Poll: Who takes it? Scarlett (1242) 50% Naniwa (1242) 50% 2484 total votes
Damn...
Also if the winner holds onto the bitcoins and by some crazy act of god its values goes up x1000 or more (again), this could be the biggest prize pool not just for a SC2 showmatch, but of any tournament... of any sport.
Bitcoin is already immensely overvalued. In recent days it's worth has plunged almost 50% from it's peak to 600$ or so.
I am just curious, how does Naniwa feel regarding Scarlett? I mean, will we see... a) trashtalk (he respects her but thinks he's better) b) bm (he doesn't respect her and thinks he's better) c) proberush (he knows he is worse)
Haha, just a joke comment, Naniwa is cool and I suppose he is a pretty nice guy beneath his Jaedong like attitude regarding tourneys.^^
I hope they hurry with the tournament because since it's bitcoin we could possibly end seeing a Bo7 of the two best foreigners for a total of 12$. Would be fun nonetheless though. :D
I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, since there is still two days to go, but the bitcoin has made a rebound in a big way and is currently values at $697.50 (It has an up trend!) and $697.50 * 14 = $9,765. There is a lot of fluctuation, so we will see in two days.

No, it wouldn't. The prize for the match is 14 bitcoins. The value of this tournaments prize in USD is whatever 14 bitcoins are worth when they get sent to the winner. Not what they were worth or will be worth at some point in the past or future.

I think the last time we saw such a close poll vote was Idra vs Jinro isn't it? When we wanted to find out who's the best foreigner at that time History repeating itself. But for what I remember, the games weren't close. Hope for some Good Games this time....
2 days away TB, any info on the map pool? I'm guessing you'll probably just use the blizzard ladder maps because that's what they have most likely been practicing on. Also it'll probably be loser picks? Although a set map pool could be pretty neat because then maybe they could plan specific strategies ahead of time. Then again there isn't much time to plan now with it being 2 days away haha.

Give it 2-3 weeks. Libertarians will hype it back up again. Fundamentally it doesn't make sense but it doesn't have to. Money is all about confidence.
Libertarians finally being good for something I guess. I honestly don't care whether it's 12k, 6k or 5 dollars, neither of these two need the money. I just want to see them play each other.
loll wut??
now pro gamers are making zillions of e-dollars?
Believe it or not, but you can be financially secure without being a millionaire. Both of them are on well established teams and have made plenty of money from SC2 in winnings. A guy who just made 20k last week does not need another 12k, period.
Again, the difference between need and want.
What a socialist way of viewing things. Is there a certain time needed between income before income becomes "needed"? Are people supposed to be careful to not put save too much money at the time?
A guy who made 20k last week could definitely use another 12k, especially if the industry he's in is as instable as esports.
I can't believe I have to go spell this out. How do you read what I wrote and extrapolate that? It's not even a strawman, it's just making shit up.
Need: I need this money to sustain myself.
Want: I want this money to buy stuff for my own personal satisfaction.
If you make 20k and then need another 12k next week, you're an idiot. If you want to stockpile money for the future, that's a not a need thing, that's a want thing. Naniwa and Scarlett can leave Esports and get a regular job at any time. Both of them have made good money and have had a lot of expenses covered by their teams. None of them NEED 12k dollars. What if this showmatch had never taken place? Would they be out on the streets?
No, I'm not a socialist. No, I'm not angry with people making or saving more money than they strictly need. This place sometimes.
Your an idiot. Its a competition, high skill means they get high rewards for winning.

I in fact do have information on the map-pool.
Naniwa and Scarlett negotiated a pool between them (I was there, there was much arguing). We have come up with a 5 map pool on refresh because we believe you'll see higher quality games that way (many pros have argued for smaller map pools for a while). They will be ladder maps yes. Each player vetoed a map until we were left with 1 starting map at which point players took turns picking the rest of the maps in order, so they can prepare for the entire series ahead of time instead of relying on loser picks.

Considering how much more popular is Scarlett, a 50/50 poll about winning means the majority of people think Naniwa would win. Frankly, even if they were in equal shape, it would be a tough close battle most likely, but in this case we will have a very well prepared and very determined Naniwa vs a not caring all that much Scarlett, so it's probably going to be quite the stomp, unfortunately. I'd be cheering for Scarlett though.

Great to hear, I always think having a map pool known for the players ahead of time makes the games that much better to watch. Be nice to finally see a tournament with only 5 maps as well, let's hope this goes to game 7 then so we see some repeats!

I dunno, I mean, Stardust beat Naniwa the last two times they faced, and Scarlett just beat Stardust 3-1. I would be inclined to rate MC as perhaps slightly better than Naniwa; certainly more successful in WCS, and Scarlett recently beat him 2-0 in an absolutely dominant stomp.
She's lost some games to much weaker protoss recently as well, don't get me wrong, but it's not like she can't beat a top level protoss. It's just "coinflippy".

No, it's probably more people just trolling the poll to keep it at 50/50, since you can see the results before you vote.
