Nice to see round robin groups, always thought they were better than typical GSL format

Have to agree, although I imagine the reason why a lot of tournaments adopted the GSL group format over the years has to do mostly with time and logistics constraints.
Worst case scenario, it saves you having to have one extra match.
Best case scenario, it saves that + any hassle whatsoever that would be associated with tiebreakers.
At the same time despite their disruption of tournament scheduling and work hours, tiebreakers can be a lot of fun to watch when it results in extra matches being played.

Actually win a set does not means 3 point, 2-0 gives you 2 points and 1-1 gives 1, so it's basically only how many single maps you won that matters. If a tie, then check head to head result, if still a tie, then a bo1 tie breaker match will be played.

Solar has struggled against protoss all year. Shame because his ZvT is actually incredible,
|
wow dark gumi is turning out to be a great series, anybody else watching this g5?
|
It was an excellent series. Gumigod played really well, and exchanged well on all engagements, but Dark's economy seemed to withstand all the blows. Can we now complain about how OP a tier 3 zerg is?
|
watching the games from Dark's FPVOD, I think a lot of it is how expendable his bases are. Literally before a hatch dies he's already queued up an expansion on the other side of the map, and he almost never does a head on engagement (at least in G5, missed the earlier games).
Could this be better countered by leaving more libs at home? Dark sacrificed 5 ultras on a PF + lib + tank and didn't even kill the PF or lib, think Dark's entire gameplan is to do damage at all costs so seems like doing more of this defensive play could work better?

One of the worst engagements I've ever seen
|
Catallena is probably my favourate map right now. Not sure about the balance, but I always enjoy games on it. Huge open spaces for engagements, no free 3rd (not compared to other lotv maps at least), and spread out bases. But so many cheeses/pushes are still viable
|
That game 4... That build belongs in the Book of Protoss Bullshit.
|
hahahah herO's game is salt inducing as always

I used to like herO back in HotS but these days I can't even watch his games, they're so disgusting. At least sOs is creative with his cheese.

I never liked herO tbh. He doesn't have the entertainment factor of sOs or Has's cheese. That and he seems to be the protoss who exploits balance issues the most (like blink allins, adept pheonix etc). He always feels undeserving when he wins
(His latest supertournament run showed some good games though)
|

Same.
herO is really strong but when i see that he his playing against a terran or a zerg I usually just don't watch, it will just make me salty af.
|
I've said this before, but herO's best skill is choosing what build/strategy to use for each map beforehand. In most of his games, whatever strat he picks from the start will simply either win or lose. It's rare to see back and forth action, on the fly decision making etc
|
Liquidpedia already has a 3rd one of these events listed. Anyone got a source/confirmation on that?
