I did´nt see anyone claim, that he would be the best protoss in the world or smth (which would also be wrong) People are just happy. Why would you try to stop them being happy?
Occasionally fanboys (Nani and Scarlett fans in particulary) will go with the hyperbole like that. That just bothers me a little bit. Also Naniwa himself. But it's beside the point. I will endeavor to let people be happy.
Naniwa himself mostly admits, when players are better than him. He said, that sOs is his inspiration and the reason, why he plays, how he plays now. He also said, that he was very afraid of Soulkey (for a reason) in front of Blizzcon and said during MLG, that he expected to lose vs Jaedong, Dear and Polt, after he won against the first 2. I found his opponent analysis very reasonable until now (except, when he loses to players, he does´nt like that much, I very much disagree with the hypothesis , that Tefel is the worst player in the world).
But yeah, ocasionally fanboys can be a pain in the ass regarding hype, espicially the fanboys of top foreigners or Flash.
He generally shows a ton of respect for the great players. You definitely have a point. He just has had moments with other foreigners or calling Nestea an idiot that makes it seem like he isn't too respectful.
I think the Nestea-incident was a huge misunderstanding from all sides, definitly bad wording from Naniwa, but he corrected himself a day after that already. You´re right about ocasional disrespect towards other foreigners, but that does´nt have much to do with the original point of discussion, which would be him claiming to be better than he is.
Yeah I dunno kev that was stupid and isn't really backed up by evidence.
I very much appreciate your way of discussion btw. You normally bring arguments, that make sence, you´re analytical about stuff and if you are wrong, you mostly admit it (Except the fact, that Round Robin >>> GSL-style groups, but noone is perfect). With everyone calling eachother idiots or trolls in internet forums, I think it is just appropriate to mention the opposite of that, so, Darkhoarse, I think you are a valuable forum user.
Haha tears in my eyes man thanks you too of course
Thanks, I appreciate it.
For friends of statistics: -With his top-6 finish, Innovation willl overtake viOLet in earnings. If he beats Naniwa/JYP, he will join club 100k. (source: aligulac)
- With his top-3 finish Life will overtake MKP in earnings. (source: aligulac)
-With his top-8 finish, Naniwa will overtake the former swedish quake 4-player Toxiq (Most earning Quake-4 player world-wide) and become Nr.7 in swedish E-sport earnings, behind the Alliance-Dota team and Counter-Strike legend f0rest. (source: esportsearnings)
Thanks, cool stuff.
Today I learned Quake 4 had a competitive scene, apparently.
Anyone know of the long vods on the dreamhack twitter channel that cover the whole stream for the day go up right away? The first match starts at 6am for me, and if I can use that, then I'll just get up an hour later and watch the first match on there then.

too few people know how to use twitch and look for past broadcast...
I know about the feature and how to get to past broadcasts... I just wanted to make sure they went up right away so that I didn't find out the hard way after sleeping through the first match of the day. I want to be able to watch it before the next match I want to see two hours later. Just don't want to wake up at 6 for one match then have such a gap till the next one if I could watch them one right after the other.

Geoff asked Apollo where Apollo would rank himself amongst casters/ intro announcers. Apollo said that he considers himself to be as good as whatever Geoff says Apollo would be. Geoff says Apollo is probably around 11th. Apollo agrees. Geoff says that number twelve and ten are supernovamaniac and... supernovamaniac again.
oh, that's not funny at all. wat.
well maybe it sounded different on stream, but why bash the guy when he's no longer a caster and hasn't been since july/august.
Come on, he's stating the facts. It's not supposed to be funny.
