Gogo stephano, he can beat Heromarine twice ! However he is so doom in zvz!

Only took 35 minutes to get some gameplay

Solid micro from Serral in that engagement. Perfect repositioning to keep his reinforcement stream protected, swinging just enough roaches up to the north to get a surround and push on new waves.
|
Was some good roaching by Joona.
|
Serral just always looks like he knows something about using roaches that his opponent doesn't in ZvZ. It's weird to watch how he'll go into a maxed engagement against say Nerchio, and just crush it. Like same upgrades and all, but it doesn't matter.

Are we really still doing the "Stephano doesn't care, practice, or study at all" meme?
|
|
Stephano is so freaking disappointing, I am done with him, it hurts too much honestly.
|
God damn Serral is so good - he always sets up for amazing engagements.
|
I don't think that was particularly impressive play from Serral. I think HeRoMaRinE didn't split well enough versus the Banelings. Basically, standard Zerg is easier than Terran at WCS Circuit level, so Zerg dominates.
|
Well between these games and GSL, feels like we won't have good games/series today. At least commentators are trying to hype the game a bit, props to them

how is the seeding here? group A seems really imbalanced compared to other groups.. HM and Serral were TOP4 last EU WCS.. and had good results also in Austin. A bit sad for HM, still congrats to Namshar.
About Stephano, he is in a great form.. 7k mmr.. and got in a group with Serral and HM.. bad luck I guess.

Would like to know what kind of a system they have instead of 1 invited + 1 GM + 2 qualified in each group.

they form 4 pools according to wcs points here it was: pool 1: serral (1), mana (7), showtime (4), nerchio (6) pool 2: heromarine (10), snute (8), lambo (9), uthermal (13) pool 3: stephano (19), ptitdrogo (24), bly (15), sortof* (34) pool 4: namshar* (34), rail (98), soul (38), clem (47)
then for group A one player is picked randomly from each pool then the same for groups b and c
seems like it was just pure bad luck for heromarine and stephano to get into that group
challenger rule book
*namshar and sortof were tied -> got randomly put into their pool (3 or 4)

Both favorites lost their first match, huh.

Bly is just so funny to watch, nydus/muta ni zvz and a win against lambo :D

that was actually so good by Bly

So is proxy rax/bunker vs. Zerg stronger right now than it used to be because of the way economy works in LOTV? Seems to win the big majority of tournament games, Korean or otherwise, that I see it used in and there doesn't seem to be a reliable way to scout or play against it if you are trying to be safe other than blind pool first.
|
Surprising results here, but I thought maybe Lambo and soul would go through as showtime is not in his best form.

They were even more popular before LOTV, any terran that's not Happy was almost always ahead with a proxy 2 rax.

I miss Happy, what a micro-god he was, it's always a delight seeing his war3 stream.

If Reynor is 16 before the main tournament starts (he will be) can he participate?

The one I was referring to was the korean Happy though, who somehow lost with proxy 2-rax against 3 hatch before pool.

Even when Nerchio runs up a narrow ramp, he manages to make it a beautiful engagement!

Is it time to post the 2/3 rax meme yet?

The winrate of 2rax/3rax vs zerg in tournaments has to be absolutely insane. I never see this strategy lose.

Were the playoff brackets shown?
If the seedings are based on WCS Points, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out. Serral -> Nerchio -> Snute -> Bly Mana -> uThermal -> Namshar -> Soul
So it would be: Serral - Soul Bly - Mana Nerchio - Namshar Snute - uThermal

He can and he will. Will be his first appearance at a WCS. Rooting for him to top his qualifying groups, he is also in a rising form, 7k MMR vs 6500-6600 last season. Not that it matter that much, since Showtime has 7K and is doing poorly last 2 months or so in tournaments, but it is the only measurement we can see (beside some weekly small tournaments).

Damn, Mana is so scrappy. Makes for entertaining games though.

What a strangely awesome game!

Petition to revoke Bly's progaming license.

Bly might be the most awful Zerg late game player I've seen at this level haha He has a good brain tho

No gg as usual from Nerchio.

It's weird how we see this build win every game, but still terrans don't do it every game. (and if you could do it every game, I'm sure they would)

I guess since he only built like 6 mutas the handicap is small enough so he can still win.

If uThermal loses this game because he never sees the 5th, that will be super sad.

Did Uthermal try to be Bomber? not clearing creep at all

Creep might be balanced at the highest level but it feels terrible from a design perspective.

MUTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS

Mutas and a swarm host general. Can't lose.

I can't wait for GSL vs The World for the Serral hype train to get derailed till the WCS Global Finals when it gets derailed again.

Rooting for the Snuting here. Sad that Mana stood no chance against Serral

There are so much pauses, mass zvz is boring enough.
