I suffered from a knee injury, which disallowed me to do any lower body for 10 months straight. My current stats: 1x120kg bench 1x75kg overhead press 4x100kg squat (But I managed to do 11x92.5kg, so it's still a technical issue). 1x155kg deadlift. I want to get my squat to 150kg this yaer, my deadlift hopefully to 200kg. I'm currently in week 3 of my cut: Pre cut stats: 192cm @ 90.3kg Right now: 192cm @ 87.2kg Note: A lot of my missing weight is from my lower body, since i only started training that again in late october last year. He seems to be focussing on relatively low rep squats for strength, just because he didn't test his true 1rm doesn't mean it's not powerlifting right?

IMO whether it's powerlifting or not isn't about the technique or the weight or even the goal. If you compete in powerlifting meets, it's powerlifting. If you don't, it's not. Like shooting a basketball alone in your driveway and never joining a team or playing a pickup game isn't "playing basketball" no matter how good you get. Powerlifting is a very specific sport. What he's doing is just lifting.

Interesting approach, I view it like so: - Powerlifting -> Strength training where the primary goal is to get your Squat/Deadlift/Bench press 1RM up as high as possible. - Powerbuilding -> Strength training with strength and mass as equal primary goals - Bodybuilding -> Strength Training where hypertrophy is the #1 goal, not caring about strength gains. (This will eventually include more isolations to bring up lacking muscle groups and to promote symmetry) They all have the same means (strength training) to different eventual goals. In basketball it isn't basketball until you meet very specific rules (Playing field, team sizes etc). Powerlifting is a solo sport, no matter whether you go to meets or not. Or are you not practicing for example.. kickboxing when you don't attend to meets/tournaments? When you're just practicing technique day in day out, against a boxing bag? I do get your point though, but what else would you call someone who's trying to get super strong on the 'big 3' in the gym, for over years? What sport is he doing? You can't just call it 'strength training'.

If you never compete than you're not playing a sport you're just practicing (which is fine if that's what you want to do). It's not like you have to even be good to compete, anyone can and should at whatever they love doing for fun and to test their limits. If you just play against AI or custom games in SC but never ladder would you call yourself a starcraft player? It's Pat mendes's supplement line. Most of it is BS or overpriced or both. The protein doesn't seem unreasonable but I've never tried it. The preworkout is actually pretty competitively priced and a decent supp. If you play poker against an AI on a phone app all day, are you a poker player? No. I agree, strength training is exactly what I would call it. Is the preworkout something you would recommend Decaf? I'm looking for a new one right now, but it seems like 99% of the preworkouts out there are just caffiene, creatine, and 5 other ingredients in miniscule amounts to fluff the label up.

I'll link some videos of him, but he had to rebuild his squat after an injury and is the strongest guy in the UK for his weight class. I agree though, most top powerlifters would never be able to do that and compete. I think it just hurts you way too much in terms of your mechanical advantage.

Dips + 20lb 4x8 DB Press 55lb 3x6 Tricepz Felt good to hit some sort of PR for the first time in approximately forever. Dunno if I'm up to cracking my 205lb 1RM for press but soon. Hopfully I can keep up the linear progression on the press for a few more weeks. Weighed in at ~226lb today. Damn holidays. Back to working out a lot more and eating a lot less junk. Doing a meet next weekend, might actually fill out the 105kg class for the first time :p Just going to be doing power snatch and power clean/jerk.
