Once again not sure what coverage we can expect, but it'll probably be another predominantly F5-driven affair. Also hoping it starts a bit late (which is usually what happens) otherwise I'm going to still be in a class when the morning group begins.
I willl propably not watch a single game, but I can´t wait to see the results. This is going to be so stacked with so many good players and only 24 spots.
Hoping Ryung, Impact and INnoVation qualify in particular. But I wouldn't be surprised if today is GSL Season 2: The Terrans Strike Back and then like 16 qualify since most of the people in the qualifiers play terran :p
Yeah, completely caught me off guard! Most likely there will be little to no coverage so we will be sitting here waiting for brackets to update. But I'm looking forward to seeing who makes it!
Hoping for Bogus, MKP, Flash, Fantasy, Cure, Dream and all the other Terrans to make it in. I dont really know what Zergs/Protosses are down here anyway

Hm but wouldn't he be on another team already? I mean it would be great, i would love to see him play sc2 again, but he competed in the ssl9 and i don't think we saw him in any qualifier for sc2?

Well whatever, i hope TY makes it!
Khan's contract won't let him leave the team.
So if he did qualify does that mean he's contracted to promote them and give them his some/all of his winnings?
Rooting for all the T1 players. I think Fantasy, Bravo, Journey, Sacsri and Sorry are the only ones not on Code A/S at the moment (which is less than half of the team).
With the level of play Fantasy has showed in SPL and to a lesser extent Sacsri in IEM qualifiers I think that they both have a decent chance of making it through.

Patience and First are playing WCS EU :D And there are bunch of retired guys, so we'll see.
Guess, F5 thread like always, cheering for Stork, Prime and SKT T1 guys to make it. But level of competition will be ridiculous considering amount of losers from last season. Code A will be fierce.
wtf this is on now? And I need to go to sleep because of work in 6 hours? Why, cruel life! Well, after I wake up I hope to see people like Flash, FanTaSy, Cure, Rogue, Stork and TY to make it!

hopefully State can qualify, that'd be pretty cool. Byun, Flash, TY, Byun (if he's not dead??) rare because he's good just never gets to play in PL, Rogue, Sora (or is he already qualified?) and some others I'm sure I just can't think of.
Oh and I hope Creator does NOT make it! He is my SC2 fan rooting nemesis for ruining my almost beautifully constructed FPL team until I got the bright idea of putting him on my Anti-Team. BAHH HUMBUG.

Didn't Monster have a good run at an MLG a while back? Apart from that I don't remember him doing anything notably.
He was a pretty sick teamleague player for MVP, plus he won the Gigabyte esports LAN which was a small tourney but had lots of Koreans. He also got like third at a Dreamhack I think?

Monster is probably just a casual player these days. I think he retired from being a serious pro. At least I figured he would have otherwise I feel like someone would have at least picked him up. I guess he just plays in the qualifiers for fun
I feel kind of nostalgic seeing these brackets, code B isn't as stacked as it used to be (looks like there's about 3 serious contenders for each 2 spots)
There is still very few terrans in gsl even after the morning session. I'm trying to think who might play in the afternoon groups that has a shot. so far i have flash, ty, innovation, gumiho, dream, keen, reality and bravo. Anyone else?

seems kind of silly because he could have beaten him without retiring

So how did you feel about your games today Hyvaa?
Everything went pretty much as expected. Despite not playing professionally I was able to keep my mental control and take the games.
Were there any games that troubled you?
At first I was scared of MKP because he had the same score as Flash in PL. But then I learned how he got his team multiple penalty points leading them to last place and I thought to myself I couldn't lose to such a joker.
Is there anyone you want to thank?
I'd like to thank Inca, BitByBit, Hongun, Shine, Bubbles, Sniper, Has, TheBest and Inca. Even though Sniper didn't make it today I will continue to beat fan favorites and set an example for my Injustice-Dongsens.

I'd like to thank Inca, BitByBit, Hongun, Shine, Bubbles, Sniper, Has, TheBest and Inca. Even though Sniper didn't make it today I will continue to beat fan favorites and set an example for my Injustice-Dongsens.
you might be assuming hyvaa qualified too early. still had to play Miso if he beat MKP

Hongun quit sc2 for an year just so he could comeback and kill MMA's last chance to qualify for Code A with two 1 base blink stalker all-ins and then he lost first round.

IF SC2 was an MMO everyone would be exploiting the shit out of EU for free MMR points.
hyvaa, Sniper, a returning InCa, Tassadar and others should form an unstop- well, relatively stoppable legion of doom. They target our heroes and fan favourites and try to knock them out of stuff.

Nope, but I can basically tell you what happened if they lost or won.
If Flash won - He used mech and cc first builds. If he lost he either died to an all-in or tried to bulldoze his way through and lost everything.
If TY wins - He used cc first and a combination of extreme;y fast paced multitasking and harass. If he lost he probably died to a strong macro Toss like Yonghwa who also mixed in Blink
If Innovation wins - He crushed them. If he lost it was probably an all-in.

