Long time reader, first time poster! Couldn't believe it myself. They are giving 1.5M to CS GO & Dota 2 . As SetGuitarsToKill said above, 400K is peanuts!

It is real and confirmed. The first tournament includes Dota2, CS:GO, lotv and Heartstone. The total prize pool is at least $5.5 million, which 1.5M for dota2 and cs:go, and 400k for Starcraft 2, 300k for Heartstone. The tournament will begin on April and global final will be on December in China. However, it is unknown how the tournament will be organized now.

Not much details into specific tournaments though, its mainly business terms. And they did not mention the prizepool for specific games in the official release, so i do not know where esprts. com got their numbers

So with 3.7 million covered for those four games....where is the other 1.8 million going? Heroes of the Storm and Overwatch? a man can dream...

If you have to think that the organization is the same as WCA and The Shanghai Major of Dota2, I have no words to say to you.

I read the original announcement and it is just some PR thing that is nowhere near informative. If it is okay to ask, which company they choose the organize the event? Or they are going to do it themselves?

If they are going to build a team from scratch then I can see why digmouse think this would be badly organized...
