lol what.

Most Americans would rather listen to a half-asleep incontrol doing prequel-memes for twenty minutes than listen to Rotterdam or Khador doing actual commentary.
That's not to say incontrol isn't a fantastic caster, don't get me wrong.

Right now its all great.
Like I said man.. we can’t make everyone happy. No amount of you saying “I prefer” changes that lol. I’m at peace that to some I’m amazing and to others I’m trash.

Casters miss yet another runby. There were so many great counterattacks in these games and i feel like the only time it was mentioned was when MaNa lost the main fight, then afterwards they switched over to his zealots still wrecking drones.

Elazer is making this exiting.

Yeah... I don't think I'm sold on American Starcraft fandom being such a hotbed of linguistic discrimination.
And wow, if Elazer wins this, it'll be the first time Serral will have lost (a Bo3+) against another foreigner in the last six months.

Feardragon and Nathanias are trying really hard to defend Blueshift as not a Catalyst-clone, but even the mapmaker admits that he basically rotated Catalyst (which he also made) and threw in a dash of Frozen Temple.

Finally some competitive matches

I don't really agree, it feels very different to play on, mainly because of the lack of a central forward 4th. All maps have some similar features

They're not straight up copies of each other but they don't play out grotesquely different do be honest.

It's a bit different. Different enough that I don't mind having them in two consecutive pools, but they're similar enough that I find GSL's choice of having both of them in the same pool dubious.

Admittedly it would have been more dubious to keep Eastwatch instead. But they could have added Para Site or Cerulean to replace Eastwatch. I approve of them taking LRSL's idea to the next level and adding Atlas to the map pool tho.

I think Koreans (both pros and mapmakers) just really like the thug-of-war type of maps like Blue Shift, Catalyst, Overgrowth, or Newkirk. That and big 4p rotational maps :D
|
I think they just like maps like that because those allow them the strategic flexibility of what they want to do, they don't force any particular way to play and allow anything from stinky cheese to split map.

I think both, Coda and Overgrowth have more similarity to Catalyst than Blueshift. Standard maps are bound to be quite similar.

Not just rotational, judging by the way they randomly added Deadwing to the pool last year.

Inno not remembering it was vertical/cross only and thus accidentally scouting a proxy stargate was fabulous.