His bracket is actually fairly tough relative to a lot of the other ones I would say with BBoongBBoong, Super, and Rogue in it, but still definitely possible. He has qualified for Code A before and Fionn doesn't watch sc2 anymore so maybe his curse will eventually wear off

Well that is too bad. There is a potential of Losira vs. TY in the semifinals of group 6. I would love to watch that... I guess I will periodically refresh the Liquipedia page and imagine the great games in my mind.
in honor of hyvaa here is his interview from daily esports (http://esports.dailygame.co.kr/view.php?ud=2014032615384384255)
Q: How do you feel coming back after two seasons? A: All the games were hard. Even though I'm exhausted I feel good to advance. I want to show the fans memorable games again.
Q: We thought you had retired. How did you decide to make a return? A: The first reason is bcause I had regrets from the last qualifier. Also, I'm realistically at the age where I have to go to the military, but I still had regrets left about by time as a progamer. I competed in the prelims for the sake of my passion.
Q: We heard that you had kept playing. A: I thought that the prelims would be held around March-April. I increased my practice, aiming at this qualifier.
Q: It must have been hard practicing. A: I didn't practice between Nov-Feb. Because I didn't practice, I had trouble following the trends in the game. I watched a lot of games and tried to prepare for recent styles. Everyone thought I had retired, so I had to practice through laddering.
Q: So you're continuing your career as a player? A: Honestly it's easier to get a team if you advance to Code S. Even if I get eliminated, I plan to keep practicing, focusing on the prelims for MLG and the GSL global championship in April. I've reached Code A, and I want to show people I'm still alive. If I can find a team, I want to go somewhere where I can play in a lot of games.
Q: What's your goal for this tournament? A: I want to show people my old skill level. I want to entertain fans with stylish games.
Q: Final comments? A: I'm looking for a team, so I hope a lot of people contact me. Thanks to aLive for accompanying me to the prelims. Also I want to say thank you to l head coach Choi (of STX Soul).

Tassadar should be injustice already. He's been knocking out fan favourites (or at least favored players) his whole career and he's been doing it with mindless, ridiculous cheese. He can go straight up though, and that's the worst part.

The point is, even if it's only a couple more protoss than other races advancing, they're advancing into an even more protoss dominated tournament. It's like Koreans getting into WCS NA, each season gradually a few more come through whilst the foreigners die out. Oh well.

maybe zealously cursed them into all oversleeping. or there might be another exodus attempt at a foreign region although that doesn't seem like a viable option since there are less spots for out of region qualifiers now

Most probably not.
I wish. The games aren't recorded or streamed, unfortunately. Khaldor in the past has streamed some games, but I think just once. The GSL should really take awesome games and broadcast them for fun or something >_<
The funniest bit is that he dropped a game to ryung's 2011 TvP
SlayerS TvP was soooo bad lol
I don't remember GanZi having as bad TvP as ryung or MMA
Ganzi had terrible TvP at one point. He lost every game he didn't 1-1-1. You could look at every one of his TvP series he would 1-1-1 and macro game in each of the first 2 games. Lose the macro game. 1-1-1 in game 3. LR thread explodes in balance whine

Samsung Online Coalition. You realise i'm going to be thinking about kespa players as part of some cyberpunk dystopia now? At least it makes byun's escape even cooler
Samsung Zergs are friendly with Zerg Group Chat.
I know Zerg NA group chat rejected theognis and in sadness he retired from pro gaming.
There is another EU skype chat with Harstem and some other guys I think?
Liquid EU has formed a group now.
Bounty Hunters are in EU.
And all of the old TSL guys: Rag, Symbol,Shine, Hyun, JYP, Polt all practice with each other all the time from what I've heard.

surely being able to successfully 1-1-1 puts him streets ahead of the others though?

Is there an avilo & Reality group as well?
There is a group with Byun and a lot of avilos. I don't think the real avilo is in there, though.

hitmaN is one of the championship calibre guys in my list so watch out for him.
Does that mean we will see him in Proleague soon?
I really did not expect that KT would not send him but TY, Flash, Zest and Stats seem to be the safest option and the new coach will hardly risk so we may hope to see him only in Round 3, if it was Bo7 he would be the regular for KT.

Flash will use his godly powers to only play on Out Boxer vs P, Fantasy will do the same wierd mech-bio hybrid comp he used against Zerg and he'll actually beat Protosses with it, Innovation will just SCV pull his way through and imho TY should be favored in a standard game against most lesser code a Protosses.

Espically when terrans has 56% vs protoss in SPL considering the fact that half of best terrans do not even play there while all best protoss are in SPL. Balance is fine, Code A prelim results are awesome all fan favorites are here all potential stars are here only bad thing is that CJ Entus players did not take part.

I wasn't looking to start a balance debate >.> it was just supposed to be that balanced or not players like Flash and Innovation are much more vulnerable in TvP than TvZ

I am really surprise that the long gone Tester/Trickster/SKS is back , unlucky for him he got a really hard bracket and had to face innovation. This Seasson Code A is super stacked.

They could at least sell more clothing into foreign countries and not having 2 or 3 things in shop.

It would have been amazing if State had made it. But from his recent interview with Acer, it seems like he's been enjoying life in the Prime house and in Korea, which is great to hear. Give him time, and he'll improve
Morning Session, Group 2: was that Tails or Panic who qualified. Liquipedia needs to be amended if it is indeed Panic (where there's a winners interview with Panic)....
