Delhi Daredevils From the capital come Delhi Daredevils and playing their matches in the distinctive Feroz Shah Kotla ground you would have thought Delhi would have been more of a force than they have been in the IPL. The franchize started their early life well but have been more than a little bit disappointing in recent years. Kings XI Punjab Big hitting is what Kings XI Punjab do. They suprissed everyone last year with their performance and many me included think they should have won the whole thing, they topped the group stage. Everyone's hoping for more big batting and exciting cricket from them again this year. Kolkata Knight Riders The reigning champions Kolkata Knight Riders return looking for more glory. Huge support and pashion from the Bengali purple took Kolkata through a purple spell at the end of last season. Yusuf Pathan smashing them into a home semi final was one of the most amazing sporting spectacles last year and the momentum took them all the way to the title. Bowlers Umesh Yadav (India) Pat Cummins (Australia) Morne Morkel (South Africa) Sunil Narine (West Indies) Brad Hogg (Australia)
Mumbai Indians Mumbai are one of the big teams in IPl but have failed to win as consistently as they might have hoped. They have the money they have the support but they have only won the championshiip once and the fans want more. A new season brings another chance for Mumabi expect to see them in the latter stages of this competition. Rajasthan Royals Rajasthan Royals return again and with some pretty big names they should be a threat to any team not on their game. Their 2008 tournment win shows they are not to be underestimated and in fact makes them more successful than a lot of the other and perhaps bigger names out there. Key Players + Show Spoiler + All-rounders Shane Watson (Australia) James Faulkner (Australia) Steve Smith (Australia) Stuart Binny (India) Chris Morris (South Africa)
Batsman Sanju Samson WC (India) Ajinkya Rahane (India)
Bowlers Tim Southee (New Zealand) Kane Richardson (Australia) Dhawal Kulkarni (India)
Royal Challengers Bangalore I won't pretend I'm not biased Royal Challengers Bangalore are the best team in IPL. De Villiers and Gayle smashing away at the short boundaries of the Chinnaswamy Stadium should be more than enough reason for anyone to support RCB. Tillakaratne Dilshan has called it time and is not returning to the IPL this year TT .But there's still enough excitement to go around.
In all honesty RCB results have been a little disappointing. But the fact they have never won the IPL doesn't do anything to undermine my assertions that they are the best team. Key Players + Show Spoiler + All-rounders Darren Sammy (West Indies) David Wiese (South Africa)
Batsman AB de Villiers WC (South Africa) Rilee Rossouw (South Africa) Chris Gayle (West Indies) Nic Maddinson (Australia) S Badrinath (India)
Bowlers Ashok Dinda (India) Varun Aaron (India) Mitchell Starc (Australia) Sean Abbott (Australia) Adam Milne (New Zealand)
Sunrisers Hyderabad A troubled franchise history and no IPL glory to their name. But Hyderabad have put on some great performances down the years. This year they have gone with a perhaps surprisingly English feel to their team all 3 English players in the IPL are playing for them. So if there are any English guys out there unsure who to support you might want to consider the Sunrisers. They have pretty hot cheerleaders to. Key Players + Show Spoiler + All-rounders Moises Henriques (australia) Karn Sharma (India) Ravi Bopara (England) Laxmi Ratan Shukla (India) Kane Williamson (New Zealand)
Batsman Shikhar Dhawan (India) Lokesh Rahul WC David Warner (Australia) Eoin Morgan (England) Kevin Pietersen (England)
Bowlers Ishant Sharma (India) Dale Steyn (South Africa) Bhuvneshwar Kumar (India) Praveen Kumar (India) Trent Boult (New Zealand)
The IPL starts on 8th of April with Kolkata Knight Riders Vs Mumbai Indians and I can't wait. I'll try and update this thread a bit more depending on how I feel and if there's much interest. Untill then keep cool and stay calm.
If anyone wants to write better descriptions of the teams or add or change anything feel free to post and I'll change it.
edit: Only just noticed Pune are in that banner. Maybe I better look for something more recent.

