Turtlebro!? Gumiho plays very aggressive and uses a lot of multipronged attacks and fun builds.
Except for in TvZ of course :D
Really excited for Gumiho, hope he goes through!
Better now? Don't know how to combine his name with a towel I like him too and hope he makes it. Haven't seen too much skyhigh, but his TvT really impressed me because he played the right styles on the right maps and was so well prepared vs flash. He got an edge in every game early by being strategically superior and I really admire that out of Terran players.

Much better! :D
I agree, and think this is one of those lovely times where either playing advancing is a good result!

Gumiho plays aggressive mech in tvz. Its like 50/50 though. Sometimes he turtles hardcore, other times he's super aggressive with conventional aggressive mech attacks and unconventional aggressive mech attacks with crazy multitasking and thor drops.

Yeah. I think it's based on how the early game went. If he's ahead after whatever timing he went for, he capitalizes on it by keeping the pressure up. If he didn't deal damage or got totally shut down, he turtles and tries to win that way.

I agree. I think it'll take a pretty big miracle for Stats to pull out a win here. Stats is a capable player, but he isn't that capable!
And yes, I very much prefer the usage of S2SL. I was looking at the upcoming events bar, and saw that SSL was on early tonight ONLY to realize that was BW SSL. And since the SC2 SSL conveniently has a 2 in there, it should obviously be used to distinguish the two tournaments!
Why are the twitch starleague and proleague channels not saveing the VOD of the "past broadcast" of the days games like last season, I'm a sub of proleague channel but dont get anything from it as I can never watch games live and theres no VOD's on twitch as promised when you sub "Access to all Vod's"
I want to sub to starleague channel as well but if they not offering the past broadcast as a VOD its a complete waste of time and money,

They were getting better all of last season, just the circlejerk bashing them all the time, Wolf in particular. They're both still partial to a miscall, but I appreciate the enthusiasm they both bring, especially in the finals last year

Need a showmatch.
If you provide the prizepool, all it'd take would be a donation and a request to Madals or BaseTrade, and they'd do their best to make it happen. (Which would probably not be enough during Proleague.)
SkyHighs TvT in broodwar was like noone elses, You could tell it was him just by looking at his playstyle. He has the same "style" for lack of better words, in S2 I have to say. Such fun ...

Never beat anyone from Korea in TvT either? He beat likes of MMA and stuff? Has he beaten Flash or Innovation? Or Maru etc xD
Do we count Innovation, Ryung, Taeja, MMA, Jjakji, Dream, Heart, Yoda, TheSTC, Gumiho, Polt, Supernova as koreans or not? If none of them are from korea then i guess you're right xD
Well, I just saw an email inviting me to the Heroes alpha. If I had a mouse and a laptop that could run things that were more intensive than Hearthstone, this would be cool.

I was serious about the showmatch thing, BTW. If we were to all chip in a few bucks to the PayPal of a trusted forum vet (Lorning, would you agree?), I'm positive we can make it happen through either BaseTrade's Money $peak$ program or Madals's Dingit partnership.

However much it would take to get them both to play. I'd think that we'd need to combine for $500 at least. We'd obviously need to get more people than what I expect we'll get in this one thread.

Let's make this a thing.
An actual crowdfunding page isn't reasonable, we'd have to give things like donor rewards for that. We'd need to do informal crowdfunding, and that's pretty much what we're doing now.

All by ourselves, probably not, yeah, depends if an established structure (such as BaseTradeTV) could get involved

BaseTrade has a system in place. If you want a showmatch to happen, give them the prize money and the players you want, and they'll do all they can to get those players, then they'll make a date and time and they'll cast it.

That was really cool by Inno. Knowing he'd sniped the robo, and that the viking count would make Colossi a joke, pulling the boys was totally the move to do here

I still remember seeing Bomber pull the boys in one of my first live matches, and even though I was rooting for his opponent, I instinctively pulled my arm down twice to show the SCV train leaving the station. At least 2 guys behind me went "Choo choo!"

That's like saying 'Soul Train' is overused. It's only noticeable because SCV pulls are the current go-to build in mid game TvP; you're essentially complaining that they're calling the build by what it's come to be known as
Right, but the phrase itself is overused during the game. What's wrong with "SCV pull"?
It just sounds silly when it's used 10X a game.

