Since this franchise opened up, the number of people slowly quarter squatting for 20 reps per set with 2.5 pound plates, those who lean against the squat rack talking, and those who stare awkwardly in the locker room when I take my shirt off have declined significantly. mOnion Age: 20 || Height: 5'10" || Weight: 125.4 lbs Starting Date: 01/17/11 || Goal Date: 05/11/11 Weight goals -- [160 lbs] Training goals -- [Get to advanced SS] Nutrition goals -- [Larger more regular meals] Misc goals -- [Get sexy] Day 1 sucked. I've unfortunately successfully lost all the weight I put on last summer. I got to 142 pounds and since quitting I've dropped back down to my scrawny 125. This is mostly due to my eating habits and that I regularly will be absent minded and go entire days (yes, days) without eating and just not realize it. workout was low weight and boring, getting my test weights for SS to begin. Just got the SS book from amazon and I'm gonna read that shit tonight rather than buy my textbooks LOL I read the introduction to squats and everything so far is pure gold. really happy with the purchase, which I made after reading the wiki extensively. Here's to a heavier tomorrow

Im eating well now (read: enough) and I'm suddenly not stalling out on lifting. I've also thrown out the accessory work my roommate (love the guy, but he's a bro) insisted was necessary, and gotten a spotter, so I'm not afraid to lift heavy. 200/275/325 incoming. Im happy to say my knee appears healed. After two years plus of it sometimes just not holding my weight, of being afraid of stairs, and of not being able to walk for a few days after a night of dancing, four months of light, proper form squats have cured me. Hey decaf, want to race to that dunk? Note- using tl android app. Phone keyboard, sorry about typos.

Power Snatch: 2x1 @ 75kg Power Clean and Jerk: 2x1 @ 95kg Back Squat: 3x2 @ 375lb (i'm sorry legs ) The catch on my powerclean is absolutely atrocious for some reason. I like refuse to loosen my grip on it so that it can land on my shoulders. Weird. Took me like 4 tries to powerclean it and get it into a position i could do the jerk from. Max out tomorrow. Apparently its normal to only get ~90% of previous max. Should be interesting. Day 4 volume is also pretty low, and the day after is supposed to be a rest day but that means my next work day (which is very hard, 5 singles at over 90% on each) would be on saturday but the gym is open mon-fri. So i think i'll take thurs off and then do day 4 on fri and day 5 on monday. @monion, should have stuck with it! :-p Don't worry it will come back faster @phyre, i apologize for my comrades but i'm sure they needed the squatting ^_^

@m0nion - GL HF. Get in there, get BIG. It should come back easier the second time. I can't imagine being that small (although when I was 5'10 I probably was) but getting right in there is definitely the way to fix it. @decaf - if someone's using the squat rack properly, I'll wait all day for them to finish. Especially if they're part of a team that's got to go up against you sometime. Didn't get to power clean in my workout today. No time for it, and the gym was too packed anyway. going to have to work on that another time.

Was only 195lb though lol, but still, it made me feel cool. Squat felt really good today, did 195x5, 215x5, and 225x5 (yeaa! 2, 45lb plates that's right!) Also did, 145x5, 155x5, 160x5 (lb) bench. Question: What do people think about doing fewer pull-ups/chin-ups but lowering really slowly (I think the technical term is eccentric movement?) Obviously, that takes up strength so you can't do as many reps. also, although squat felt fine today, it hurts my back to bend over and touch my toes (while keeping my legs straight.) That seems bad, dunno if I should deadlift relatively lightly, or just wait a few weeks.

I'm looking forward to living in a room with a kitchen next year so I can do something like that. Though I was thinking more along the lines of grilled chicken for most of the time. Yeah i like to eat as much chicken as i can. Lots of beef though too, need the extra calories from the fat, pretty sure i'm still at calorie deficit. Gonna have to start eating lots of rice to save some money though T_T

I guess it isn't the worst for carbs (?). that depends on what you want from it. liquid refined sugar is great for restoring blood sugar levels post workout very quickly, or during some intensive long workout. However, it is generally not necessary unless you are going to do some other exercise shortly after, and for weight loss / limiting fat gains I wouldn't touch the stuff
