Hello SC2 fans. I will try to keep this as short as possible.
Just a few words about QLASH - we are an eSports organisation founded in 2017, just over a year ago, in Italy. We are trying to be different by not only trying to find the best possible talent to compete for us, but also by creating events, establishing a network of streamers and trying to be innovative in how to engage the different communities out there. So far you might have heard our name just because Elazer, Lambo and Retjah play for our SC2 team. But enough about us...
After some serious work behind the scenes we have just announced our first SC2 event. All of us are huge fans of StarCraft because we have been gamers since we were little, and we all know there are only a few games out there that are as important as StarCraft for the eSports industry as a whole.
We are very happy that we managed to gather some of the best talent in terms of players and casters in the European scene to be part of our event. We also secured a very experienced admin to help us guide through all the technicalities and make sure we have a smooth sailing.
The event will start on the 23rd of July (Monday), will have 2 groups of 8 players each that will play roundrobin Bo5 matches - making this 7 rounds in total for the group phase. Each Tuesday and Thursday afterwards we will stream a round from each group (each stream will last four Bo5 matches). The stream will always start 16:00 GMT (+00:00) and the whole thing will be broadcasted on our English channel:
We would like to point out that we might run into some bumps here and there but we hope that you will appreciate we are doing this whole event without any sponsors specifically signed for it (we have just one general sponsor for the team). We will do our best to make the event as fun and professional as possible. More information can be found below:
An image with the full schedule will be added to this thread soon. First two streams will be on the 23rd and 26th of July starting 16:00 GMT (+00:00).
We will be posting updates as soon as we have them on our team Twitter profile.

Awesome, so happy that we have QLASH in sc2!

I dont think you want to do it on 24th of July as there will be WCS European Challenger Day 1? :D
|
Thats zerg heavy :D
|
Ret as commentator - that's really cool!
|
Really awesome event! Love seeing more round robins. Though that’s a lot of Zerg!
|
Sick lineup! Hoping that won't be schedule problems with WCS tho
|
This looks great! Thank you for doing it! :D

Hello guys,
First of all, amazing thanks to the CynicalDeath for creating our Liquipidia page - that was my job for the day and had no clue how to do it so can't thank you enough Only thing Im trying to do but unsure on how to is to change all prizepools to euros instead of $ as it is now incorrect. The group wins are also worth 50 euros and not 50$.
We are aware that it is quite a lot of zergs in the tourney but unfortunately this is due to some of the major non-zerg players opting not to participate.
Last but not least, we are aware of the WCS issue - we can either pleplay all games or we can reschedule. Both are not ideal for us but of course we will try to do our best to avoid any kind of collision between the events.

Hello everyone,
AN IMPORTANT UPDATE!
We will be moving the first and only the first stream to Monday - 23rd of July due to a conflict with the WCS qualifiers on the 24th. The time remains the same and the first stream will be casted by RotterdaM and Retjah together from Rotti's house!
|
Hello everyone,
One more last minute change unfortunately. DeMusliM had to drop out from the tournament and has now been replaced by Hellraiser. First match today is Serral vs Hellraiser at 18:00 CEST on QLASH_eng twitch channel.
|
I expect 4 zergs in the RO4, which is a bit sad. I guess they can't do that much about it as Neeb and Showtime are in KR.
But perhaps uThermal and HeroMarine could have been invited, as they would have had chances of getting to the top 2 of the groups (way better then Soul, Clem and the other non zergs there).
|
Quite the stacked (zerg) tournament and fun format

They were invited and they declined for their own reasons.

Impressive comeback from PtitDrogo! When DnS - Stephano will be casted?
|
Hey guys,
We've seen a lot of comments about uThermal and HeroMarine. We can confirm that they were both invited and declined participation. We understand that the tournament is a bit zerg-heavy but this is the elite European scene at the moment in general and we wanted to have the strongest players possible.
We will update here once we have a time for DnS vs Stephano match broadcast. Thanks for tuning in yesterday, we can improve a few things but in general we are happy with how it went!
|
Cool tournament, great casters. Nice to see Ret cast again, always nice.
The race lineup is quite biased but I don't see what they could have done about it. That's europe for you ... it's not specific to this tournament ^^
Anyway, thanks QLASH
|
Great casting by Ret and Elazer. Pro casts are always the most interesting.
|
Thank you EvanC. We apologise for the small technical issues last stream and we hope we won't have any of them today. Our live stream starts from Group B round 2 starts in 10 minutes with Elazer vs Nerchio
|
Don't worry, stuff like "I forgot to unmute my cocaster for 1minute" are not really a problem, it happens to everyone. There is very little downtime and Ret is doing great for someone who hasn't done this a lot
|
5 stupid games from Snute and Hellraiser. Well done guys!
|
Well Anton took a game off of Serral so it wasn't that bad of a day in the end for our Swedish friend.
|
|
last bo5 running as I write Serral vs Lambo. Score 1-0 for Serral atm.
|
Serral's decision making is so impressive. He's almost always one step ahead.
|
Looking forward to next set of matches thanks for this QLASH.