Right here we go Umesh Yadav bowling the first ball of IPL 8 to Rohit Sharma.
edit: Aaron Finch caught in the second over by Yadav of Morne Morkel. Mumbai are 8-1.
Apeal against Rohit next ball, umpires not interested. The early pressure is on the Mumabi batting.
edit:2 A bit of good hitting from Sharma and a boundary from Tare propel Mumabi on but Tare is caught again by Yadav this time of Shakib Al Hasan. Mumbai are 37-2.
37-3. Patan takes Rayudu in the slip same over.
edit 3: Slow middle overs but Mumbai are putting their foot down now. Corey Anderson and Rohit Sharma forming a nice partnership. Rohit Sharma has just lofted one up and that was dropped. That could costly.
edit 4: Some really good hitting from these two and a reasonable target is reached. 168-3 (from 37-3) Pollard not needed. Morkel droped Anderson in that final over. KKR had a couple of opportunities put down and really should have punished Mumbai and restricted them better. 168 is probablly only par though. The pitch looks good.
edit 5: Robin Uthappa has gone. KKR 13-1 from 3
edit 6: 49/1 after 7. KKR ahead of where mumbai where.
edit 7: Manish Pandey has gone but 40 off 24 is more than a reasonable contribution. Kolkata 98/2 from 12 overs are more than in control. Mumbai have to take wickets if they want to win this.
edit 8: Mumbai taking wickets. Gautam Gambhir caught of Jasprit Bumrah bowling. Kolkata should have this in hand but there's just an element of doubt entering into it now.
The inconsistent Yusuf Pathan is the next man out to bat and he's not hanging around hitting a 6 of his first delivery.
edit 9: Malinga will bowl the final over so Kolkata can't leave it to late. I expect to see some swinging at the next 3 overs.
edit 10: 3 6's and 20 total from that over send the 60,000+ purple fans at Eden Gardens crazy. Mumbai can't wait for the final over, Malinga's coming back now and he's been put away just the same.
This games over.
Kolkata Knight Riders beat Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets in 18.3 overs

Woah, so there's this before CPL?
That's awesome!
|
CPL is the Caribbean Premier League?
I watched a little of that last year. Seems to have anice atmopshere and some good action. No where near the excitment of the IPL but more fun to watch than english cricket.

Delhi Vs Chennai
Albie Morkel gets hit for 3 fours of the first over. But Brendon McCullum is caught in the second over off Nathan Coulter-Nile's bowling.
26-1 after 2.
edit 2: Chennai really going for it with an agressive start. pilling on the runs but losing wickets to. Coulter-Nile aiming straight and true and smashing Raina's stumps as he completly misses one. 38-2 after 4.
edit 3: Dwayne Smith lofts one up and is caught.71-3.
edit 4:Nice catch from Shreyas Iyer right on the boundary gets rid of Du Plessis. Chennai have slowed down a little bit. 105-4 after 13. Chennai should get a good score here.
edit 5: Delhi are taking wickets now. really starting to restrict chennai. 120-6. It looked liek Chennai would blow delhi away earlyier but they have just lost too many wickets and are struggling now. 120-6 @ 16.4.
edit 6: MS Dhoni hit s a couple of erm interesting 6's before getting caught in the final over. he's pushed the score up to a slightly more respectable total. Chennai score 150.
Gautam plays a poor shot and caught by Bravo. Ashish Nehra finds the edge of Agarwal's bat in the same over. He's on fire. 20-2 after 3. Delhi starting of more cautiously but losing wickets all the same. Chennai might have a new hero in Ashish Nehra.
du Plessis takes a good catch and that's the end of Shreyas Iyer. 40-3
After 12 Delhi are 82-3. They need 69 from the remaining 48 balls. Should be doable.
Kedar Jadhav steers a simple catch into the hands of Ravindra Jadeja. 88-4.
Yuvraj Singh at the crease now and the equation is 54 from 36 required.
Bravo is dnacing and with good reason he's just got Singh who only scores 9 runs. 2.57million dollars/9 isn't good value for money. Lets hope he scores a few more next time out.
JP Duminy chops on and suddenly Delhi are batting themselves into trouble.
Morkel chips one just agonising over MS Dhoni and gets 4 for it. If that had gone to glove this game could have been over.
30 from16 required.
Boom! Coulter-Nile misses it completely and Ashwin removes his middle stump. Delhi really making this hard for themselves. 123-7.
Now 27 needed from 12.
Suicidal run off a bye on a wide ends Amit Mishra's contribution with the bat. It does at least get Morkel back on strike. He's got to hit at least one boundary of the last two balls for Delhi to have a chance.
19 needed from the final over sounds like too much to me. Morkel is the only real batter left. Chennai have this unless Morkel (who already looks really tired) plays some amazing stuff.
Outside edge for 4 is a great start to the final over. 15 from 5 needed.
Second ball is a single and puts Tahir on strike. That's a disaster.
Tahir has a swing and lofts it up to Suresh Raina who has safe hands. Probablly game over but Morkel is back on strike. 3 balls left 14 required.
Smash Morkel hits that one out of here. 8 need from 2.
Suresh Raina is a hero on the boundary and saves 2 runs. Morkel gets 2 from it retains the stirke. The equation is simple now. Morkel needs a 6 from the final ball.
Morkel swings again and it's up in the air. The balls not got the legs and falls about a meter short of the boundary. He only gets 4 for it. How did delhi screw this up.
Chennai Super Kings beat the Delhi Daredevils by 1 run (or alternatively the distance short of the boundary that final ball bounced)
Chennai Super Kings 150/7 Delhi Daredevils 149/9, no cigar Delhi.

