Any proven instances of attempting to manipulate ladder rank through practices such as win-trading or account sharing will result in immediate disqualification from the qualifiers. Players must play on an account with their real name or proven legal alias to participate. Blizzard will individually verify each account to ensure it's legitimacy prior to formal invitation being presented to the qualifying players.

Times to be determined pending communication with ASUS ROG Northcon tournament to prevent clashes.
Q: Why the smaller format? A: We were very transparent after the fact about letting people know that while the first SHOUTcraft America was successful in terms of viewership, it did not provide the returns we needed to sustain the format. With the help of Ting, we are able to put on a sponsored event on a slightly smaller scale. We also feel that SHOUTcraft works better as a weekend event rather than a 7 day tournament as we did last time. This will create a more compact, easier to watch experience for everyone.
Q: Can non-continental Americas players participate? A: Only if they can provide proof of a valid work visa or permanent residency status during the period of the competition. Student visas will not be accepted. This is to ensure firstly that there are no legal ramifications for our sponsor and secondly to maintain the integrity of the tournament as a regional event.
Q: Will the tip-jar be available? A: Yes, viewers will be able to tip their favourite players via Paypal links on http://www.shoutcraft.com
Q: Will there be an offline final? A: This tournament will be played entirely online.
I like how you re-invited Kane. It's a bit weird since he's currently in EU, but not a big deal imo.
My favourite part of last Shoutcraft was watching streams the day before the cutoff. I think you should have a "pre-tournament show", watching ladder rankings the hour or two before the deadline. Maybe interview people who make it in etc.

Does this mean DeMu can play in it? Hope Scarlett and HuK go for it as well this time!
Also, what does 'legal alias' mean exactly?
Some people go by multiple names, so it's just to make sure the person owns the account and lives in the right place. Ben absolutely can play as long as we can prove he has a valid work visa for the US.

I would totally watch this! ^
However, the tournament is during my finals week... we'll see, haha.
There should be much more of these types of things, hell they don't even need to be specifically GM or have this big a prize pool every time. It's a great idea to stimulate an otherwise boring ladder.
Ting is a great company give you money back that you dont use on your plan. highly recommend checking it out. It is a big supporter of the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast. def recommend it look forward to tuning into the action.

Soo.. what kind of visa does Polt have?
Student visa. So no Polt for SCA Winter.
... So there won't be any serious Terran threat... It is too hard for Terran players to get good representation/content in the foreign only scene. T.T We have to settle for watching Korean streams, like ST Bomber's right now, if we want to watch live content during reasonable hours. It is so great that so many good Korean Terran exiles stream consistently. Like ForGG and Apocolypse.

I still think there are some good terrans that could make it. Demuslim (he's allowed to participate, right?), Major and qxc are all good players. Would have Xeno on this list as well but he's attending WCG at this time.

Glad to have Shoutcraft back and am also glad about these key points. It was great to see the original SCAmerica try something so different and daring but I think it's best you play to your strengths and go back to what made the previous SC's such a success.

Well inviting the previous winner has been a tradition of all the major Shoutcrafts, also he is a Canadian citizen and it'll all be played online so can't see how there would be problems.
As someone who hasn't watched sc2 in a very long time, I might watch this. Regional tournaments are so much more compelling to me with the way the scene is now.
So now we get part two of "let me do a region locked tournament to criticize wcs while my entire korean team plays in wcs na". Great, I will sabotage this by not watching the same way I did with the last one. I prefer tournaments that simply let the best player win regardless of nationality and I find these "lets ban the competition to get the players in the top spot that we'd like to see there" tournaments to be very racist.

That's not the problem the problem is I don't have my real name on my battlenet account not my ingame name
As somebody who had their account locked (the security thingy locked as I logged in with a different ip, got forbid I left my home blizz, and then it told me that I tried to unlock it too many times after trying it 0 times) with a fake name: Blizz can change it, or will even force you to do so. Just create a ticket and they'll change it.
@TotalBiscuit: I sure hope so, go cast some other game please.
Ting!!! This is awesome first you guys advertise with Dan Carlin now you sponsor starcraft tournaments. You are quickly becoming the most awesome company ever in my eyes because you support 2 of my favorite sources of entertainment = )
switched to Ting a couple months ago and they are saving me so much money and it doesnt feel like they are actively trying to screw me like other providers. Phone selection was a bit limited at that time but still a good amount of options and growing all the time. Definitely check them out. About to go send them a happy email. Great news. Anyone know if TB/Genna asked Ting or the other way around?

You're an idiot... and what's worse, you're an idiot throwing around some pretty serious terms. TB is simply creating an american tournament, much in the same way that the WCS of old only allowed people of one nationality to compete per event. Be happy that he's doing something to cultivate a scene which as of recently, hasn't had much of a spotlight. Moron.

I'm sure TB is losing TONS of sleep over the fact that you will be boycotting his tournament. Really, you got him good this time.
Also, way to just inject the word racist into your post, with no backup.

