First is a monster at the moment, if he gets fielded anyone from Azubu (exception maybe symbol) will be pretty hard pressed to stop his current rampage
Really hoping IM can pull this off. The seem to really blow it in the team league. But with First playing so strong lately and their huge line up, I think they have a good chance to take this.
Could these threads be titled less spoilery when there are matches on consecutive days (like, "LG-IM vs AZUBU/StarTale winner")? People looking for last night's LR thread for recommended games and stuff (like me ) can get spoilered very easily when the threads are next to each other.
This is going to happen again next week when Ax-Acer plays tonight's winner the day before the finals.
I voted Squirtle for MVP even though I'm pretty sure he won't be, but I'm biased (and I couldn't think of a better answer). Also, this starts at 4AM Pacific? #lol

Yoda was one of the best players early on in HotS, but around the ro16 last season he started to play really badly. I haven't seen any games out of him since the up/down he played, but he's probably still good enough to get back to code S and kill off 2-3 Azubu players.
Really hope azubu gets through this round and impresses enough to get a reliable sponsor. It would be a shame for the players in that team to have to find new teams again.

There are currently 120~ viewers for the WoT stream on Twitch...
This can't be sustainable.
It's delayed from the NSL league (dota 2) which seems to be doing fine for a brand new game (in Korea) and Nexon paying them $$ probably helps a bit as well.
At least the finals next week should be back to the normal saturday time.
Middle of the day, seems like a good time to me. Or at least it would be if I hadn't broken my sleep schedule for EVO. The dumb thing is I don't even really like fighting games, but it's all big and important and I feel I need to see it.
More on topic, I hope IM wins this, partly because I like them more and partly for revenge. Nobody puts StarTale in the corner >;(
You guys that aren't in australia are missing out on the absolute perfect viewing time for korean events. Too bad I can't watch it without lagging lol.
so fuckin hilarous that no matter what event is on at what time, someone will complain. at this point people should really have grasped the concept of timezones and an international scene.

Doesnt really matter to be honest, for the timezone they are catering to, I think this is a better time anyway.

Still though, pizza at 1pm? That's an early dinner. Or a weird luch.
I actually get a warm meal for lunch and just some bread for dinner. A lot of people do it the other way around, eating big for dinner and only some small stuff for lunch. I'm just used to doing it this way because of working early shifts a lot. After working for 8 hours I need lots of food for lunch. It's how my parents do it as well and actually pretty common in Germany. Not so common in other countries though.

PL getting a big crowd and GSTL getting nothing is what adds to my worry, just makes me think korean fans don't acknowledge GSTL at all, which is really bad for esf and their sponsors.

Well the games are entertaining if you know the team and players, but the level is quite low compared to a PL series.
PL has a higher level, that's for sure, but the difference is not that big. I.e. Best vs Innovation had quite poor micro from Best, Rain vs Dear was lost due to an unneccessary overextension and so on. Generally speaking, they are a lot better in the preparation department and build order choice, but actual execution is about on par imo.
On July 13 2013 21:18 Drake wrote: i cant undrstand people if bronze silver gold or master are telling that violet is making joke decissions etc... as they would be on the same level as him ...
Because they don't understand how to use corruptors in ZvT. It takes much more skill, so much that even Violet fucked it up. The key is to let them absorb marine damage while banelings with zerglings move through underneath. They are like tanks in the air, while mutalisks simply melt to marines. Of course having a bunch of widow mines cancels this strategy.
Am I now imagining stuff, or was it always already blue with blue flame upgrade? It just didn't make a difference, and not many researched blue flame anymore, but afaik hellbats always had blue flames with blue flame upgrade.

While I agree that they probably won't win, most of their hopes in this match always relied on Symbol doing well.
Even so, they sent four players for a two spot qualifier...
Seems to me like they have two people who just won't qualify (vines and inca), and two who can (san and genius). Couldn't they send one of each pair today and the other two tomorrow?
I dont blame the AZUBUtoss for playing in the WCS EU qualifiers instead. GSTL has never really been held in that high of prestige compared to individual leagues plus if they want a shot at any money you have to qualify or you'll be sitting around doing nothing

Makes a fair point, but considering the spot theyre in and seeing as theres one more qualifier after it, wouldnt it be smarter to keep them for this one, send them away to the next one?

They wouldnt clash but then you take a risk of not making it. San and Genius have both already failed once 1 round away from qualifying. They would increase their risk of not qualifying by skipping today.

I don't get the point of corrupters at all. The medivacs boost away, a few of the corrupters catch up, get one shot in and then the medivacs can boost away again. They're worthless, just get mutas.

Yoda's play was just masterful. I don't think Symbol could have done anything better other than tech to BLs or infestor/ultra quicker. High APM terran is really tough to overpower in the late game as a zerg.

Staying on 0/1 though, constantly getting supply blocked...

People hurred like retards in chat for no reason when Khaldor kept pointing it out, and yet it was so true. To see him floating 2k gas and not even continue upgrading until minutes later, when he was already so far behind was quite sad. :/

Yeah he was very capable of doing it, just slipped his mind. Was weird that not only did he forget +1 attack (forgivable) but he didnt start +2 armour untill WELL after +1 had finished. So it wasn't just 1 slip in the upgrades but they just fell apart.
YoDa's were constantly going I think, barely any (if any at all) downtime.
Other than Game 1, YoDa was just a beast in all games.

He was floating on resources after something like 14 minutes.

Ah yeah that's true. I'm at work so I don't hear what Khaldor says. I did notice though that Symbol was at 80+ workers at some point. That is a bit too much vs terran.

It has been always like this, Yoda shows signs of awesome and proof mvp right but then he falls off. He won the IEM wold championship everyone though he started to live up to what mvp said. But here we are he got elimated from code s in Ro16 and then he fell in the Up and Downs. So yea he is a good player but not consistent.

oh you mean like bomber ?
Bomber is like the best terran on his team. When he slumps, everyone slumps.

Everyone actually knows how good Bomber is, and he's got a high GSL placement and MLG championship under his belt, so people actually know that he can be good, but nobody knows when that will happen.
Yoda, on the other side, is overshadowed by Mvp and, to some extent, Happy. He's got a win at IEM, which was the first HotS championship and nobody actually knows how much of an achievent should we consider it, and he's got killed a lot of times in Ro16, falling short to all the hype.
the worst part is all those zergs practice in the SAME house so they all think the same way vs terran THAT is the true reason all zerg vs him is bad. zergs from other teams can beat yoda. just not that one obviously
