All the tournaments on Day 1 are big group stage days with everything going on at the same time. Traditionally these days are never covered in detail unless someone really wants to. =/

but thats just my wishful thinking, if no one opens a thread, ofc that would do it aswell

If someone wants to do it I'd happily make the code and transfer the thread. It's 40 Bo3's on that day alone and we don't even know how it is going to be streamed (if all games get streamed or if some won't) yet.

Holy shit that's a lot of money for this tournament. Suppy doesn't even have any Koreans in his group, time for him to make some sweet sweet e-sports dollars?

Also Sora is in the tournament, and he is honestly top 5 protoss in the world. He may not have amazing results (yet) but if you watch his games its obvious he is on a very very high level.

I'm cheering for BlinG

The prize money distribution is terrible as always at WCGs. With such a huge prize pool you could and SHOULD pay out top 8. Anyway, it is nice to see that WCG still exists, China for esports!

Is Parting really the favourite vs Soulkey? I would perhaps favour Parting in a different setting, but head-to-head I'd fancy Soulkey

When will it start, how many hours?

17 hours to go! Excited! Go go BlinG <3

Imo no. HotS head to head record: Soulkey 7-2 PartinG
(1738) PartinG 0-0 Soulkey (1818) ------------------------------------------- 10.04% 3-0 0-3 15.33% 16.12% 3-1 1-3 21.38% 17.26% 3-2 2-3 19.87% ------------------------------------------- 43.41% 56.59%
Median outcome: PartinG 2-3 Soulkey Estimated by Aligulac. Modify.
Parting's doing well lately, but he still hasn't proved he can defeat a Zerg of the caliber of Soulkey.
|
Honestly I'm much more excited about the return of WC3 Moon than SC2. If only Grubby could come back for the epic match, just this tournament
|
WCG still doesn't have a dedicated SC2 stream? Will they ever learn from their mistakes? Probably not. That way most people will watch DreamHack Winter.
My bet is on either PartinG or Soulkey 50-50. But Sora, Jim and MacSed's results should also be interesting.

Can someone clean up the LP page? It says, that Ian has won 10 maps already (instead of 9 (4 wins, 1 against SK)) and that Hasu has lost 5, although he won every game 2-0 (Or lost 0-2) according to LP.

Were can I find the official results? The WCS page is like totally empty... link

VODs? The WCG SC2 stream doesn't have any past broadcasts . I found SoulKey's game vs HasuObs but I can't find Parting's.

Haven't found any more games of him yet, probably a lot were broadcasted on the chinese stream but no way in hell I'll be able to find the VODs there ^^

Who the hell are nicholas, Ian and clannad and how in the fuck did they take games off of parting and soulkey? Parting probably got cocky and probe rushed while nicholas proxy raxed and soulkey only loss because zvz is pure luck and pure coin flip builds. I bet soulkey went quadruple hatch before pool and got 6 pooled

Good to see PartinG and Soulkey tear through their groups ^^

Ugh, they cover the replay timer with the map name :/.

Welp, Parting and Soulkey on opposite sides of the bracket. Looks like Koreans got this one. It'll be hard for anyone to beat them in a Bo5
|
Aw, Clannad almost made it.
PartinG vs. Nicholas only 2-1 of Group A

Soulkey actually almost got 2-0'd by Ian but he went full foreigner in the 2nd game and overextended when he had the advantage (3 bases to 2, similar roach count) instead of getting more ahead.

wasn't game 2 the game where Soulkey came back because of his burrowed roach harass?

Yeah, Ian would've been able to deal with that a lot better if he had taken his early advantage further.