More or less real than skyhigh making Ro4 in Hot6ix Cup?
Championship ≠ RO4
I'm saying that whether you want to be pessimistic or not players sometimes perform better than you expect, especially recently, so let's not "be real"

maru lost to MarineKing trying to qualify for that tournament.
And?...
sKyHigh did way better in stacked tournament than Maru did? Maru has not been good in individual leagues the past few months. I don't think he'll make it too far.

Stats earned that win. He played to his strengths and exploited Innovation's weaknesses. Innovation kind of lost me as a fan in that series, very boring, stubborn play, and didn't show any of the willingness to adapt that Stats did. Seriously, does Innovation not know about ghosts?

Well I guess you werent a proper fan then
I was never a huge fan of Inno, always preferred Terrans like Maru/Bbyong. But I was somewhat of a fan. I just don't enjoy the stale TvP style that Innovation seems hell-bent on playing.

When would he have had a chance to build Ghosts? He was far too behind in both macro games (KSS and Overgrowth) to start building them.

his play in GSL round of 32 in his championship run was the most infuriating and unconvincing play I had seen in a long time. Life advanced first in that group because he he misplaced his zealot in the wall at his gold on Habitation. It's also why I am angry at Hydra for throwing some of those games even harder.

Terrans rely a lot on more defined playstiles The ones who win are those know for their mechanical aspect.
I don't remember a terran winning a korean championship using non-standard builds since Mvp.

That's partly why I was saying that I used to be somewhat of a fan, but I just found his style in this series to be very boring and stale. Stats, on the other hand, I thought played very intelligently.

and also because despite what korean sc fans tend to think, even the best players in the world are prone to variance that causes them to show awful games and it doesn't automatically mean they're not on elite form

He had no chance of winning if he were to try and come back economically in the last game. While I would have liked to see him play a bit more of a long game, I don't think he ever had a great opportunity for it. If you look at game 3, the first game he lost, he was so far behind in econ. that he was easily crushed.

Indeed. Once you played a season of EPS your PvP is just unreal. Zest probably had a smurf there aswell, thats how he became this good in PvP
Well, there is a player called Zeth in EPS. Sounds suspicious to me.

i guess ill have to watch PvP
you make it sound like watching PvP is such a terrible thing.
it's a boring matchup unless proxy bullshit happens
it's actually a perfect example of what blizz means when they always talk about invisible micro. pvp macro engagements are actually ridiculously complex, probably among the most complex in the game, but it always just looks like incoherent war of the worlds shit
but aside of that it is both players sitting on their asses after natural has been stabilized

Oh wow yeah, totally forgot that haha looks like we really found something here

Innovation kind of lost me as a fan in that series, very boring, stubborn play, and didn't show any of the willingness to adapt that Stats did. Seriously, does Innovation not know about ghosts?
What do Ghosts even have to do with that series...
What does that even mean?
What do ghosts "have to do with that series?" Uh, Innovation plays Terran? That's what they have to do with that series. I enjoy ghost play in TvP, not SCV pulls every game, that's my point.
Ghosts (or lack thereof) weren't the problem here.
Completely irrelevant to the fact you want to see ghosts.
I'm not saying the lack of ghosts was the problem...I'm saying ghost-less, stubborn SCV-pull styles are fairly boring in my opinion.
Doesn't like boring play.
Has SKT T1 "I hate watching my own games" soO in his sig.
He got more fun to watch for a while before he broke inside.

Dear not looking invincible yet, but in my mind he never truly did even at his peak. It was more for me a case of him managing to win in unwinnable odds and make the best of most situations, although I was just a gold newbie at the time.
I don't even know how stats managed to beat innovation. What an upset for a player of innovations calibre to lose to stats. Big upset. Innovation falling into another slump?

Stats isn't a top5 toss...
In PvT he is
Funny, I remember him being really good at PvZ.
Could he be... good ?
No. Stats is a player where every pro says he overachieves in broadcast matches. No one has ever said Stats is a good player or destroying in practice.

Comeback king of 2014 baby
INnoVation vs Welmu DH
Randomly decided to pick a page for Terran tears because of Stats comeback.
Scroll down, see this, and remember that series.
Just making sure people know I got what I deserved. TT
Christ there is so much Stats hate in this thread and in the post match ratings lol. Lots of bitter Inno fanboys don`t wanna accept that it was a good series overall, with Stats out-playing and out-thinking Inno in the end.

I was rooting for stats, and am very happy that he won, especially in the 0-2 into 3-2 fashion he did, but I didn't think it was a great series. If I didn't know who the players were, I don't know if i would have even enjoyed it very much.
