Same here, though without the 50% discount, I don't think I'd go for this.
Anyway, now I just have to find the closest Papa Johns...

Well they should invest in something like this. Watching an esports tourney is like watching a regular sporting event. And what do people in the US usually eat while watching sporting events from home pizza!! Im glad big companies getting involved there is lots of customers that would support them. Glad this is happening this week gonna take advantage of this not just to watch Code S and AM Ro16 but also NBA playoff and the UEFA champions.

However- There's no guarantee I'll get ANY of these Prizes? Shirt-Mousepad-etc?
Sorry- but I'll stay with making my own pizza store-bought or Little Ceasars which is about 5 minutes closer than this towns' Papa John's. =-(
(Or WILL I get a prize for sure, if I get my Meter up?) Am I understanding this correctly? =-/
The meter is in general for everyone. Once it hits the tier in which teamliquid/other team gives out shirts/mousepads/etc, it will be done through random giveaway. The meter isn't an individual thing. Also, you probably shouldn't be in it for the prizes anyway. Support the esports scene!

so how many pizzas advance a tier? or are you just advancing it when you feel like it

If this was Chiptole or Baja Fresh or Stone Oven I would be the biggest supporter of this. With the sedentary lifestyle most gamers have, pizza consumption should be deterred in favor of healthier alternatives.
However, I'm glad that such a mainstream company has a willingness to support the scene.

I bet they'd be better off doing this during a big tournament weekend instead of this timing, though I'm not up to date on all tournies so there may be on coming up soon.

Do they deliver to Romania?
<sad face>

50% off of one of the better main brand pizzas? FUck yea, getting one today for dinner
|
Wow I really like this! This is exactly what the esports scene needs, and 50% off pizza to boot!
|
Omg I thought its about John the translator xD Nice idea though!

I literally bought a Papa Johns yesterday before I even knew about this promotion, the first in years. Bad luck...
|
how long is this gonna last?

This is stupid. If you order this, you are supporting a company that doesn't care about its workers and getting a shitty pizza in return.

This x 100000000. I support eSports all the time (financially and otherwise) but I do draw the line at greedy, loathsome, soulless corporate scum like the owner and face of Papa John's.
I am not anti-capitalism. I'm happily employed for a company that pays me well and respects/protects me. Read about the owner's policies, political stances, agendas, etc., and then decide if you can still stomach his (fucking horrendous) pizza.
I will support eSports to the day I die. I will not support Papa John's.
Not trying to be Debbie Downer but in the midst of all this joyful consumption, this point does need to be raised.
That moment when you realize you're eating cardboard AND lining a stooge's pockets...

Sometimes i wish i lived in the us..

Why isn't this available in the Papa John's in my country?

Hopefully this turns into something legendary. Pizza and ESPORTS go hand in hand!

You've never walked into a store to carry out pizza?

You've never walked into a store to carry out pizza? Well he admitted he was a fat nerd. Not walking would have to be a reason.