Rajasthan Royals looked to be struggling. But 46 off 33 from James Faulkner near the end got them to a respectable total.
Kings XI Punjab Always looked to have the run rate in hand but just kept losing wickets. In the end they ran out of batting and fell a good way short of the required total.
Rajasthan Royals beat the Kings XI Punjab by 26 runs

Just got home in time to see the end of RCB Vs Kolkata. What drama! Something like 40 needed from 20 when I joined it Chirs Gayle smashing ball after ball away to the ropes most of them way over the boundary. Gets himself stupidily run out and leaves the RCB's lower order to finish the game of with less than a run a ball needed. It was tense for a bit but they get home with and with an over to spare in the end. Chris Gayle finishes with 7 4's and 7 6's 96 of 56 balls. Once again a legendary big hitting performances.
Apparently gayle was dropped early on. An expensive mistake.
Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 3 wickets with an over to spare

Chennai Super Kings 209/4 Sunrisers Hyderabad 164/6
Chennai Super Kings beat the Sunrisers Hyderabad by 45 runs

Delhi make a good start batting at home against Rajistan. Mayank Agarwal scoring 37 of 21 balls. The loss off his wicket has slowed down Delhi though and they are 51-1 at the end of the powerplay (6 overs)
Shreyas' Iyer 40 from 30 balls was an impressive performance from a young Indian I've never heard of before. 98-2 after 12.
A bit of good finishing and Delhi get to 184-3. More than respectable. But Delhi are the masters of losing from a winning postion.
I was half watching Rajasthan bat half watching the F1 Grand Prix so I missed a lot of this. It looked like and exciting chase with lots of runs needed off the final few overs and lots of wickets been taken but Rajasthan got home in the end (needing 3 of the final ball and getting the boundary they required.
Delhi 184/3 Rajasthan186/7
Rajasthan Royals beat the Delhi Darevevils by 3 wickets
I'm going to watch the Manchester Derby in the football so I won't be watching the other game this afternoon.

RCB Vs Hyderabad
Bangalore into bat first. Gayle and Kholi at the crease looking good. 39 of the first 5 overs isn't spectacular but not losing any wickets and there's so much batting to come.
NO! Chris Gayle is caught out.
hmm 77-1 half way through the innings looks a little slow. But we have the power to finish
Karthik is gone for just 9 of 11. But more importantly AB de Villiers has come to the crease.
Oh no, Kohli has missed it completly and is bowled. Ravi Bopara gets the wicket but that was more Virat missing the ball than a good wicket for Bopara. they all count though.
Fuck sake Mandeep is out for a golden duck. De Villiers is been left to do it all on his own or not at all.
93-4 after 12.
Bopara is on a hatrick.... doesn't get it.
De Villiers caught but it's over the boundary that's 6! Lets make sure we get hold of these properlly de Villiers
110-4 after 14. A bit of a knife edge. De Villiers can easyily pile on the runs. But we're short on batting now and his wicket is vital.
Sammy tries to join in with a big swing miss the yorker completely and he's gone too.
125-5 off 16 overs. We really need De Villiers to go hard and keep going to the end. This is a small ground and we're just not getting enough.
14 from that over. We need a few more like that or better if possible. We aren't going to get a really good total here but the mroe we can get the more pressure it puts on Hyderabad's batting.
148-5 with 2 overs to go.
it's all over now really. De Villiers put on a good perfromance but the chance of getting out just increase more and more as he trys to push on. We're 152-6 with 8 balls left. That's very unlikely to be enough on this ground.
Abbott's out as well now. 152-7.
All out 166. 1 ball left. The lower order didn't do at all bad really. Got a few away to the boundaries only missed one ball. But it's not enough. Slippery ball in the jew short boundaries Hyderabad should get home easyily really. Here's hoping they screw it up some how.
Already going badly. 16 of the first over. I might just give up and except we have lost and just enjoy the Sunriser cheerleaders.
So depressing 36 after 2 overs.
End of the power play 65-0. Are bowling (admittedly in bad conditions) has been awful.
Hows that!!! Yuzvendra Chahal gets David Warner LBW. We need a fair few more of those to have a chance.
Kane Williamson stumped by Karthik and draws a very slight ray of hope.
Hyderabad just cruising home now. 30 needed from 31.
Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 8 wickets