Says the guy using insults, I lol'd. I think you fail to see my point. I don't like the idea of an "only x nationality" tournament. Just because koreans are better does not mean that the solution is to exclude them. To say to somebody "you can't play because you dont live in country x" is about as racist as it gets to me. Thats like saying that mexicans can't immigrate to the US oh wait. Maybe in the states you think it's cool to have only americans shit. But I'd much rather see NA players practicing their asses off and actually beating koreans, you know doing what naniwa does to make themselves relevant and grow their scene. Not get their own little tournament so they can actually be in the spotlight by removing all competition. But we have to grow no matter what right? Because our game has to have the biggest dick.
@Darkhoarse: I couldn't care less what TB uses. I don't understand why it is fine to like this while it's apparently bad to express not liking it. Am I not allowed to share my opinion cause it's not supportive of the event? No backup? To tell somebody "you can't play cause you live in korea/poland/china or w.e." is racist to me. I don't know what it is to you.

Not all tournaments have to be the same. There is plenty of room for all kinds of tournaments.
Do you consider a tournament for female gamers to be sexist?

It's really, REALLY not. Are the commonwealth games racist? Is the Paralympics racist? Is the Ryder Cup racist? No, but they are events that require prerequisites for entry based on either nationality or physical ability. Are you as angry about the Finnish Starcraft League? or do you just simply have an axe to grind with TB? It’s fine to have an opinion, but the reasons for yours makes you look very foolish.

If I held a tournament for UC Berkeley students only, would you be upset that Stanford students were being discriminated against?
You're grasping at straws.
I don't think you understand my point at all but tbh apparently my views are wrong and as people are asking for me to get banned (I lol'd please keep it up) I'll just shut up and let you enjoy what you apparently think of as positive as other views are apparently not wanted.

Moron.
Racist, really.
Are we going there?
Not all tournaments have to be the same. There is plenty of room for all kinds of tournaments.
Do you consider a tournament for female gamers to be sexist?
Of course I do.

This is so great! While it might be a shame that players like Scarlett, Huk, etc. might be busy with other tournaments, it might give a chance for true up and coming NA players (Neeb, JonSnow, Guitarcheese, etc.) to truly make a name for themselves.

Not that I disagree with your point, but North America actually is bigger than South America.
North America: 24,709,000 square km (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_America) South America: 17,840,000 square km (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_America)
It's all that barren wasteland in the far north that does it.

Its weird to cite racism is a problem when talking about NA and SA. Even if you are just talking about the US, we have a pretty diverse number of races.
As for maps: While it is ladder qualification, shouldn't they use mostly ladder maps?
However, lets be real for a moment: how is it that the creative culture uses a less creative map pool than south korea's Kespa did? I think we need to ask ourselves whether we can't show the world that we're able to take a risk or two.
Again, real talk: who didn't love the custom Kespa maps? Who wasn't big enough of a nerd to get excited about them?

Weird claim in general! Not sure why its so wrong for a tournament to be regional? Hopefully this tournament establishes the best american sc2 player through the extensive use of ladder qualification and obviously the tourney itself! Would be nice to see a European version of this too, just to gage the overall strength of the Euro player base. Not sure why this would be particularly 'racist', its like claiming the European championships are racist to other footballing nations :D

This is what I am trying to decide. An argument could be made however that we would see more interesting games and it would be more difficult to learn your opponents builds from running into them on ladder if we were to use non-ladder maps. I'm considering a mix of the two.

Well, if the players are known ahead of time they would have plenty of time to practice on the maps assuming it gets announced well in advance.

I would pay to see a map pool that includes all sc2 maps ever. I'd love to see how new strategies and ancient maps intersect.
Excellent, Totalbiscuit. This is one of the first times I've seen a clearly and well stated set of "residency" requirements as well as the underlying reason for them and full cognizance of visa issues from both a sponsor and tournament organizer.
Thank you... After Genna's retirement I abandoned all hope of another Shoutcraft. I believe again. Hasn't Kane already moved to the myinsanity team house in Europe? Guess there's an exeption from the residency rule for the defending champion? Makes sense.

There's not a residency rule, there is a citizenship rule. Those temporarily out of the country can still play as long as they ladder in the right place.

Thanks. I misinterpreted this:
Can non-continental Americas players participate? A: Only if they can provide proof of a valid work visa or permanent residency status during the period of the competition.
So glad to see the first one didn't turn out to be a one-shot tournament. I understand that you probably havn't made plans that far, but I'd love to see Shoutcraft AM become a semi-regular thing.

A tournament based on ladder with the goal of helping NA talent should, unfortunately, use the ladder maps. Encouraging players to spend time learning maps that won't be part of WCS doesn't seem like the right direction.
excluding the "american hero" polt, who's a part time player under the fallacy of student visa (he's the only one concerned so it's directely toward him) just because he'd rape the "full-time" NA pro is kinda awful.

