Rooting for soO from now on.
what are you talking about ? All the favorite Terrans are eliminated (only 1 advanced by TvT) and you are here, still complaining about wm ?

It's simply because Terran losing in two incredibly close sets does not mean that Terran isn't imbalanced. I mean two fairly equally skilled people can win against each other on a given day, and one race can be stronger than the other.
But regardless, soO, Stats, sOs, and Ryung are left, and they are all players who have done well in tournaments but have never won a GSL before. I think it is very gratifying that this GSL will be a great storyline for anyone of this players.
I mean Ryung:Avenging his ro4 loss to finally claim the GSL sOs:Blizzcon and IEM champion finally adds the elusive GSL to his titles soO: Ultimate vindication and ending of his Kong line Stats: Out of the shadows to win his first Premier tournament
I mean these guys have never won a Starleague, but they've all come within at least a ro4 of making it.

I don't think that's him complaining about widow mines as much as it is him saying Blizzard are gonna nerf them no matter how the Terrans would have done.

But you said he was gonna win with positioning in spite of doom drops. Not that he's gonna win because of doom drops. And Maru going for the "Throw of the Century" award.
Throw of the century? Even though that Has game happened?
I enoyed today's games, was really happy for Ryung that he made it through. Also quite shocked at the amount of negativity in Twitch chat during the games though. (On re-reading that last sentence, I shouldn't have been.) I'll admit I enjoy watching GSL more with Tastosis too, but there's other ways to voice your criticism. So, Rapid and Valdez: thanks for casting, but next time I would enjoy some actual analysis of the games being played.

It terms of what actually happened in game. Has was a bigger throw, he could have done anything and won but he choose to sit on 5K/5K and litterally not do anything, then suicide most of his army.
In terms of perspective, Maru's blunder was a much smaller mistake (unseigeing all his tanks at once) but cost him a lot more (he could very well have taken this GSL), wheras Has would have qualified for a cup and been knocked out straight away.
I guess it's debatable I guess which is the bigger throw

exactly this, but some people seem to be rather short-tempered here

literally a puny god
Dunno i think overall Maru's results are amazing tbh. Especially when we add proleague as well (we should) His only failure really is that he couldn't win a GSL yet, but his results in GSL aren't bad by any means.

Well "most skilled" is surely true. As in the total skill players have increases over time (a lot of it due to metagame development). Though if we talk about mechanical skill only i don't think that top players these days are necessarily better than top players three years ago. At least not by any meaningful margin. Like you have to practice certain things a lot to even manage to stay at the same mechanical lvl. I will use a BW example here because i watch a lot of JD's stream and iirc he even said that the muta micro simply isn't the same anymore. back in the day the zerg players trained that aspect of the game every single day for a few hours on custom maps. Now nobody does that, it's not on the same lvl anymore. Point being: Mechanical skill doesn't necessarily increase over time when we are basically at the limit what humans can do anyway. No we won't see better marine splits in the future even though that AI showed it is theoretically possible.
Oh and what i personally mean when i question the concept of most skilled era is actually the lvl of competition in general. So many top talents retired over the years, everybody capable of beating top players with enough preparation, etc. I am not even only talking about people like Parting, Rain, Soulkey, Life, Flash, Taeja. I am also talking about people like Jangbi, Effort, Last, Fantasy, etc. It's not comparable to the lvl of competition a few years ago. Some people even think the competition was more fierce back when Mvp won his titles, i disagree though. It's comparable to now though all things considered imo.
