September has arrived, which means a new school year and a new season of the Collegiate Starleague’s Starcraft tournament. With the introduction of Archon mode, things are a bit different. But, this year promises to be bigger and better, with more titles on the roster, more teams in the league, more prize money, and more events!
Who Are We? The Collegiate Starleague is the world’s first collegiate gaming organization. Founded in 2009, the CSL began with 25 teams participating in a semester-long Starcraft tournament. This year, we will be running a year-long season in 5 titles--Starcraft, League of Legends, Dota, Hearthstone, and CS:GO--and are looking to grow our team registrations from last year’s 500!
What Does The Season Look Like? Teams can expect to play a match every Saturday at 20:00 GMT (+00:00).We are also broadcasting games regularly through the week, so your team may be selected (with plenty of advance notice) to play during the week on our stream! The stream dates for Starcraft are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 03:00 GMT (+00:00).
For an overview of the season, see the schedule below:
- October 10: Week 1
- October 17: Week 2
- October 24: Week 3
- October 24: Week 3
- October 31: Week 4
- November 7: Week 5
- November 14: Week 6
- November 21: Week 7
- November 28: RESCHEDULE WEEK
- **BREAK FOR FINAL EXAMS, CHRISTMAS, NEW YEAR: NO CSL MATCHES
- January 9: Week 8
- January 16: Week 9
- January 23: Week 10
- January 30: Week 11
- February 6: Week 12
- February 13: Week 13
- February 20: Week 14
- February 27: BREAK
- March 5: PLAYOFFS BEGIN
How Does The Season Work? Tournaments for all games will start on October 10th, beginning the first of two Round-robins that will make up the entire regular season. The first Round-robin will feature geographic conference play, as well as Archon mode 2v2s. This half will be used to determine seeding for the second Round-robin.
When Can I Register? Registration is open now, and closes on September 30th. All you need is 4 fellow Starcraft players that attend your university! Don't have LotV Beta? You will get a key upon registration! Gather up your team, and head over to cstarleague.com to create an account.
Any full-time student attending a North American college or university is eligible to participate. Chances are that your university already has an established e-sports club, in which case we encourage you to seek them out and get some teams together to participate in our league.
Where Can I Go For More Information? Please check out our website for more details. You can also find guides for starting your own CSL team on campus, articles about past and upcoming events, the rules for this year’s Starcraft tournament, and a list of currently registered teams.
Please contact starcraft@cstarleague for any questions regarding the technicalities of registration or website issues, or for any other questions you may have!
Good luck, and have fun!

Only if you play all the games at the same time on different PCs. That would be impressive!
