I'm starting to think we're going to actually get that. Given ByuL's newfound ZvZ skill he'll probably want to be swapped in there and Stats owes him..
then Dark will probably be one of the last picked, so...

Why would he risk his guaranteed win against Maru for a trade to ZvZ coinflips
Maru is one of the best TvZ in Korea and up until their last encounter has really had his number in LotV. ByuL's ZvZ is quite lethal as of late as well.

You can't rely on ZvZ for anything. Not to mention Stats has no obligation to do what ByuL wants.

That's not true, you can rely on soO to fuck you up.
I'm quite excited for every single group for the Ro16. Usually there is at least one group where I really don't care for and end up skipping that group entirely. This season though, lot of good players spread between all groups making for lots of interesting matches. Can't wait!
Also, was there any news on the map pool going forward? I know they said they were changing the map pool up once they got to the Ro16 (like they did last season as well.) Just curious if they mentioned anything during the group draw since I didn't see it live.

The last time they played an official match was for the WESG korean qualfier (7 months ago). TY won 3-0, but that was the only match he ever won vs Innovation

Thanks. I was hoping for something more recent since Innovation rededicated himself to SC2, but that might be worth watching if I can find a vod.
As if inno cares about group of death. Although thinking about it he would have won GSL last season if he didn't get cocky vs Stats and lose that 2-0 lead haha
Group A - Stats Byul
Group B - leaning on Inno and Classic. Mainly because classic almost only has PvT in the near future
Group C - herO and byuN I guess, but Dear and rogue can both make it out over herO in a decider match
Group D - soO and Dark. Maru's very questionable, his TvZ was looking amazing until the byul fail on monday. And he carried TvZ in race wars iirc. He could 4-0 this group, but he could also lose a final match vs Dark.
Just realised, providing TY and Inno get out their group, and ByuN and Maru both finish either 1st or 2nd, all "four horseman" will be ro8 in different groups. A four horseman ro4 isn't THAT unrealistic

the 4 horsemen, herO, Stats, Dark and Byul would be a sick ro8. But I don't expect all terrans to get to ro4. Especially Maru isn't in the form right now and I wouldn't favor Byun against herO/Stats/Dark/Byul either.

If the ro16 goes as most generally predicted (which it never has) the ro8 groups would be something like this

The fact that he's got only one matchup for train for makes him favoured to a lot of people. Inconsistancy is hard to judge though, for example he carried TY and Inno against soO/Dark/Solar in race wars, which indicates maybe the best TvZ in korea. But then he lost 0-2 to Byul on monday
He's in much better form than byuN though that's for sure, but he has a much harder group. I still think people are too hard on Maru this year. In season 1 he was the only player to go undefeated in maps until the ro8, people only talk about his losses

TvT is his weakest matchup, but that says more about his impressive TvP and unparalleled TvZ than it does about his TvT. Inno, aLive and TY are very, very evenly matched and they all have pretty much 50/50 chances against each other. It's anyone's guess as to who wins the mirrors in Group B.
Gumiho, TY, Inno, and aLive are all more or less tied in TvT skill. While TY has the best TvP and INnoVation has the best TvZ there's nobody that's really the best at TvT.

TY has the best TvT, it's confirmed since he beat the GOAT 4-0 in semifinal of GSL S1 2016