That's OK, he has WCS NA to show who is the boss in a region.
Thanks TB, Genna and of course Ting! This is what the NA scene needs. I will watch and support with tips. I would love to see many more of these events supporting the much beleaguered NA scene. Grass roots support will help our Americas players get better. I know that we can support good players and help them get better to challenge the Korean dominance of SC2.

Honestly, you get to see Polt in so many tournaments and I like that SCA is an opportunity to see players who don't usually get to play BO5s on the big stage. Call it affirmative action, call it whatever you want, I'm a firm believer in regional competition being necessary for a healthy scene.
The other good news for this is at least WCS won't be on to push this to awful times. It was a real shame last time because the tournament was actually pretty good.
Hopefully we see some more obscure maps instead of standard ladder pool. It gives tournament and games a lot more personality which i think has been neglected a lot in recent tournaments. Maybe not publish map pool before the tournament so everyone is on even footing, and players dont feel the need to practice maps beforehand just for shoutcraft.

First of all, learn what hypocrite means before you use it again you just look like a fool. Secondly, regional events happen in every sport on the planet why can't it happen in SC2?

This assumes the visa system is easy to understand, especially for people who do not speak English as their primary language. Or not convoluted. It's entirely possible to not lie to customs and still be on the wrong side of things.

You realize visa applications don't happen in foreign languages, right?
We've updated the deadline to the 5th of December at midnight. This is to allow eligible players competing at Dreamhack, WCG and IEM to get back in time to attempt to qualify for the tournament as well as giving other ladder players more time to pushing their ranking. We feel this is the best solution for everyone and gives the ladder that extra few days of "hot competition". We should remind people that currently a week of inactivity on GM ladder will get you booted out of GM, so be careful about spending too much time off the grid.

But does it matter either way that they're not in the US at the time? I mean, you can still play on NA from other places in the world, so I don't see why it would matter why anyone is not in NA at the time.

because leading up to the closing date, there will be a ton of people trying to qualify, so chances are the top 7 players will change quite frequently and they will be knocked out of the top 7 if they don't play for a couple days.

It's about having time to ladder. With the first date, a ton of players would have to make a choice between practicing (and probably doing so secretly) for WCG/IEM/Dreamhack or laddering for SHOUTcraft. In theory this gives them some time to finish their tournaments and ladder the last few days to try and qualify.
Greg "IdrA" Fields will be co-casting the entire event, providing his usual analysis and dry humour. The reception for his cast during the first SHOUTcraft America was extremely positive and gave us one of our best days in terms of viewership, so it seemed only reasonable to invite him back. I personally enjoyed co-casting with Greg for both his familiarity with the players which gave him a unique insight into the competition and his respect for caster role definitions which allowed him to deliver analysis while I handled the play-by-play. Just out of curiosity, why do they specify "continental" Americas? That's excluding Hawaii and the Caribbean if I'm not mistaken, is there any reason for that?

I'm quite certain both are considered part of the Americas. Continental Americas is just a simpler way of saying North and South (and sometimes Central) America.

This tourney is great news for NA scene but so bad timing for me I've got a 80 hour roundtrip to WCG 2013 China lol, so it'll be impossible for me to qualify. GL all though!

Can we expect SHOUTcraft SEA or Europe in the future?

Because it's SHOUTcraft America
What more explanation is needed?
I am not sure I understand, you're saying it's called SHOUTcraft America, yet you will not let someone from Australia compete because he is not American? That seems kind of convoluted, I mean Australia is kind of like America, they both begin with the letter A for instance. Also they both speak english, kind of. I think a case could be made for Australia and America being essentially the same thing, just a matter of semantics.
Also, it's been far too long since you and Greg cast together, it's still to this day one of the easiest pairings to listen to in the world of esports.

They are kind of similar in terms of both scenes needing to be sheltered from better Korean players, and being weaker and less tournament rich than Europe. As might as well amalgamate them with the weakest region recognized by Blizzard.

My word you're persistant.
It's SHOUTcraft America with no exceptions. How many more times do you need to be told?
If you want a tournament for Australian players go ahead and create one yourself, I'll even donate you £50 for the prize pool to help you get off the ground. And please don't say that it's not doable, it has been accomplished in the past (SC2Improve for example).
TB, if you're around, I was about to say something about the sponsor, but didn't want to talk out of my ass so I'll phrase it as a question. Is the American exclusivity of SHOUTcraft due in part to requests by Ting?

Hasn't SHOUTcraft always been exclusive to American residents even before the sponsorship of Ting?

SHOUTcraft was invitationals before the original America tournament. We did a lot of Europeans in those events.

That is an excellent question, if a tournament is named SHOUTcraft America, it only stands to reason that countries that are at least tangentially connected to America should also be allowed. France sent the statue of liberty to the US, I see no reason why they could not also send ToD. American forces have been stationed in Korea for decades, now it's time to for Korea to send forth its brave cadre of internet warriors to return the favour.

