we are entering draft season ladies. what days we thinking? anything but Labor Day weekend would be kosher most likely. I'd prefer a monday or something so I have an excuse to get drunk and yell at tonight on a weekday

And can we talk about if we are doing .5 PPR? because I would be down for this. Auction I might need to be talked in to. And are we keeping the bid system for waver wire?
i'm down with sunday as long as it isnt over labor day weekend. just need a heads up on the date!
for other things:
i'm down for ppr, but not something i care strongly about. I like FA bidding a lot actually. Congrats on being right about something for once, DK! I don't care for auction.

I'm not a particularly huge fan of how things dropped in the first two rounds for me, but I'm not sure that there's much that I should have done differently. God knows my last two first round picks (AP in 2014 and Beastmode in 2015) didn't do shit for me. To get some traction, I'm going to need some RB's in front of my late picks to go down (looking at you, Carlos Hyde and Latavius Murray).
1. (1) Odell Beckham Jr. WR 2. (24) Demaryius Thomas WR 3. (25) Randall Cobb WR 4. (48) Ryan Mathews RB 5. (49) Jeremy Langford RB 6. (72) Matt Jones RB 7. (73) Marvin Jones Jr. WR 8. I hope I do not regret picking OBJ over AB. My reasoning is that Big Ben gets hurt a lot and that situation was horrible at times last year. Also I am a Giants fan so that is a plus. My running backs are a serious concern, and I hope that I at least strike gold on one of them. Jared Cook was also a gamble, but I think he might fair well in GB. I expect GB to have a bounce back season this year. We'll see. Overall i feel good about my wide receivers, i am seriously concerned about my RBs though.
Just the extra catches alone I would think Brown gets an extra 15-25 pts since we are .5 ppr. OBJ prob has greater TD upside.
COCKKNOCKERS 1. (4) DeAndre Hopkins (Hou - WR) 2. (21) Devonta Freeman (Atl - RB) 3. (28) Jarvis Landry (Mia - WR) 4. (45) Matt Forte (NYJ - RB) 5. (52) Delanie Walker (Ten - TE) 6. (141) Tyler Eifert (Cin - TE) 13. (148) Chris Hogan (NE - WR) 14. (165) New England (NE - DEF) 15. (172) Chris Boswell (Pit - K)
I like my starting roster. Not as crazy about my backup situation outside of Brown and Smith. Woodhead is at least ok for us since we are PPR. I will probably flex one of Brown, Smith, or Eifert each week.
Yahoo's ratings like my team, but also seem to think I have one of the weakest QB tandems even though I have two Top 5 guys from last year. Hmm.
Round Pick Player Position 1. (7) A.J. Green WR 2. (18) Mike Evans WR 3. (31) DeMarco Murray RB 4. (42) Russell Wilson QB 5. (55) Melvin Gordon RB 6. (66) Ameer Abdullah RB 7. (79) T.J. Yeldon RB 8. (175) Dan Bailey K
not too excited about my rb's but my wr's i'm happy with. tajae sharpe and michael thomas have potential to be huge sleepers if i hit on them.
So most of you guys are pretty good and I'm in a shitty situation, requiring some help. Another money league I'm in is doing a live draft this Sunday (who the fuck does Labor Day drafts?) at 4 EST and I can't make it. Someone want to step in and draft for me? Will provide my espn account info and all that. I'd ask my football friends to do it but they're either in the league or they also have plans like normal people... ;]
I don't get why every fantasy outlet is hating on Gordon, as if he isn't going to immediately pass the clowns ahead of him on the depth chart in week 5.

