However, the offstage game is more developed in brawl and slower games. Going offstage in melee is always paired with risking to die yourself. But this is way off-topic and leads to stupid x>y debates. SO, before this video got released, I did a video in response to another video on that situation explaining why i thought this was a bad idea. The way the presented the whole thing kinda changed my mind though, because they didn't present it the way i thought they would (they made it obvious from the start that it was a farce... they just took to long to clear things up which made the speculations get out of hand, they should've told the competitive players there what was going on, even the ones not reeimbursed and told them to wait a couple of days imo. Might not have worked out, but by not telling them who the player was, it would've still been a fun mystery to speculate about, instead of it turning into people accusing Gamestop. Plus the whole 10yo-girl gender thing obviously, but i don't really see it as a problem. "My Thoughts on KarissaGate" <-- RogersBase video/rant about people hating on those involved My Answer <--- my rant on why I thought the whole promotion was a bad idea from a competitive perspective. Kind of invalidated by how they chose to present the official Video!

It was a cute little prank, and creating reactionary videos and responses to them only makes it sound like a bigger and more controversial deal than it actually is. Maybe a few people were temporarily fooled, but it was overall a harmless joke created to hype up the new game.

and yes, we might be over-reacting, but we've been dealing with nintendo's stuff for way to long now to just let something like that, which looked like a nintendo thing slide by. The thing why so many people talked about it was that we couldn't know wether she was real or not until the video was out, because none of the people involved were allowed to speak out, and speculation leads to more speculation. Not a well done promotional gag from the perspective from those closely interested in the scene, that's all. I love the final video (eventhough the Karissa character is terribly cocky...), and I didn't feel any hate or anything about it, I don't really see how i took it too seriously. (in fact, i did hate the blown up way in which RogersBase presented it, which is why i hated the fact he called it "KarissaGate") So i don't know wether you've watched the video, I guess not, but thanks for being condescending. Pro-Players being payed by official firms, especially for commercials is still a big deal in our community. Edit: well, disabling the video, since they released the official video its rather beside the point, since they actually did exactly what i criticized. They actually showed from the very start that it was a gag involving a Pro, and left nothing to speculation.