Accompanied by a full military band, preferably one of Her Majesty's Royal Guard bands. 6 octaves of glorious wind and percussion, accompanying such vocal talents as Apollo of MCApollo rap fame and the sultry voice of John 'Totalbiscuit' Bain, famous for his basso profundo.

Why don't you let the community figures in question tally their own apology score; it's obvious that TB and Idra have gotten over whatever rift they had in the past enough to work together rather well in casting starcraft, though I'm sure TB appreciates you holding on to the butthurt for him.

He spoke his mind, whether someone was offended or not is not his problem. He has no obligation to apologize for stating his honest opinion. TB has since then proved, beyond any reasonable doubt, that he was not into SC2 for money or just to attract viewers because it was a new and shiny thing, by sponsoring tournaments and a team by himself, more than most can say.
I know that Geoff has publicly redacted his earlier statements on TB, I don't know about Greg, nor do I care. They have cast together multiple times and it has always worked very well, so obviously they can function together in a professional capacity which is all we need to be concerned about.
Husky is someone who will always be divisive because of his style, I never liked him as a caster and I understand why Greg didn't either. He is not owed an apology regardless.

Or why not organize a SHOUTcraft Korea? That sounds like a grand idea. Someone should do that (but don't call it SHOUTcraft). Probably not TB as I think he has a lot on his place. But more Korean-only tournaments is a good thing. Don't need to throw them in with an American one, though.
Is this why Jaedong been playing on NA ladder? I'm guessing he can get a work visa since US now acknowledges pro gamers with work visas (if they can get it). If this is the case that is awesome since it will really help NA ladder plays at the top to have better practice.

I'm guessing no. I'd say he's playing on NA Ladder because he is (or was) in NA, after the WCS Global Finals. He probably just didn't fly back right away.

Random Stuff
It's still really early days yet but so far Snakehips is the only new talent/underdog to remain competitive in the ladder
Congratulations to new entries Suppy, ViBE and puCK for breaking into GM. Guess the old guard couldn't stay away after all
Scarlett maintains her number 1 spot with a win ratio of 75% (54:18) over the last 48 hours
Huge congratulations to both MaSa and JonSnow for climbing almost 100 places in a single day
A brief disclaimer: 1) I apologise if there are players I class as unknown, my knowledge of America GM only stretches so far as a EU gold leaguer. 2) There will probably be mistakes, let me know and I'll do my best to correct them (stuff like TLPD info, not the rank please) 3) Take note of the time stamp, GM rank is extremely volatile and the ranks change drastically even as I'm constructing the post. Quite a few new faces pushing into the top 16. I'm not convinced by BestPlayerNA. Last three seasons in low masters then suddenly top 16 GM? My skepticism sense is tingling
Random Stuff
Underdog Snakehips finally bows out of the top 7, his mantel is now taken up by MaSsan
puCK becomes the first person in the list to gain over 100 places in 24 hours
GM is now full at 200 players
Apparently KTFlash is in fact Xenocider. I'm not going to add him in today though as since finding that the lists have all changed and it would be a total ball ache to do the whole thing again

The combination was well received and I very much enjoyed the cast and am looking forward to doing so once again.
I don't wanna pour water on your beers, but one of the reasons I don't like IdrA is because of how much he'd crap on TB and Husky, in the most hateful, juvenile, butt hurt way, like "B-BUT THEY'RE MAKING MONEY OUT OF STARCRAFT AND THEY'RE NOT EVEN THAT GOOD"
has he apologized for that, if not publicly, at least to TB in person? Because I know for a fact that, for husky, he has not.
That was so long ago and everyone has clearly gotten over it. TB and Idra have worked together before and it was greats. Get with the times son!
guess it's because I don't like the kid and give a shit ton of respect to TB and it's amazing how the world turns, here idra is, teamless, not playing the game (professionally) anymore, and eating from the very hands he once shat let that be a lesson to everyone + Show Spoiler +

Oh man, now people are trying to use shit from 3 years ago as drama.

the highest level of absurdity? shitloads of people have concerns about idra's respect for other people, and JP Dayne posted a pretty calm and rational opinion about it. i dunno if the "idra is teamless blar de har" tangent was totally necessary, but i don't think this forum has to be the kind of dictatorship where saying "hey, i'm not really down with this casting choice because i think he lacks respect" is somehow shitting up a thread or being absurd

TB man, I respect so you so much, I just wanna headbutt you right in the face to show the depths of my appreciation.
Anyway, I'd find it hilarious of Idra somehow makes top 8 GM before the time limit, that would be...weird. Otherwise, the top 8 is looking good, everyone who needs to be there is there, more or less. Scarlett has to be the favorite, but Minigun and and Major could conceivably take her down, Puck if he makes top 8 too.

