Has melee singles pools with AM bracket (and pro bracket obv) and doubles pools into bracket. We did waves for singles pools to allow time for eating as well! I improved A LOT at that event as a marth player in several ways- My mentality just changed. I've been discussing marth neutral game with friends lately and I shifted my thought of challenging people with hit boxes and instead I challenge them with better spacing. The result has improved my game a LOT especially in regards to the floaty matchups. I have been doing a lot of spaced forward airs in which I drift backwards- This allows me to hit them and potentially follow up with more fairs and it keeps me out of their range so I'm not immediately punished. The night before the doc player that won the whole thing was 3-4 stocking me but in tournament I decided to try out this new line of thinking and I took him to last hit last stock in both games. That's huge improvement. I got randomly really good at powershielding. I know Marth has pretty easy powershielding but I was doing about 20% of falco lasers and I got a few samus charge shot too. Geeze it's easy for marth. My chain grab against spacies is so weird. I've been inconsistent with it in friendlies but in tournament it was on point. It's been on point ever since the tournament but prior to it I couldn't do anything right T.T (it used to be really good but it just disappeared a month ago) I stopped auto piloting. That's like a really big deal. Yay improvement. It was a really good weekend.

The goal is to get up to like 70% and to err on the side of shielding too early. Once you're confident with your powershield, it opens up a whole lot of breathing room against Falco. It's not uncommon to just run at him, powershield a laser point blank and instantly grab.

i mean it's especially disappointing for me because i'm a huge fan of dart's play, and watching anybody just slowly lose their grip on the game from attrition and frustration and salt is kinda painful to watch. kels definitely knows how to run that marathon tho lol