is this the only thread for qlash? this tournament is great, no one watching? it's going on right now and there's no activity in here!

0-4 and then getting reverse swept by Zanster.
Tough times for DnS. Tough times for France.

Hello everyone! Just fyi - yesterday Nerchio won against Clem 3:1 in a match casted from replays on Rotti's channel. The score will be reflected in the bracket (if anyone can amend the liquipedia page will be much appreciated).
Furthermore, today at 18:00 GMT (+00:00) Rotti will cast the other postponed match between Nerchio and Namshar on his channel. This time the match will not be from replays but LIVE.

The fuck is Stephano doing It's either a genius move or a really stupid one, can't really tell
|
Stephano's handling of the cannon/battery all-in is really peculiar, but it did work against PartinG at HSC. Hellraiser seems to be too aware for that?

It just seem way better to nydus the protoss main first, then you at least force the recall and your free to do the other nydus anyway. It's seem like a huge investment just to get out of your main, especially since you forfeit everything there

I'm sure there's a reason to making it there too. Maybe the Protoss can just defend a counter with lings with a recall of a few stalkers and a cannon in the mineral line.

I don't get what Namshar tried to do in G3. He kept going down the choke and did one single counterattack after the midgame
Welp, GG Clem anyways

Hi guys, Nerchio vs Namshar was played on Tuesday and casted on Wednesday. The final score was 3:2 for Nerchio.
If anyone can update the score and brackets on the liquipidia page please (cute cat face)...

Hey guys, we already posted the event on the TL calendar and the hours on our twitter but just to make clear:
The semifinals stream will start at 18:30 CEST on Saturday with 30 min preshow. The final stream will start at 19:30 CEST on Sunday with 30 min preshow.
On Sunday we will also have a casual afternoon stream with a couple of showmatches and stuff that will start at around 15:00 CEST but this will be confirmed further closer to that time.
|
|
Gotta say, the QLASH house seems very nice!
|
Was there a reddit thread for the final? If not, you should think about making one, not everyone checks team liquid.

Amazing for Rotti to get the score right. I remember.

That was a fun game from Zanster, I loved how fast he upgraded his lings. He really enjoyed that game I guess.

great tournament to watch in the group play stage, but i gotta be honest, having an EU battle royale and the playoffs being a bunch of ZvZs and one of them is Serral is not exactly hype
|
Serral protoss god.
I dunno if I agree that ZvZ with Serral is boring, the games at the last WCS were great.

Probably Serral meant That, but Finnish auto-correct changed it to Tuhat, that means a thousand in Finnish.

Zanster found the key to defeating Serral, you just need to be up 7 bases vs 3 with 2 gold.

Pretty cool games today. Those 4 vs 1 matches were fun to watch. The final has been good too so far.
|
|
honestly the most interesting part of this tournament was the 4v1, I feel like it is good practice for Serral, even though he got so frustrated, maybe he should practice 2v1 vs foreign terrans to beat Maru.

GG Serral! If I'm not mistaken it's now full training time in the foreign scene until Blizzcon? There is not any offline or online tournament until November I don't think. Edit: NVM Starladder is organizing a top tier foreign league starting next weekend
|
Congrats to Serral! Thanks to QLASH for the event.

Are the showmatches worth watching? Finals were fun, even though I'm disappointed I didn't get to see Serral vs Elazer bo9.
|
I thought the showmatches were all pretty fun, the first one was Serral and Zanster playing offrace, so if you're interested in seeing how their protoss and terran looks like you might want to check them out.

serral is ridiculous. even in the era back when KR played vs the world more often koreans wouldn't be expected to go 18-1 in a group with those players, you would expect something maybe more like Elazer's 21-6