SHOUTcraft America.
Not Australia. No exceptions.
If you dont mind me asking TB, whats the rational for excluding Australians? Is it more of growing the NA scene or more of a sponsor issue?
TBH Korea doesn't have that many tournaments either, why not allow koreans into SHOUTcraft America as well?
Well, Korea still has the GSTL, plus the upcoming Proleague.

To be honest he's right (about Korea not having enough tournaments, not about letting Koreans enter SHOUTcraft). Korea really could do with more tournaments to sustain the scene over there. I'm really really really hoping that OGN hold a few in 2014.
* to my knowledge SeleCT has US residency and would be eligible, but I'm not 100% ** Snakehips matches up with an A-Teamer from Team .SCA (has [SCA] clan tag and plays Zerg)
Chasers
The following are eligible players who are within striking distance of the top 7 [Player Name] [Current GM Rank]
*Yes I see it, there are two Idra's, I'm assuming at least one is real. Also since he's confirmed as a caster I'm pretty sure he won't enter even if he did get top 7 but I'm keeping him in anyway **I don't know why, but I'm not 100% that's the real LZgamer
Random Stuff
There are currently 31 "bar codes" in AM GM, one of which (Terran) is potentially eligible
While seed and defending champion Kane is not in AM GM he is currently 1st in EU GM
SeleCT is the only "foreign hope" in this tournament
Amazingly 56% of the previous Shoutcraft America contenders currently appear to be absent from the GM. Namely; Goswser, puCK, ViBE, Maker, Hendralisk, Neeb, Suppy, rsvp and Xenocider. That’s not to say that they don’t have a smurf account in GM.
Won't be doing any updates over the weekend, notice how competitive the 'chaser' section has gotten over 48 hours, things are hotting up.
The ranks will only be correct at the moment I post
So TB, how goes the map pool? I'd suggest Habitation Station because it produced such great interesting games at Red Bull. Any new information on that map pool?

Still thinking about it.
Obviously I want to use as much ladder stuff as possible but I'd like to throw in a wildcard or two. Habitation Station was a really good map I agree. I'm also tempted to use the GSTL version of Fruitland. Obviously vetos will be allowed.

I vote Fruitland if you are to decide between the two you quoted.
I don't think Habitation is necessarily as bad as I first thought, but if you are going to use it, I would suggest getting rid of the gold bases. They are just a headache and a half from a balance perspective and they feel almost mandatory if they are present.
I think the map could be ok if the gold minerals are exchanged for normal ones, and it's a very simple change to make.

Based on the games we saw at Redbull I don't think there's enough of a compelling argument to say "HEY! GOLD BASES BAD!". It was actually quite a nice change of pace.
On November 27 2013 06:14 JustPassingBy wrote: How come that there are so many foreign terrans on the top of the NA ladder? It's like the opposite of EU! :o
Probably because most of the good players in NA play EU or Korea ladder mostly. NA ladder is mostly a matter who is more active for the moment, we can't really read much into it.
Would be cool to have a lot of terrans in shoutcraft though, it would mean more TvT and TvZ, which is good.

I agree, the gold bases seemed to trigger a lot more engagements and harassment to try and disrupt mining. I think this is how gold bases were intended to work on maps like antiga, but the added airspace gives zerg an equal opportunity to harass the gold mineral line.
The thing about gold bases is how higher mineral income disproportionately benefits terran because of how mineral heavy bio is. Also, having gold bases as like a one time thing makes practice really weird because of how much they change the game. Either it should be something used consistently, or avoided altogether imo.
Now an argument could be made that terrans might even need that boost given how TvZ and in particular TvP has been looking lately, and I can sympathize with that sentiment, but I'm not sure that's a good way to go about balance. I don't think it's a huge thing, but having an off map where terran basically gets a substantial leg up just feels a bit strange.

Btw, is Polt eligible for this thing?
Is there on a student visa not a work visa I think. So I doubt it.
*It is rumoured that the account KTFlash is infact a smurf belonging to MajOr. This is no yet confirmed. ** As mentioned in the last post, there are two IdrA's in this GM. I believe this is the real one as his career history is full of previous GM's while the other spent pretty much the whole of his WoL career in Masters

The following players are unknown in top 16 GM llllllllllll (LiLiLiLiLiLi) [3] LxAnki [8] Hitman [9] AAAAAAAAAAAA [11]
Ineligible players in the top 16 GM ForGG[7] Petraeus[8]
The mysterious barcode Terran continues remain relevant in the AM GM. Most recent victims include qxc, ViBE, Petraeus and Hitman. Still no information on LxAnki? Anyone know who he is? Also I moved Hitman to unknown since I found it unlikely he was the KT Zerg; This particular Hitman has Lv30 max-out on all three races, finished last ladder season number 1GM and has clocked over 8500 games total.