Rajasthan Royals Vs Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians 26/0 after 4. But Aaron Finch has been carried of the field with a suspected hamstring injury.
Now Parthiv Patel lobs one up for an easy catch. 26/2 effectively
31-1(2) after the power play.
Rohit Sharma edges one off Stuart Binny's bowling and Mumbai are in real trouble now. 31/2(3) in the 7th over.
Tambre bowls Unmukt Chand. 45-3(4) at the half way point.
Pollard hits the first 6 of the game at the start of the 14th over. That's telling alone.
Hits one of the final ball of the same over. Mumbai 74-3(4) after 14.
Corey Anderson is cuaght out. But there's a question whether Dhawal Kulkarni's foot is over the line and he's bowled a no ball. I think Mumbai are going to get the reprieve and the free hit. And indeed they do. The free hit doesn't disappear.
Some hitting from Pollard and Anderson making the score repectable.
They've done really well to get to 129/3(4) after 18. Two big overs to finish and they might have a chance of defending their total.
Pollard caught on the boundary by Karun Nair of a Tim Southee ball. His 70/34 has changed the complexion of the game.
Andersons missed one in the final over and been bowled by Chris Morris 50/38
Corey Anderson and Kieron Pollard put on a show and really saved Mumbai there. 164/5(6) is respectable but probablly not enough.
Unimpresive start in reply from Rajasthan losing Sanju Samson and 33-1 after 5.
Rajasthan cruising now 84-1 after 12
Looks like I've missed a wicket. Looks like Ajinkya Rahane has perished.
Who's this Hooda fellow? Smahses a 6 second ball. And then anouther one 3rd ball!
7 off a Lasith Malinga that ends with Deepak Hooda's stumps flying everywhere. A quick check for the front foot no ball but the umpire and for some reason Kieron Pollard have raised thier fingers and given it out. Hooda's inexperience perhaps leads to a walk back to the hutch as he can't get his bat down to Malinga's yorker. There's more to come from that 19 year old kid.
52 required from the final 5 overs.
Mumbai bring back Malinga to try and shut the run rate down a bit. But Steve Smith is just to good. 2 boundaries and 2 of the third ball and he's got 10 of 3 balls against one of the best bowlers in the world. Really good batting. 4th ball is an outside egde which is a moral victory for Malinga but it still goes to the fence.15 off that over.
141-3 after 17 Rajasthan are almost home, very impresive and sensible batting.
Rajasthan Royals beat the Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets in Ahmedabad

I don't think I am playing Fantasy IPL right. I've got 927 points and the leader has over 5,000.

Dehli Daredevils Vs Kings XI Punjab.
After the first 6 it's 41-1 and we have lost Murali Vijay.
73-1 after 10.
Delhi can't buy a wicket. And having lost just the one KXIP can start taking risks and pilling on the runs.
I'm going to take personal credit for that wicket. i say they can't buy one and they get one next ball. Amit Mishra bowls Wriddhiman Saha out. 105-2 after 14.
Glen Maxwell out for 15 of 5. my fantasy team failing again. 131-4 after 16.
I've missed a couple of wickets. 143-5 Punjab are losing a bit of momentum. But if the last couple of overs go a bit, this will still be a good score.
Last over only goes for 3 with 3 wickets Delhi restrict Punjab to 165. But Dehli are the least likely team in the league to get that very getable target.
Shreyas Iyer gets out of shape and flicks one off to Third Man where he's caught just shy of the boundary by Anureet Singh. 24-1 after 3.
Punjab 47-1 after the power play
Crazy goings on Mayank Agarwal thumps the ball straight Axar Patel (the bowler) dives for the ball and Axar Patel trys to dive over him to get in his crease. I think the ball hit the diving Patel before striking the non strikers wicket. Many questions did Duminy get his hand (he lost his bat) down in time. Did Axar Patel delibrately get in the way of JP Duminy. What a mess. when they finally managed to untangle Axar Patel and JP Duminy the decision was out. JP Duminy walks. A really unfortunate runout. 56-2 after 8.
69-1 halfway through Dehli's innings.
Gay. I've lost my stream and can't find anouther one. I'm sure Dehli will find a way to lose it.
Right I'm back with the game. Delhi have bascially won 7 needed of 11. And Yuvraj Singh has picked out the fielder. Still 55 off 39 is a good consistent contribution.
Oh here we go Mayank Agarwal has just been bowled next ball. Anureet Singh right on the limit of whats a legal delivery with his front foot. But 2 wickets from two balls whilst i have been watching.
2 new baters at the crease. Anureet Singh on a hatrick just 7 required from 8
Taking their time with this. Kedar Jadhav managing to get himself out before Angelo Mathews finally finishes it.
Dehli Daredevils beat the Kings XI Punjab by 5 wickets.

