Should I stay on the conference until a potentially controversial and thus possibly funny talk or should I go to my hotel and watch noregret kick ass?
In other news, I had pink Tropicana yesterday and it is really tasty, however I almost vomitted afterwards. Some soft drinks do that to me, I think it's some particular chemical that my stomach can't handle.
I just want NoRegret to do well because he's one of the last people I think would actually do well (of the people I think could make it) in the GSL.
I think he'll be out first with 0-4 with maybe a map win against Trap in the loser's match...but with the way the Korean tournaments have been going...who knows?
Btw. thinking about it, the biggest problem of the GSL studio is the lack of wifi. If I could have shitposted from there, that would have been perfect.

yeah you're right this is the best plan, not revealing his trumps too early

Also the next two games. So that he wins the last match. The losers losers final.

tbf that build was very original and clever
Samsung Protoss players were doing it a year ago.
in lotv ? Maybe that was at the time I had stopped playing and watching altogether, I don't remember seeing that ever. Or was it when nobody had figured out lurkers actually sucked ?

Not against foreigners he isn't. (14-0 in matches)
NoRegreT is no ordinary foreigner
He actually has a positive winrate vs Korean Zergs
this is what I meant, I'm really convinced he can get to the decider. I'm less convinced about the ZvP, but if he hid his best builds I have mild hopes.
Sick plays by Trap. Hope he crushes herO now ! And No-Regret is a hilarious dude, but he is gonna get abused sooo hard by Dark, I dont know if I wanna watch that haha

blink collossus vs Z
only in the last game ; g1 he opened chargelot into DT pressure into a normal immortal storm chargelot game he lost because of one abysmal fight ; g2 Dark went for a very aggressive ravager all-in and Trap managed a clutch hold, went on to win the game easily afterwards (Dark was on 30 drones vs 50 probes).
herO is just disgusting... I used to love his plays but since LOTV I feel like he just cheeses in almost every game and abuses the Protoss BS as much as he can. Bleh, no fun at all in this :/ Come on Trap defend better

herO has always played to win, he is no stranger to playing the trickster

I like how herO plays, primarily when he plays against sOs. Hopefully, they will play against each other this GSL season again.

He used to play macro games in HotS though.
If "proxy twilight blink all-in every other game" is macro then yes

I'm waiting on MajOr to decide if this batch of foreigners in GSL was a total failure or not. And then GSL vs the world is gonna be either interesting or hilarious

MajOr has a very doable group considering sOs' form. So he's gonna lose 0-4 somehow

he should get second in his group, probably gonna end up being protossed.

His best performances this year were all at weekenders though and his IEM group is doable enough.
It's a bad time of year to be out of the top 8 though. Considering almost everyone in the 6-12 region can get points from GSL, and iem/super tournament. Gsl ro8 gives more points than iem 2nd place
Jake seems like such a nice guy and hate to say bad things about him but Jesus his games were horrendous... Poor macro, supply block, fly a flock of overlords to opponent's side so they can kill them even faster. He stood no chance vs Koreans but I was hoping for a better showing. Well, this only makes Impact looks worse. How he can lose to this twice is beyond me.
Oh well, all expected players move on. Feel bad for Trap. He is a good player.

When you compete in such a tournament for the first time, you'll probably perform far worse than your actual abilities. That's why most foreign pros will need to participate in others GSL before we can accurately rate them against KR players (for example it took a lot of time for Mvp to become the GOAT, Bomber was a ladder hero but qualified to code S very very late, ByuN showed potential but it took him a lot of time, etc...)
We should encourage foreign pros to participate again and not try to shame them of their performance / praise KR too much imo (not everybody does it but there is clearly a double standard sometimes)

I mean, Mvp's Jan 2011 run was an utter destruction of everyone in Code S. But Nestea, IIRC.

I am talking about Open Seasons: FruitDealer, NesTea, MC. Iirc Mvp under performed in these events compared to what he was meant to become. In the first three seasons respectively the mvp terran (haha) was Rainbow, then MarineKing and Rain, not mvp

I agree with you and all. But be real here, NoRgret's style is why I never root for him while I very much enjoy Elazer, Scarlett, TIME and Major's performances at GSL. They played solid games with great macro/micro skills and mixed some cheese here and there. They (minus Major) didn't get out but they showed the skills which are on pair with Koreans. Just need to polish a bit better. Cheesy play can get you so far until the point it makes you like you didn't know how to play the game properly. What to improve in cheesy games? Cheese better? Be more cheesy? I'm sorry but no thank you.

There is a difference between rooting for someone, and promoting a toxic mindset. If the guy that posted is genuine about being a fan of NoRegret, he should be careful with what he says publicly / try to create a virtuous circle of kindness instead of a vicious / toxic one imho.
About NoRegret style being legitimate to cheer for, that's not the point so I don't know what to say about it?
