Your objective is not to combo or out weave him, but to poke him far enough to the edge that he has no options and you get easy edgeguards. Dtilt his dash dances. Don't wall with aerials too much, as he can DD grab punish quite well (Spaced aerials on his shield are pretty nice though). DD punish his vertical approaches, with aerial or tilt or grab of your choice. CC edgehopped nairs into free punish. Try not to use Nair too much, his approaches all have perfect angles to avoid it.

Some good stuff here I could have used but it was too late for the local I just went to I matched up against a Falcon in losers who'd 3-0'd me at the last tourney and managed to 2-0 him by following the "ask Diakonos what to do right before playing your set" build order. Nairs actually worked out pretty well for me, retreating/in place of course in reaction to approaches. Everything else was spot on advice though.

Oh yeah, he knows his stuff way better than I do, so good idea on that ^^. Yeah, the Nair bit is for a more conservative mindset, but if they were paying off then by all means use 'em .

for example, i would say the ideal camping distance in the peach mu is the one where she can't safely pull/throw turnips but can't just grab/hit you directly either. the ideal camping distance in the falco mu is the one where you can get to him as he's jumping before he shoots his gun, etc.

Falcon is way harder since he can easily overshoot your dash dance with a shffl nair at basically any range.
