kas and Dimaga to make the tournament more interesting I guess ^_^
