Message from Ting Jesse:
Hey StarCraft fans! So glad to be back working with BaseTradeTV to run another season of the Ting Open. I'll be in Twitch chat as much as possible, so if you see me, be sure to say hi and feel free to ask me any questions you have about Ting!
If you're interested in Ting, use bttv.ting.com to get $25 off your bill or $25 off a new phone in the Ting shop. Keep in mind that if you donate to Matcherino and choose a Ting SIM card as a reward, you'll receive the Ting SIM card for free. This will also help us increase the prize pool.
If you have any questions, feel free to email me (jesse@ting.com) - I'd be glad to help!
Can't wait for the Ting Open to start - LETS GO NEEB!
- Jesse
Ting will be partnering with Matcherino (https://matcherino.com/tournaments/8081) to allow crowd funding & rewards to help increase the prize pool! Ting will be contributing a base prize pool of $4,000 with many incentives to increase it further.
1st place - 30% 2nd place - 15% 3rd place - 10% 4th place - 5% 5-8th place - 4% 9-16th place - 1%
This season we're going with a mostly invite system. There will be only two qualifiers, open to anybody from any region to compete in.
The full tournament will be online only, no offline finals this time we're afraid. It will feature two group stages (RO32 & RO16) consisting of "WCS style" groups showcasing Bo5 matches, leading into a RO8 single elimination Bo5. There will be a 3rd/4th place match, along with both semifinals continuing the Bo7 trend, with an eventual Bo9 Grand Finals!

...to avoid confusion, which is the correct starting time for KR Group 1? ...on TL calendar it is set at 6:00am CEST while in this thread it says 1:00pm CEST...

Stats vs InnoVation on first round? That look too early for them to meet. But on other hand. That should give them good insight on their opponent into Blizcon.

Had mixed up the time zones for EU/KR, should be corrected now

Update: ByuN has forfeited out due to family commitments involving the current holiday in Korea.
Elazer will be taking his place in the group!
|
Elazer beat Gumiho, wow what a god
|
No kr stream this time around? aw damn.
|
Is neeb playing today for sure? Or he gonna forfeit it due to some other commitments?
|
|
Good job Elazer! that 3-0 Gumiho was sooooo flawlessly done!

I'm glad to see him around again after he suddenly disappeared from social media and Twitch. I don't think he'll forfeit this for any reason. It's his sponsor's event and he gets a free seed after all

puCK did not control his Colossi at all during that engagement.
|
Elazer what a god 6-2 Gumiho, even soO couldn't do that
|
|
What happened to Kelazhur?
|
jonsnow vs khelazur, he forfeited?
Edit: Kelazhur no-show, forfeited first match as per twitter:
|
Stephano just 3-0 Heromarine, with very good games =D
|
Is snute playing from korea at 4 am or is he back in Europe?
|
They (he and TLO) said they'd be back for the WESG qualis, which in Snute's case is tomorrow... So my guess is they're back in EU now. But I don't know for sure

Thank you!

Just caught the final moments of Stats vs Hero. Those Adepts destroying the mineral line sealed the win for herO despite losing the battle.
|
We're looking into locking down dates but just letting folks know we're looking at Oct 19th for the Ro16 KR Group & Oct 20th for the Ro16 EU Group
|
Updates for RO16 scheduling:
KR Group: October 19th 4AM PDT
EU Group: Octobher 20th 10 AM PDT
NA Group: October 19th 5PM PDT
|
|
So it's the KotN semi finals all over again.
|
That first game, rofl. The pacifist strategy.
|
|
Elazer beat Stats WOW, what a beast unless Stats was hiding builds for Blizzcon
|
Solar is so strong atm; he could 70% of Blizzcon participants anyday
C'mon Elazer, beat herO please
|
Elazer getting rekt... a preview of what's to come at blizzcon
|
I really dislike Statis Wards...
|
go Elazer, don't let herO win this

Is it correct to let a player that you can 100% beat by playing offrace and then playing you main in decider match...

Waiting to contact players but posting this early so everyone knows where we're at. This is what the current schedule from now to the finish of the Ting Open looks like, but please keep in mind it is not currently 100% locked in

Maybe that was too many infested terrans to spam at one time when she attacked those two bases. That plus the templar and she had no energy left when the fight happened. Outskilled, maybe, but he also got a bit lucky :p
|
Scarlett uses so much of her infestor energy harassing DnS's bases, doesn't have enough when the fights happen, then complains about infestors not being auto-win.
|
Well, time to start all ining

The ling counter attack was a mistake at the end there, though I'm not sure it would have made a difference. Shield batteries counter counters. I thought when she got the oracles it was a win but you can never underestimate the power of Protoss

Protoss took the worst engagements possible but it didn't even matter.

With that many Oracles and not quite as enough anti-air, it was a disaster waiting to happen. But of course, she may not have known that because she doesn't see everything like we do.
RIP $6 bet.

It is hard to say if it was a huge mistake. With delayed tech after the initial all in, turtling would have ceded a lot of map control to DnS and possibly let him go skytoss which Scarlett doesn't like.

Ya I don't think she had constant queen production up until that point, which she needed but may not have known she needed. Its hard to tell, I'm still hoping for a bigger oracle nerf

That was a huge game of throws. What the hell was Impact thinking?

Is that how oracles supposed to work? Jesus...

I really thought that those 12 immortals were going to cause Mana problems, but Impact having no bank to speak of for most of that game prevented him from countering that composition.

That's a good point - his play has seemed off this series

all protoss semi-finals incoming

...seems pretty much balanced right now...

protoss players are just better
weird how that constantly changes

They train harder, for sure
|
I should have known the time zone would have affected Impact's play. Don't know why I didn't take that into consideration. Lost $12 and I'm so tilted.
|
France too strong today ?
|
did we just jinx a replay pack?

MaNa is out of the semi-finals, and impact has been revived in his place