Thought I'd update since there's been a lot of changes. Just thought I'd point something out, was watching DeMuslim's stream earlier and he mentioned how the NA ladder has never been this stacked (particularly with NA pros). While there are a lot of factors that could contribute to this (WCS off-season leads to more time to ladder) it's a pretty strong theory that ShoutCraft America has contributed to this in some way. Also just check out the list now, the actual ladder ranks now match so closely to their rank for eligibility into SCA, meaning a lot of NA players laddering and a lot of competition for these 7 qualifying spots, pretty cool.
* DeMuslim mentioned on his stream today that Scarecrow is Huk, so I'm going to go with whichever of the two is highest (interestingly Huk's official account is currently ranked 10th, which almost puts him in the top 7 twice)
** Xenocider now appears to be using his official account, so from now on I'll go with that or KTFlash depending which is higher
*** The elusive barcode is SHOUTcraft America veteran Neeb (seen on his stream) which definitely makes him elagable

DeMuslim becomes the first player in NA GM to break 1000 points
Despite that impressive feat it would only award him 29th on the EU ladder
Seems Scarlett is taking a breather. Since Red Bull Battlegrounds she's only played 2 ladder matches in the last 3 days. Despite this she's still in the top 7, quite impressive
EG are potentially going to have a good showing at SCA, they currently had 4 players in the top ten of GM (5 if you count both of Huk's accounts)

You can keep the expenses down and still get the look that you want using some easy methods, such as colour, usually low cost in characteristics, and the vinyl Cheap Wall Stickers which are super easy to implement and easy to eliminate. Appropriate even for the lease houses because they do not mar the wall stickers, the use of vinyl fabric wall stickers can set the overall tone for an whole space, providing a great look Kids Wall Stickers and a new design for the vacations that can be quickly and quickly eliminated once the vacation for which they have been used is previous.
As of the 29th, the top 16 includes Major, Demuslim, Huk, Masa, Hitman, Huk again, qxc, Scarlett, Suppy, Xeno and Select. There are two Terran barcodes that might be Neeb and a few players who I don't recognize.

The first shoutcraft AM was citizens only, so he couldn't compete. This time it's relaxed to residents, so people like Demuslim and Select are eligible.

Confirming that Demuslim is eligible due to a valid work visa and CatZ is eligible too (it includes anything in continental America and Peru certainly counts as do all South American nations).

2If the aforementioned unknown account is owned by an eligible player the cut-off (for "chasers") would move up to Minigun and bump Jig out of the top 7.
3The are conflicting reports on rebOrns nationality. Clarity Gamings Liquipedia page has him listed as but every other source leads me to believe he is Indonesian by citizenship, possibly Singapore(ian?).

really love this and i am so glad totalbiscuit is once again putting on a tournament for the american scene, but i can't help but wish this was a 16 man tournament like the last one.
1. Neeb has disappeared from the GM ladder, anyone know what happened to the account? maybe -> ?
2. Scarlett has finally made herself known on the AM ladder and reclaims most of the ground lost due to inactivity because of IEM.
3. The group of Chasers is thinning out as the front of the pack increases their point totals at a unsustainable rate for many of the top 50.
4. The top 7 eligible players are within 76 points. 1190 -> 1114. With a nearly 40 point gap between Scarlett and Suppy.
5. Hitman has been grinding the ladder more then any other currently qualified player, with only 5.2 points/win he is less then half of Suppy and HuK. His win-rate is just a smidgen over 60%. Masa takes the 2nd spot with a 76% win-rate.
6. With NonY falling behind by nearly 150 points from the last qualifying spot my heart breaks to have to say it looks like the Chillest of Toss' will not be able to liberate America.
And yeah Hitman plays a lot. I think if you add last season and this season he has the most games on the NA ladder of any top GM besides Petraeus maybe.
The biggest reason I love Shoutcraft isn't even the actual tournament, its the pre-tournament that happens on the ladder in the weeks leading up to it. It's like one big round-robin/open bracket it's great.

Was this a change? I have a very vague memory of I believe Scarlett not being able to participate in the first iteration of Shoutcraft because she was living in Korea at the time, even though she was high on the NA ladder.

Actually Scarlett couldn't enter last time because she wasn't in American GM and GM was locked so she had no way of qualifying.

It's actually very impressive to play that many games and still maintain such a high position on ladder, far less reliant on bonus pool and gives a more reliable cross section of your win rates.
Well, it's finally here, the last day of frantic tense laddering. The last three weeks have merely been a warm up for these vital few hours. As some of you may have noticed in the past updates, you can compare them to the ladder just one hour after they're posted and they'll look completely different. That volatility only intensifies when a potential $2500 prize is thrown into the mix. The final fight between the chasers is going to be brutal, people placed in the mid range will have to make the difficult decision to decide whether to play more and potentially lose points, or to call it a day and hope they don't get over taken. There'll be epic games, there'll be base trades, and there'll definitely be dirty filthy cheese. Leading a marathon for 26 miles is impressive, but it's all for nothing if you can't make the last 385 yard sprint.
So with the hype out of the way here's the list. I'll try to update it in the style of a LR, and obviously pay more attention to it closer to the end. Also a big thanks to Gofarman for compiling the lists in my absence and keeping the hype train well fed.
Okay, so now we pretty much know all the players in the top 16 that are eligible and which ones aren't (there's just that barcode Zerg who's unknown). The list now shows a players rank to qualify for SHOUTCraft America 2. NOT their actual ladder rank.
Hour 12

