whoa arent Toodming and Jim basically the 2 strongest China players right now?
and they have to face each other to get in, 1 is in and the other is eliminated from WCS?
going to be good match!

in other words, go the good looking people!

going to be good match! I'd say Top is a bit better than TooDMinG right now.
Here's China's ranking according to Aligulac : http://aligulac.com/periods/128/?nats=CN&page=1

Iasonu and XY get banned from WCS 2014 for win-trading with each other, then get matched with each other to guarantee one of them a spot on Premier to start WCS 2015. Funny how life works out, I suppose.

Hoping for XY, Jim, Xigua, and Top
Always rooting for TooDming and XiGua.. I'll try to catch some of this during Code S tonight!
I've never seen an early pool wind up that effective. WP Toodming to tie the series up.
I think when you cheese someone in the early part of a series, you shouldn't be surprised when you see Cannons at your natural the next game. (Jim leads 2-1)
Oh wow, Toodming-Jim is gonna go to the ace match.
That was not how you evecute a proxy Rax. 1-0 to iAsonu in the second series.
Some excellent use of Thors drives XY forward to take the second game.
Due to the power cut of iG‘s base, the game of iA against XY will delay. (there are four people in iG‘s base: Jim, XY, MacSed and Cloudy. XiGua is in the home of Chengdu. iA is in his university.) the game of XiGua against Clavie will start first.
I missed what exactly happened, but we're apparently changing serieses to Xigua and Clavie.
EDIT: Thank you, Thickertom. I saw you helping out a lot in the NeoTV chat, too. Thanks for contributing to the scene.
Did XiGua play WC3 back then?
is this real ratio or are they stretching the "original" 4-3 to 16-9 resolution?
On January 14 2015 22:04 Dingodile wrote: is this real ratio or are they stretching the "original" 4-3 to 16-9 resolution? It's 16:10 most likely. If you are using VLC, you can change it by pressing "A".
wasn't this supposed to be played on the old map pool? I thought Rifkin said that the challenger league was to be played on the old map pool, while the premier league would be played on the new map pool...
Nice to see the new maps. I'm curious as to how pro players play on them.
XiGua 3-0, happy birthday!
Xigua completely outclassed Clavie. A dominant performance to get into Premier.

XY's control seems to have drastically improved since I saw him back in WCS 2013
XYs splits really strong. He could do well against the Europeens in WCS
That was a fun game. New maps looking good.
The off-language stream for the obscure-region qualifier, casted by relative unknowns at a time very inconvenient for a large portion of the English-speaking audience, broke 2,000 viewers at one point and it still hovering near it now. That's a healthy scene, yo.

I am also a bit confused about this.

Wait the supplies were quite close, how did xigua just bane bust XY off creep like that?
Edit: Game 3 ending

There's been conflicting information about a lot of things. Hell, this might even fall under the category of regional variation (one region does one thing, another region can choose to do another). But I'd be surprise if THAT was the case.

Edit: Game 3 ending iAsonu, not Xigua. Xigua already qualified. And the previous engagements were done without Baneling Speed, so maybe that finishing caught XY off-guard.

I think he meant that the qualifiers would be played out with the old maps but challanger and premier with the new ones and he just said it wrong unintantionally
Edit: it would make way mor sense to make ALL challanger league games on the new map pool, because it is already out, which wasn't the case with the qualifiers

if MacSed wins, iG got all 4 spots, not bad.

http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2015_WCS_Season_1 shows that Qualifiers and Challenger Maps are the 2014 S3 maps.

Mostly I just said that it would make more sense to use the new maps, but as you point out liquipedia, you must know that it is made by people whos sometimes don't have all the sources and it most definitly is.not a site without false information

Are there lag spikes on the stream?
Can't tell if I need to reset my internet connection or not.

People complain about turtle mech a lot, but this game is pretty awesome. Especially considering this is the ace match.

This last game is an absolute slugfest, I love it.

I think messioso's statement about the maps only applies to ESL's qualifiers so the other regions can pick their own map pool.

WOW, iAsonu is going to WCS Premier!
Wow that was a sick game, I thought at several points that the Zerg was probably dead, or at least way behind.
XY is not NucleaR. iAsonu got the Premier for the first time.
And now, we come to Top, the most absurd Protoss you'll see all week. (When he played MacSed earlier this month in the GPL, the deciding map went into a base trade before either player had secured a natural.)

It's pretty good. We shouldn't forget that there's ~65k viewers on the chinese stream too.

How Top got that Oracle out alive, I may never know.

He'll just proxy for the win.

Top forgot to research his Zealot Charge, otherwise he could have won the last battle on game 2. He also had the economic advantage after his storm drop on MacSed's base.

That ought to do it. Invictus sweeps the Chinese spots in Premier - Jim, MacSed, Xigua, and iAsonu are going to the WCS Main Event.

I got half of what I wanted in my original post but I can't be disappointed with either iAsonu or MacSed making it. Good pool of players from China