Hyderabad Sunrisers 127-5
Rajasthan Royals 128-4
Rajasthan Royals beat the Hyderabad Sunrisers by 6 wickets (game went to the final ball)

Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings in Mumbai
Lendl Simmons and Parthiv Patel will open the batting for Mumbai. Ashish Nehra with the ball. A good attendance, Mumbai fans desperate to stop the rot and not lose their opening 4 games in a row.
And it's not gone well. Patel has gone LBW on the 4th ball. 1-1. Looked like it was missing leg stump to me. Potentially quite a harsh decision.
Ashish Nehra takes the wicket and Ishwar Pandey bowls a maiden. Leaving Mumbai Indians 2-1 after 2 overs.
Bad going to worse for Mumbai. Corey Anderson is caught by Francois du Plessis off Ashish Nehra's second over and second wicket. Mumbai 8-2.
Lendl Simmons picks out du Plessis perfectly he doesn't move more than a yard. Harbhajan Singh is coming out at number 5 and Mumbai are 12-3. What the hell is going on? They are going to cause a riot if they keep batting like this.
A glimmer of hope witha couple of boundaries from Rohit Sharma. Mumbai struggle to 31-3 after the power play.
Ms Dhoni drops a tough one, no time to react of Harbhajan's bat, Mumbai are 53-3. They look to be stabilizing a bit. 9 overs gone.
Harbhajan Singh is caught by Ravindra Jadeja off Mohit Sharma. 62-4 at the halfway point.
84-4 after 12.
Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard mounting a dramatic fight back with some serious hitting. Rohit Sharma has to depart wtih 50 from 31 caught by Bravo. That leaves Mumbai 132-5 after the 15th. Mumbai could actually get to a reasonable score if Pollard can stay in and keep getting them away.
Pollard gets his 50 and takes Mumbai past 150 too. 51 off 21 is some serious hitting. And he's not done yet. 17 off the16th. 3 overs left and Mumbai have the pedal on the metal.
17th is great over from Dwayne Bravo that only goes for 5. Pulling back the hitting slightly for Chennai. 160-5
Consecutive wickets from Dwayne Bravo take the two big hitters Kieron Pollard (64-30) and Ambati Rayudu (29-16) Those two along with Rohit Sharma's impresive 50 (50-31) when everyone else was losing thier wicket for nothing drive Mumbai up to an incredible (considering where they where) 183-7. It's a good pitch though and Mumbai have reduced bowling options. Lets see if it's enough.
Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum open the batting for Chennai. Smith gets a boundary off the final ball of the first bowled by Pawan Suyal. Brendon McCullum hits an amazing 6 into the DJ's booth and anouther boundary to boot off the Slinger Malinga in the second. Malinga's final ball is a peach but just misses the wicket. 18-0 from 2.
21 year old Jagadeesha Suchitch to bowl the third over. A hell of a responsibility. Smith hit's his second ball for 6 over long on. And the third goes for a 4 down to point. 11 off it in the end.
Malinga goes for 21 in the 4th. Chennai are 50-0 after just 4 overs.
Chennai are out of control. Mumbai are been hit all around the park.
Jagadeesha Suchitch disappears for 22 in the 5th. 72 without loss.Smith and McCullum are just putting them away.
There's no end to it Harbhajan Singh comes on to bowl and the first 2 go to the fence. Rohit Sharma manages to put his shoulder out diving for one. The last thing Mumbai need after losing Aaron Finch in the last game. 3rd ball goes to the fence as well, all three through the offside. 4th is cut down to fine man for anouther boundary. 18th of that over. Dwain Smith makes his 50. Chennai Super Kings are 90-0 at the end of the powerplay. Mumbai Indians where 31-3!
Brendon McCullum getting impatient comes down the wicket and ramps the ball over is head (Dilishan Scoop) and it goes for 6 behind. This brings up CSK's 100 in the 7th over.
Brendon McCullum (46-20) loses his wicket caught by Vinay Kumar on the fine leg boundary off Harbhajan Singh's bowling. Suresh Raina comes out to replace him.
Then we lose Dwayne Smith (60-32) again off Harbhajan Singh's over. A spectacular innings from Smith. The run rate is below 1 a ball now though. So as huge as those wickets are for Mumbai Chennai should get home comfortably. Francois du Plessis and Suresh Raina have all the time they like to get going.
128-2 after 10. I'd say half way. But Chennai won't need 20 overs for this.
Malinga finally strikes. His trade mark yorker got through under Francois du Plessis' bat. MS Dhoni comes to the crease amdit loud cheers of his name. 146-3 after 13. The equation is now 38 off 42 required. Any kind of remotely sensible batting from Chennai should get them home.
I've missed MS Dhoni's wicket. he only contributed 3. But it's not going to matter.
Chennai Super Kings beat the Mumbai Indians by 6 wickets, 20 balls remaining