Here's where you can find ways to follow the main contenders. I'm not sure if any would want to stream during the last few hours for fear of stream cheating but if they are streaming I'll put their twitch link in green text. Even if they're not streaming now subscribe and check them out another time, also in the last dying hours cheer them on through their twitter. Also give a shout out to TotalBiscuit and Ting Mobile. I've never used twitter so I'll leave it to you guys to come up with clever #Hashtags.
As an FYI to players. I will need you to get in touch with me ASAP after the qualification closes. We had to extend the qualification so we have very little preparation time. We need you to contact us so we can verify your information and account through Blizzard before the tournament begins.
Contacting me via PM on Teamliquid is probably the best way to handle things.
Hitman is kind of like a hybrid of Combatex and sOs, he makes cheese into an art form. It's actually unreal how many variations of cannon rush one can squeeze out.

He must have a stream or twitter but since he doesn't have a liquipedia page it's very difficult to find it. "Hitman" is a very generic handle so googling "hitman twitter" is no good. Couple that with the fact that there's another Hitman in SC2 (Kespa player). I've sent a message to SYF's manager so hopefully he see's it and can send me more info. It would be nice since he's pretty much the only "unknown" in the list and promoting new talent is one of the goals for this tournament series (I'd never heard of BlinG or dde before shoutcraft)

I'm the manager of SYF Gaming, since Hitman never really played in tournaments before joining SYF Gaming he doesn't have a twitter or a twitch. Before joining us he used to play for the American team Eternal Dreamers and played in most of their team league matches. We will get him a twitter before this tournament starts What i do have for you is a liquipedia page http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Hitman

Okay, so now we pretty much know all the players in the top 16 that are eligible and which ones aren't (there's just that barcode Zerg who's unknown). The list now shows a players rank to qualify for SHOUTCraft America 2. NOT their actual ladder rank.

Not a lot going on at the moment. The top 5 remain unchanged and haven't laddered in the last 5 hours, whether that's tactical or not I'm unsure but Huk definitely appears to be playing it safe and sitting it out.
Masa just started laddering and DeMuslim, qxc and Xeno have been laddering for a while (DeMuslim and qxc are streaming). DeMuslims win ratio this session is >50% while qxc is absolutly killing it. I wonder if these guys are all going to ladder until the deadline.

I was going to, but it takes long enough just to change the rank, so changing an additional 4 digits for each players every update would be too fiddly I'm afraid

qxc looked to be on tilt a little and has closed down his stream. Having secured a safer position DeMuslim has also closed his down after 5 hours worth and by the sounds of it could be done for the day. Though if his position looks threatened I'm sure he'll jump back on. This is the only change so far since the other top 6 still haven't laddered (though Masa played one game an hour ago strangely enough). It seems that the chasers are working to each others detriment as the point gap between qualifiers and chasers has increased by 18
Haha, LR for NA ladder, never thought I'd live to see the day. This is actually exciting, I wish there were some streams on, but I totally get why those in the race want to play off stream, getting sniped now would be horrible.
Such a shame we don't have Polt and Scarlett laddering as goalkeepers this time around xD (Scarlett is understandable, since she can actually play in the tournament...).

Minigun has started streaming "There's not going to be any commentary, at least until I qualify". Looks like someones not fucking around. Catz session is slow, but steady, he's over 40 points up so far. The gap between chasers and qualifiers is now only a win away.
Here's a little nugget to fill the time, Scarlett's ladder statistics for the end of the season (since it's looking pretty likely she'll finish number 1 today).

Called PuppyKing, don't remember the prefix. And Major just lost to Byun.
This is so cool, eyes glued to NA ladder. Having Byun in the mix just to throw everyone for a loop is even more interesting... I don't envy these guys, I'd be a nervous wreck.

All the players in the bottom six are laddering, with the exception of Masa, and it's hurting him. He has now dropped to the chasers, perhaps a twitter prod could convince him to get on battle net . Three players are currently streaming (see media), they all seem in a very different state of mind. Minigun and Catz seem pretty collected, taking their time between games. As soon as qxc finishes a game he hits the search button instantly, he's determined. There's basically no gap between chasers and qualifiers now.

Masa is standing on really thin ice, the only thing keeping him in at the moment is Major taking points off qxc, Xeno and Catz. Two hours is still enough time for Xeno and qxc, I really don't favour Catz or Minigun's chances anymore.
As much as drama and rage can be fun from time to time, I feel for Kevin here, you can tell he really wants this. Somehow the fact that he keeps his manners up, even though he is so obviously crushed just makes it worse.

