herO is super hard to predict. He failed to qualify for GSL season 2 but then qualified for the super tournament which should have been harder then followed that up by finishing top 4. He's had some pretty good online results and a couple of stinkers.

this group is gonna be crazy

Won't watch but hope solar wins, zerg master race
For some reason I think if herO gets to play vs GuMiho in the last match he wins 2-0 and if he plays Solar he loses 2-0. Not really sure why

Tastosis are going to be mighty tired from their flight to get back in time for this one

Yeah, it's a race against time, the WCS broadcast stopped after 9pm CEST and GSL starts at 6am CEST, they have under 9 hours to make the flight halfway across the world. Probably need to get their make-up done during the flight.

GSTL rematch let's gooooooo mech vs bio
Ooooooh yeah this is what I live for. MMA and Gumiho are in their cubes warming up. I just try to enjoy the games but I'd really like to see MMA and Hero win this one.
Hero looks like the happiest guy in the world. He just said hello to me in the elevator. <3 So friendly.
Rooting for MMA, hoping for that Cinderella story! The returning Terran
Once upon a time, MMA was better than Gumiho.
"When I left you, I was but the learner, now I am the master,"
Gumiho had the third base running for too long before MMA got his up, the economic advantage pushed him through.

he's survived to the midgame let's go

Glad to see MMA actually putting up a fight. It's hard to distinguish yourself in TvT, but historically he's one of the best in the MU
The positioning in that game was better than anything Napoleon himself ever did.
Sick, Gumi is one of the best TvT players lately so that's an impressive win
Sick win by MMA. No Liberators, no problem
What the hell was Gumiho doing?

The crowd sounds unusually rowdy today

It's going to be hard for MMA to come back from that harasment loss

They're hyped for the return of MMA!

Good effort from MMA, hope we get to see him against Solar. Not expecting him to do anything against herO
if only MMA was a little faster hitting that production
Thor's hammer was swung by the Towel Terran
It seems like MMA is still really really good, he just needs to get more used to the "new" units. The cyclones really messed him up. But that second game was a thing of beauty.
Having the players dress up in suits is a nice touch. Much better than the makeup fiasco they had during that one GSL back in 2011
I think Solar wins.
Hard to tell though, neither side has really opted for many upgrades
edit: lolnvm

Haven't seen hero play in a while, but that seemed like the hero I remember. Aggressive.

Hero is keeping the parts of his build that worked last time (adepts and phoenix) and getting rid of the parts that didn't (oracles)

Aligulac has MMA's win rate against Zergs at 29% since May...

I remember herO being the epitome of a standard player back in HotS. When did he turn into a nutty Protoss player?

Losing to proxy 2-gates over and over addled his mind. Though while he was no sOs I don't recall him being the epitome of standard even in HotS.
Rain was the epitome of standard, but I do remember HotS herO as a far more conservative and defensive player than the aggressive cheesy one he is now

Maybe being the clear cut ace for CJ Entus for so long caused him to play more defensively/safer. Although he was never really a Rain type imo.

Gumiho must be so sad. He thought he was way ahead. That is the worst way to lose: a hidden gold base.
A rather ugly game. Having a gold base forgives a lot of mistakes.
Brainfart from Gumiho there, checking all of the other locations except for the gold.
Ok, so if herO doesn't get a free gold base in the next game, how is his sloppy control going to hold up?
I'm surprised it took protoss so long to realize how good storm is. Delaying double forge for a super fast storm hard counters 2 base bio so much its not even funny.

Proxy siege tank, in honor of TB

Yeah, Hero definitely should've made shield batteries.

Nah against continuous cyclones they run out of power too fast. It's basically a build order loss without a robo.
Well, this is certainly an interesting series.....
Not sure what to expect for game 3
That build is pretty genius cos everyone walls off that reaper spot meaning you're basically guaranteed to kill the building there, which is usually the cyber core, and sometimes it's the first gateway or the SG/tech building. It would be a beneficial snipe in all those scenarios.

If you don't see the first barracks, is it reasonable not to wall that off? The problem is that if you don't you're just sabotaging yourself a bit if it's a proxy reaper, but it isn't the biggest deal.
My man Gumi
That was such sloppy play from herO. Wow
This is exactly what I was saying, that fast storm could easily stop that. If he didnt lose 3 templars to tanks.
herO is off today, so maybe there's a slight chance of MMA pulling off that upset
Aww, Gumiho asking for people to vote for Byun for GSL v World. That's so cute.
Wow, Gumiho with the brutal honesty and ByuN endorsement
Inno's got waaay too many votes though, it'll be him for sure

With his perfect scouting, solar has a monster economy. He knows what is coming so he knows when to stop building drones.

I get that MMA was retired for a while but he should still know that massing blue flame Hellions doesn't win you games anymore.

Would cyclones in that combination have been effective, especially against the mutas?

If this build gains traction then maybe, but otherwise it is pretty risky because it makes proxy reaper a lot stronger which is still a fairly common build. It might make sense though since you can survive proxy reaper without the wall (altho it would be much harder), but idk if you can survive this build if you put your building there (hard to say though since this is the first time i've seen it).

I think you can if you go straight for the robo.
edit: Also the echoes of Korean casting in the background are incredibly distracting.

MMA was using an outdated comp. Hellbat/Tank/Thor/Viking was pretty good last year, before PB got massively buffed to 120 damage.
10 more hp on Vikings doesn't really make a difference when PB does 60 more damage
Gumiho and MMA are together doing post-match analysis
Rematch, hero can do this
Given that SH are great against a defensive Protoss and godawful when Protoss is in your face, using them against herO of all people seems to be.....questionable judgement
Really want Solar to make it, but the Swarm host decision was very questionable

Boy those herO Solar games were hard to watch, I imagine Solar won't sleep very well for a while.
Just got done watching the replays. I will admit, NoRegret has greatly improved his casting. I didn't like his castings at first because he was so biased towards Zerg and would constantly say, "well, Zerg would be winning this fight if he had more units." It was so annoying. I am a Terran player and usually root for them when I watch Korean tournaments but I would never be a caster that constantly expressed favoritism towards my race. Everyone has their preference on which race they like. Hearing NoRegret's commentary today was enjoyable and fun to watch.
^ Agree. Definitely some good commentary by them, they can't be best friends / experienced like tastosis but at least they tried.
