However I'd like to know the science behind why vitamin C doesn't work to help cure a cold. Vitamin C is an anti-oxidant and helps out with synthesis of collagen There's nothing taht it does that would help improve the effects of the immune system......? Vitamin D, on the other hand, increases concentrations of cathelicidin (anti-microbial polypeptide), and defensin1 and 2 which increase immune response. Hence, why it will directly help out with curing a cold You know you can look these things up in pubmed....

Her goal is to be healthy and to lose weight. She wants to know thoughts on a few things though. -She likes beer and wine but not sure how much is good or bad. -All potatoes are good right? -What about corn?

Beer is ok, if it's non-grain beer. Only sweet potatoes No corn... I'm not sure about corn on the cob although it's probably not.

White rice might also be ok? Though I think on a strict paleo it's not.

Yeah I was thinking of just adding some white rice. Easy to make with chicken and veggies as well. I'm not too fussed about strict Paleo as I mainly do it so my stomach doesn't feel like crap, but I haven't noticed problems with rice so that's fine. On January 02 2012 05:35 Froadac wrote: Hey... I'm just trying to figure out a good calorie # to go to. If I'm not constantly thinking about it I never eat enough, and I'm never sure if I have. Answer is I haven't, but for a 5'4" male, what exactly should I be aiming to consume. Maybe I just need to push through but i keep on feeling ful after eating not a lot. I know part of it is because I havea bunch of scar tissue close to stomach from surgery, but there must be something on my end I can do. What I do is just start with a number (for example I'm starting with 4k on training days and ~3k on rest days on my bulk now) and weigh every week on the same day and moment. If you gained more than 0.5kg then decrease a bit, if you gained less increase.

You can use your hands to help massage out scar tissue and break it up. Did your PTs teach you how to do this? Regardless, the milk option is still there. Just eat every meal until you're sick is pretty much the other way.

Also, look at that scar on my neck. It's really sorta bad, no idea hwy it's that bad. It's really stiff, and getting really deep. Also protruding. It's been over two years
