Nice back and forth game. Seems like either of these two could take the series. Skill-wise it's pretty even though I believe Scarlett has the better mechanics but Naniwa has the better BOs and series preparation.

The funny thing is he shouldn't have lost the advantage, he had a great engagement and killed almost her whole army.

optergod can only be trusted again if he breaks the metagame. or by starting the game. one of those 2.

It was a great game right up until it became a muta game.

He had templar tech ready to counter the mutas, and even had stargate. But the templar tech would've been enough to stave off the mutas. Naniwa shouldn't have lost that game on paper, even if there was only one stargate at the ready for phoenix production

All these cheap mistakes being made from both players, they're both playing as if they're quite nervous. It really does feel like they're settling who is the best foreigner here Looking forward to the rest of the series, I think the games are only going to get better and better from here.

Finally a good game. Protoss all-ins make for very boring games.

There was a huge window where he could have attacked and killed Scarlett while she was busy droning, but he sat back and took a 3rd. Which isn't an issue, but she kept him back in his base while she took over the map with bases and creep spread.
Fair enough. That random mid-game MCore snipe might have been huge then, when it seemed it didn't matter at the moment.

Regen Muta are such bullshit. In big groups there really is no answer for them.

I wasn't watching the game very carefully but it didn't seem like it to me. I didn't catch the muta timing though so maybe.
With 3+ voidrays and chargelot-archon, he could have crushed Scarlett had he pushed. She only had a token force of roach-hydra, and a morphing spire. After the aggression, she was busy droning as well (she was down 10 workers against Protoss) so there was little army for her.

He also has a lot more competition experience, I think that may factor in quite a lot the longer this goes on.

Yeah, nani with the imba 10 pool speedling semi allin... oh wait!

Really good game from Naniwa. I think he was expecting some roach/hydra all in after he scouted the Hydra den. Unfortunately, there is no way to handle such a huge muta number without 2-3 stargates pumping Phoenix non stop.
