The Defense is looking like it may hold to last year's excellent form despite all of the turnover. Young guys are stepping up in a big way on the line, and, by all accounts, Navarro Bowman is back to being the beastly ILB that he was two years ago. I don't like the Niners corners, but the play of the Front 7 and the safeties will mitigate that liability. There simply is no way that the Niners offense can be any worse this year than it was last year. Thank Christ that Greg Roman is now ruining Buffalo's offense instead of the Niners'. If the Niners can piece together something resembling a functional offensive line and if Kaepernick can start connecting on some deep passes to Vernon Davis and Torrey Smith, the offense might actually look respectable. I don't think that the Niners are going to make the playoffs coming out of the brutally tough NFC West, but I can see them having an 8-8 or 9-7 finish as opposed to the 5-11 or 6-10 type of season that a lot of people are foreseeing. I would be absolutely shocked if they hit 8 wins. Kap is the problem with Kap, not the offensive system. I also think we'll be wishing for Roman by week 8 after we see the montrosity that Geep Fucking Chryst creates. They lost way too much talent on both sides. I also think that everyone liked to bag on the line last year but it was actually still pretty decent. Kap just has no fucking clue what he's doing back there. and now they lost more linemen. If it's not obvious yet I am really over Kap and his bs. He's so incredibly overrated as a player and he's borderline retarded as a human. He's a guy who could see success on a stacked team like he had. On a team with bottom 3rd talent, he's a massive anchor in price and playstyle. I think the D will actually be ok, like top 15. I think the lock for top 5 days are donezo.

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/ahmad-brooks-charged--ray-mcdonald-indicted-in-sexual-assault-case-011657273.html San Francisco 49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks and troubled former teammate Ray McDonald have been named in a sexual assault case dating back to an alleged December incident at McDonald's home. The Santa Clara County grand jury has indicted McDonald on one count of rape of an intoxicated person, and the county district attorney has charged Brooks with misdemeanor sexual battery against the same alleged victim. The 49ers cut ties with McDonald last December amid a repeated pattern of run-ins with the law. But that didn't stop the Chicago Bears from signing McDonald to a contract this spring, only for them to release him after he was named in another, separate domestic violence incident. Brooks was named in this case on Wednesday, and the 49ers said he was sent home from Denver, where the team was holding joint practices with the Broncos, and will remain home when the team plays its third preseason game there on Saturday. "We take any charge against a member of this organization seriously and are in communication with the NFL," 49ers GM Trent Baalke said in a statement. "Ahmad is returning home to California and will not participate in Saturday's game." If conviced, the 31-year-old linebacker Brooks faces up to six months in jail. A civil lawsuit was filed in May against both men. The victim accused Brooks of groping her while she was intoxicated at McDonald's home before, the suit claims, McDonald carried her to his bedroom and sexually assaulted her. McDonald, 30, could face a maximum of eight years in prison if convicted of rape. He previously had countersued the alleged victim for defamation of character after the 49ers released him. McDonald's career almost certainly is over. On Brooks, we will have to wait and see how things play out — and how the team will handle the situation in the meanwhile. But for now, the offseason from hell continues for a franchise that has been snakebitten by injury, departures and a slew of arrests, charges and other legal troubles. Will the Niners actually be able to field a team this season?

No matter what side the coach or whatever takes it always just stirs up some sort of drama too. Just not the right place for it

Scarcity is also important. Every team starts at least 2 wrs a lot of teams will constantly have 3 on the field. You can definitely find late gems there. You almost certainly will not at qb. If you're in the top 5, I'd say go RB-QB-QB. If you're something like 12, take the top 2 qbs without even hesistanting, and go rb in the 3rd. also what's weird about 2qb leagues is the draft is wayyyyy different.

RE: Scarcity Great point about it, it's super important to understand the other positional requirements. Here's what I do as a quick and easy way to find out what is "valuable" in my leagues. It's by no means perfect, but it's better than nothing. 1. Dump all players, by position, in a spreadsheet with last year's fantasy points next to their names. 2. For each position, find the "Points Above Replacement" or PAR. This is simply the player's fantasy points minus the next guy who wouldn't have been started if everyone had teams made up of the top guys. For example, if you play in a 2 QB league with 12 teams, the replacement QB is QB25. For flex, estimate the number of RBs and WRs. 3. Take each position and put it into one sheet. Sort the sheet to find out who has the highest PAR. That's all there is to it. If you have a ton of RBs at the top of this ranking, your league values RBs more heavily. If there's a lot of QBs at the top because you play in a 2 QB league, focus on grabbing a QB or two earlier than you normally would. I've played in leagues of all shapes and sizes, where RBs or QBs or WRs are super valuable. It's great because it operates irrespective of scoring system and league size.

I was thinking some combo to get qb-qb-rb in the first three rounds because qbs score the most overall. Getting two top PAR guys here means more points overall week to week than the top RB. For RBs, there's a massive drop off after the top 5, and then another big drop off around maybe 9-11. The PAR between the top 5 and the next 5 is significant. I do PAR too, though I usually just compare them vs the same position. I like being able to see where the drop off point is for each position since it lets you know on the fly when you need to address something during the draft.
