Some players get the reputation as coach-killers. Bargnani could be a GM killer if his agent suckers a team into giving him a big contract. http://espn.go.com/newyork/nba/story/_/id/13355566/the-phil-files-part-7-final-evaluations

The salary cap just might go down after this current deal is over. In my local market, Time Warner is losing money for what they paid for the Dodgers. Maybe the Lakers as well. The sports industry isn't affected yet because many have long term deals locked up but they won't get these kinds of deals again if the cable industry loses money on the current round of deals.

I hear barely a mention of the shitshow that's going to happen in the 2020s that will affect all sports. Disney's stock lost 15%+ the past week mostly because of ESPN. Investors have finally wised up to the fact that the majority of cable customers are not sports fans and said customers are not happy paying $5 for ESPN. I'm reading from more business oriented sites that the current TV deals (including the one the NBA just signed) may be the last of their kind. Sports are just not the draw that the industry thought they were and many cord cutters are actually interested in cutting sports. The salary cap just might go down after this current deal is over. I think it's too early to tell if that Disney selloff was sports related. I think it's just reflecting a deeper shift in the media landscape. For instance, Fox and Viacom took much bigger hits on the ticker this month and Netflix has made huge gains. In any case, these are media giants, I suspect they'll pivot one way or the other. The Time Warner/Dodger deal was just shoddy business, that was a horrible overpay on the spot and the distribution has been an embarrassment - probably because SportsNet LA is too expensive - leading to basically a local blackout on games. I might agree that most cable customers are not sports fans - but that doesn't mean sports' broadcasts aren't some of the most valuable rights in entertainment.

Seems like a good service at $90 vs what will prob be like $300 (if I'm lucky) for league pass this year. hey man, you in australia right? i usually split league pass with a friend, who finds some cheap indian subscription for $150, so $75, we can simultaneously watch it (on same account) without either getting kicked off.

I cancelled mine today, and in the cancellation options it doesn't even list blackouts or bad coverage. The only reasons you can put are things like loss of interest or you don't like the interface (which is shitty, but still not the reason.)

I have the money, love the product and am willing to pay more but what they're offering is garbage. The only reasons you can put are things like loss of interest or you don't like the interface (which is shitty, but still not the reason.) i find the PC interface so much worse than Playstation. i basically stopped watching league on my pc now because it lags so hard, especially for VODs, fast forward and rewinds takes longer than the 10 sec you want to rewind and kills the quality. playstation works sooooo much better, although it's about 15 seconds behind...
