So if a group of people I were unfamiliar with showed up to my tournament, I could ask them about their relative skill levels and seed them accordingly. Speaking of which, what program are you using to run the bracket? Challonge, Tio or something different?

Pros: - Between matches was very nice and esportsy. Stream quality was pretty decent. - Heard the tournament was a lot of fun. That's awesome and honestly the most important thing so good job there. - Bracket updated very quickly and efficiently, tournament ran very timely. - I see you guys converted to a double elim bracket. That's a huge plus. Cons: - Casters weren't very knowledgeable. I don't know how you guys would feel about perhaps letting some of the players commentate now and again but it's certainly something to consider. I understand this is a limitation of having all brackets being run simultaneously and having the same guys commentate everything though. - No overlay for the stream. At the very least it would be cool to have the player names as well as the set counts which would also aid the casters. twitch.tv/vgbootcamp for example has a very nice overlay setup model that you guys could copy if you plan on continuing to run Smash in the future. - The ruleset, primarily regarding stage picking is a bit broken. There was at least one instance where the lower seed won the first game for which the higher seed had chosen the stage, then got to pick the stage for the second game as well. Simply having the loser counterpick a stage would alleviate this a lot though obviously it would be preferential to go through the striking process. I know you guys had a pretty harsh introduction into the community but I'm glad that you guys were as receptive to criticism and advice as you guys were especially considering the amount of bashing that also happened. But hopefully you guys also have seen that we kind of know what we're talking about and are willing to run another tournament. If so, JSalt who attended your tourney is a fantastic TO with lots of experience that I would recommend who would be able to help you guys out a lot. | ||