Rajasthan Royals 191-6
Ajinkya Rahane played a spledid innings for 74 off 54 holding the spine of Rajasthan togther with Shane Watson. Rajasthan seem to have got the art of sensible cricket down to a tee. Nothing to show stoping or and not always going for the big shots. But scoring heavily through just considered good shots away to the boundary.
Kings XI Punjab Are smashing away in reply. we should get a good close game hear. Punjab are scoring fast but they have a lot left to do and they have already lost 4 wickets. 138-4 after 16.
David Miller starting get stuck in, smash, smash, consecutive huge sixes off the end of that over.
Wriddhiman Saha takes a tumble and manages to direct the ball onto his own wicket. His 19 off 8 injecting the needed speed into the innings but he would have wanted to help see them home.
40 off 18 needed David Miller and Axar Patel at the crease.
Miller smashes another one.
32 from 15 needed now.
And another one chipped away for 6 again . If Miller stays in Punjab win.
And he's gone. David Miller didn't quite gets a top edge and is caught by Stuart Binny just short of the boundary. Mitchell Johnson comes out now. 2 new batsman at the crease. I'm not sur ehow much Mitchell Johnson can bat bu they still need to go for it. Because there is 25 needed from the final 2 overs.
Chris Morris bowls 4 excellent straight balls and trys the slower ball but Mitchell Johnson reads it and plays a delicate one down through third man. 11 in the end from a very good voer from Morris.
Punjab now need 14 from the final over. James Faulkner is the man with the ball.
Bad ball low fall toss but Mitchell Johnson doesn't get it away and they get just 2 off it. Second ball goes for 2 as well. Mitchell Johnson just getting back with and incredible feat of atheltism diving at fall strech across the line. Third ball is just a single. they where there to be hit but Mitchell Johnson couldn't get them away. 9 from 3 needed. This has to go to the fence for Punjab.
Punjab don't run fast enough for two but Steve Smith's throw is bad and they just get home. Very similar thing happens on the penultimate ball. The throw isn;t good enough and Punjabe make 2 runs when they weren't there.
So 5 is needed from the final ball. 6 to win. a 4 is a super over.
And it's smashed away for the boundary!!!
After 20 overs Rajasthan Royals 191-6 Kings XI Punjab 191-6
The match is tied and it's super over time. A bit of poor fielding in that final over from Rajasthan. They should be home really.
<<<SUPER OVER>>> KXIP: 1: David Miller is bowled first ball! 2: Just a single 3: No ball. Over waist hieght no ball hit away by Shawn Marsh. 4 runs 3+: And the extra ball goes away for another boundary. 4: This one goes over the bowlers head and down races away through the onside for another 4 runs. 5: dot ball 6: LBW plumb, not given. Punjab run 1 and are run out on the second but that doesn't matter
Kings XI Punjab 15-1 off the Super Over
Axar Patel will bowl.
Rajasthan Royals Shane Watson and James Faulker to bat
1: Shane watson bowled first ball! 2: Steve Smith puts it to the fence and it's a no ball too (sounds familiar) 2+: just the single 3: Faulkner misses it completly and is stumped behind. That's it you're only allowed 2 wickets in a Super Over
Rajasthan Royals 6-2 (all out)
