I dont think they specifically stated anything but I assume it comes down to head-to-head or mapscore. thats the benefit of round robin - there is always a head-to-head to settle ties if needed.

well, I don't agree.
Snute's group has one player I would consider "weak" relative to the rest of the player pool in the tournament. Most of the other groups have 2 or 3.
Snute's group also has 6 players I wouldn't be super surprised making top 2 in a group. The other groups have 3 or 4 such players.
edit: nevermind, take 1 away from all my numbers, uthermal is playing protoss. (wtf?)
anyways still think it is a tough group

I think you're seriously overestimating a just unretired FanTaSy, a Protoss uThermal, and PartinG. PartinG might have qualified for Code S but if you see him play, he's clearly not back anywhere close to his old level. Anyway, I guess we just disagree
I didn't notice uthermal playing protoss made an edit there.
and I consider fantasy to likely be the 2nd weakest player in the group
Parting I think is perfectly capable, however. But - you may be right - I could be off about how good parting is.
Have the tie breakers been detailed somewhere?
I feel like this group ends with: Lambo 6-1 Harstem 5-2 Stephano 5-2 Zest 5-2
Zest has the best map stats if it comes to that.
Definitely think Inno, Snute, Zanster are top 3 in that group. Parting/Patience are also up there, but the group isn't that hard imo.
Yeah i think Snute should be able to easily make top 2 in this group. Patience is always a wildcard and could either stomp or crumble. the remainder of the group (besides Inno) is extremely doable for Snute.

Should just be head-to-head to determine tiebreak

The question is if they go to map score to determine 2nd then look at head-to-head for 3rd and 4th or if they just seed by map score.

I'm sure they'd rather start an hour later and play 7 sets than play potentially 2 sets and be done.

I get why they are showing Stephano Harstem on the main stream but Zest Clem has a lot more on the line.
edit: Liquipedia says Clem is eliminated... Is head to head result not the first tie breaker? So Clem beating Zest and tying in series score doesn't matter because he can't beat Zest's map score? That's not how you should do it.

No matter who wins this game, Geoff won himself $20 and that's what really matters.

YoGo casting while waiting to play. What a legend.

tell him to play, he can start every match available we are trying to cut time!

Solar is NOT the Korean TLO. Solar has had actual results.

The game is basically over since Bunny has no economy but Solar made that fight a lot closer than it had to be.

no lie I don't really have much nostalgia for Mr. Bitter as a caster, so he's just another guy on the couch to me

I'm not a fan of ZvZ, but if Solar Namshar is ongoing and they aren't showing it, that's insane.
lots of fun. i always wonder if it's possible to scan enough to draw banes out.
Wow really good music right now, props to the dj
I agree, really good music
How's it compare to the NASL sound guy?
nice to see MrBitter
edit: does Bitterdam already casted?
Did they start doing asynchronous rounds for the group to make it finish before 5 in the morning?

Yes, they casted a couple of games together with Demuslim. But I think MrBitter is done for tonight.
On June 29 2018 08:03 intotheheart wrote: Did they start doing asynchronous rounds for the group to make it finish before 5 in the morning? At this rate, they'll finish group A and B, and then C and D will start immediately.

Feels bad for the observer having to do 24+ hours of this.
Makes you start to wonder whether 8-man round robin was actually such a great idea
I support it on grounds of competitive integrity, but logistically it's just a nightmare
I like it for HSC because it's sort of a celebration of StarCraft players more than anything, right? They're playing/casting and just enjoying the game for what it is.
Solar's reaction when Hajin told him Shadown likes to cannon rush on the B-stream

Why is there no English stream now?

Power Outage. I think that's a first

Lots of computers and hardware, I guess it makes sense. Curious it's only happened once to be honest.

Great to see bitterdam in action and disappointed north america had no invites. Hopefully they work on spreading out invites equally next time.

I think Neeb was invited actually but turned it down, but others have said they weren't invited at all.

Neeb is in Korea, so from a logistical perspective he's Korean. And yes, he turned down HSC in order to focus on GSL.

They just need to follow Bunny's series for the rest of the night since his are the ones that matter. (vs TLO, vs MaNa, and vs Namshar)
They should leave it on production tab as default rather than unit tab.
If a Zerg player is down 30+ supply and has zero tech, they are super dead.
This can't be the golden days of NASL, we can still hear the casters xD
If Bunny had stim 15 seconds earlier, that's game.
I swear this has been one continuous fight for 2+ minutes.
Damn does NA not like Homestory Cup? Just over 5k viewers right now
I just realized it's Bitterdam casting, and they're not on the couch. Where's the other streams?
Oh power outage

ASUS ROG must crack someone's list of "longest day" no?
How is Bunny doing this? Wow
I think we replaced the Korean Bunny with the one from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

If map score is the first tie breaker, TLO is eliminated.

Yes map difference, TLO is out

If Bunny wins a game against Namshar, he finishes in 2nd in his group.
edit: Actually, no, both players would finish 5-2 11-5.
Loving Bitterdam with all this passion.
nevermind i am an idiot. Namshar too, math at 3:30am D:

Regardless of outcome. Mapdifference > H2h. 10-2 beats 11-4 Bunny is 10-3 currently. Map losses to Solar (x2) and Mana.
If Namshar beats him 2-0, Namshar ends 11-4 to his 11-5.
Why does Namshar need a 2-0? If Namshar wins 2-1, they both end 11-5.
edit: Ok, it seems like they've realized that is the case.
lmao playing mech.
The absolute madman...
I feel like Bunny is exhausted and that's why he chose mech over bio for the last game.
Why don't they start day 2 at 11am or something instead of 1PM?
So...9 hours from now they start again.
EDIT: you mean start in under 7 hours? But production has to come in earlier than that to get everything set up.

I'm somewhat torn about HSC running the same streamlined format that they did in Group B all of tomorrow. On the one hand, it would be much nicer for the players in Group D and everyone involved in the production if things don't end after 4 a.m. again, but on the other, you'd lose some of the HSC charm with wacky interviews and the like cut in favor of keeping things moving.
+ Show Spoiler + this has nothing to do with anything but it's just so much an example of everything
The format might be a bit too much for everyone. It's cool to have that many matches, but if they want to keep this format, they should add a third day for group stage play, which also isn't ideal, because a 5 day tournament gets really exhausting.
They could just make the first half of every group on Day1 and the second half on Day2. 7 Bo3s in a row is just crazy exhausting.