Minigun and qxc pretty much have to win all their games in a row now. Xeno's chane isn't much better but he's going in the right direction. Major is sill laddering, which could be a real thorn in their sides. Masa has started laddering. If he does poorly this could actually change everything between the chasers.
I didn't think Catz would make it but he's getting close. It would be amazing if he managed to enter the top 7 for the first time with less than one hour left.
This is the most fun I've had watching Starcraft in a while, it's amazing how entertaining watching people ladder can be when it actually means something, thanks TB!
Suppy's muta VS Catz queen/infestor. Catz seems to be getting the better army trades and Suppys flock is quite small suggesting weak econ. Catz is attempting to take a 4th 25 minutes in.
Lands HUGE fungal and slices off a chunk of Suppys roaches
Xeno appears to be out (short of a miracle). It's now a three horse race. Suppy doesn't lose any points thanks to bonus pool, but cant afford to take any more loses. He now has 0 bonus pool
Suppy has 12 bonus pool now. Suppy losing this will probably get rid of the rest of his bonus pool and put him at serious risk of getting knocked out of Top 7.
Another interesting thing to consider is that even though CatZ might not be able to make it himself, I'm sure he'd really like to knock Suppy out so his bro Minigun could qualify.
I never anticipated mere ladder games could get so exciting as a result of this tournament. Oh and thanks Greendotz for helping build the hype by making information accessible.
Um WTF is the Demuslim doing right now? He's about to get knocked out of the qualifier. For him to not qualify because he chose to sit on his butt while everyone else got points at the last hour is going to be humiliating.

If you were to ask people who the top 3 players in NA are anytime from mid 2012 up until today, many people would likely say Scarlet, HuK, and Major, in that order. And look who are the top 3 for this qualifier, pretty neat.

Bomber, TaeJa, MVP and MMA disagree.
Well MVP sometimes 11/11 rax's.
Wut? Bomber and MVP have absolutely zero qualms about busting out proxy raxes, mass reapers, brue frame hellions, bunker rushes etc. MVP especially is notorious for mixing macro and cheese with seamless precision.
I think if that match happens, Demu will play his usual style, he will play it well, the games will be good, and ultimately he will lose to a superior opponent.
Umm who is Hitman? Can someone give me a brief summary on him since I can't find much about him at all. I have only heard about how he is super cheesy. So I'm guessing scarlett will know what to expect out of him and will probably roll him.
It is pretty cool that TB does an event like this that draws attention to playing on the ladder and creates some excitement around the game, and making ladder meaningful. I know there are certainly flaws when it comes to the ladder system and wouldn't want many events using it to seed or invite players often, however I don't understand why Blizzard doesn't do something like this every month or two and generate the excitement themselves?
The last of every month have the top 8 ladder players enter into a $1000 tournament. It would cost Blizzard pennies on the dollar and provide some incentive to ladder especially for the players that don't have big contracts or are preparing for major events.
Glad TB is doing this, and appreciate his efforts just seems like it was really exciting to stay updated and I wish that it wasn't something that happens once or twice a year because it was entertaining following streams and ladder results.

Missing Rhapsody in this list - Red Bull Battlegrounds had it featured and it was a fantastic addition IMHO. The lava element made it very exciting to watch because progamers were forced into specific time windows which pretty much screw with boring "standard" builds.

Hey man! I suggest checking out my guide to using the new GameHeart here. It's pretty simple but you may as well load up a map and give it a try so you aren't doing it for the first time live. And remember it uses interface files to customize the interface so you can use one you already have or you could download this one which we designed to look like the old version of GameHeart.
I do not have Fruitland available yet though I will ask Semmo about letting me add GameHeart to it and try to get it up tomorrow. But because the new GameHeart uses interface files switching from a GameHeart map to a non-GameHeart map should not affect your production other than losing the extra gameheart features. Your interface will remain the same.
I would be happy to answer any questions you might have on skype (rtschutter) or by email (teamgameheart@gmail.com).

We are being fluid as much as possible due to Scarlett and Major both being at LAN events right now. We'll almost certainly start with Kane vs Minigun. What we do after that is dependent on Scarlett and Major.
So much for no overlap between ASUS ROG and Shoutcraft lol . . . technical problems in Germany gonna mean conflict for the entire Shoutcraft event tonight.
Also feel bad for Scarlett who is caught in the middle.
Well, the semi is soon over in the asus rog tournament and then they just got a bo7 final to play while TB can stream three bo5's before Scarlett would have to play. Should work out if there aren't any massive delays. I think there's a bigger question of where Scarlett's mind will be at.
Thank you very much for this great tournament TotalBiscuit! You and Idra had great analysis, i'm impressed! Making the ladder matter is such an awesome way to improve the NA ladder, making everyone practice better in the long run! <3