That's one helluva boom/bust team.
Why thank you, going to need watching and researching to make sure each week's line up is solid. Not super confident in Hyde or Shepard but AP and Big Ben should help secure weekly points. Had to pick up Houston and Fuller for the hometown support.
So I have an odd league drafting in 45 minutes... No kickers with IDP instead (CB only). With this scoring:
Tackle Solo 2 Tackle Assist 1 Sack 3 Interception 3 Fumble Recovery 2 Defensive Touchdown 6 Pass Defended 1 Turnover Return Yards 10 yards per point
CB is going to be pretty worthwhile, yeah? Leader for solo had 65 last year; total 81. PD leader had 26 last year.
Am I right that this is basically an extra flex spot in terms of scoring? So thinking I can target as early as 6-7th (QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, W/R/T, DEF, CB, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, IR). Also, a few names of who to take? There are a whole lost of 1st or 2nd year players sitting atop the list from last year.
Playing in a 12 man league and got the 9th pick overall, which kinda sucks because you miss out on a lot of good people and still get shafted snaking back up the line.
9. Allen Robinson (controversial, because DeAndre Hopkins was still on the board) 16. Mark Ingram 33. Jordan Reed 40. Thomas Rawls 57. Golden Tate 64. Emmanuel Sanders (All DEN WRs draft stock fell in my draft, at 64 I had to pick him up) 81. DeSean Jackson 88. Charles Sims (was very happy getting him at 88) 105. Willie Snead 112. Tevin Coleman (good handcuff for Freeman, who started to fade near the end of the year) 129. Kirk Cousins (I'm a believer, so I thought this was a steal in round 11) 136. Texans D/ST (also thought this was a great value pickup late in the draft) 153. Graham Gano 160. Brock Osweiler 177. Jerick McKinnon (second handcuff if anything happens to AP) 184. Dorial Green-Beckham (this could be a really good sleeper if Carson Wentz can actually throw the ball)
In hindsight, I am still 50/50 on Robinson vs. Hopkins. We'll see how it shakes out, but I couldn't go wrong either way. Not sure what to expect from Ingram-- just missed out on Doug Martin but could've taken Eddie Lacy instead. Rawls at 40 was probably a reach considering Matt Forte and Latavius Murray were still on the board, but Rawls' upside is legit if he gets enough carries. Happy to have gotten an elite TE in Jordan Reed; time will tell if I reached for one. I think Golden Tate at 57 could be surprisingly good considering Megatron's retirement, but that depends on whether Stafford is ass. Sanders at 64 is again pretty good value imo.
I'm pretty content with the back half of my draft, especially if either AP or Freeman get hurt. Coleman and McKinnon are very capable backups.
I hope you are 2wr league no flex, otherwise I think you're gonna be in trouble in a 12 man non ppr with 3WR.
Picks 1 & 2 there wasnt a huge difference based on what you said. And I think there are arguments for the guys you picked in those spots.
3-5 are all reaches. Reed is good, but you def could have had in the 4th or even 5th. He's at least elite at his position You probably just left someone else good on the board by doing that.. Rawls doesn't even have a lock on the starter spot. I'd be hard pressed to take him over those other two options. Could be total hit or miss, just like Tate.
Sanders, Jackson, Snead, and Cousins are all good value picks though based on where they were in the draft. Cousins is probably the only one of those picks that has a chance at being top 12 at his position, but still good value none the less.
You just have a lot of risky picks. WRs are basically 1 WR1, and a bunch of guys who are more WR3s or boom/bust types (Jackson). You are basically fucked at RB if Rawls and Ingram don't pan out, since everyone else is a handcuff. And two of your three top 3 picks are perpetually injured.

Yea i'm kicking myself for not taking Murray > Rawls. I hadn't kept up with the offseason news from Seattle, and didn't really know about his ankle surgery. Michael was also picked up later in the draft which kinda blows for me. Oh well, I'll figure something out and make a trade if need be.
I lost Allen in a different league and have zero depth on my bench to replace or to trade. 14team league so I don't have much to target on the waiver wire.

for my WR2/Flex on Sunday. Standard format. Leaning towards starting Snead and Tate, although Jackson and Wallace are tantalizing.
Also thoughts on starting Cousins vs. Flacco? Either could have a big game. Problem with starting Cousins and/or Jackson is that Reed is my TE, so starting 2 or 3 redskins is super risky, as last week showed.

I'd be inclined to started Snead, Wallace, and Flacco. The Browns are shit tier, so the Ravens should have a huge game against them.
First time playing fantasy football, my team stunk it up last week (like Marshall and Peterson turning in 3 points each). Figured I'd ask for advice for the 2nd week to hopefully avoid going in the hole. I need to make a decision for a RB and a RB/WR flex, standard scoring. Available players: Adrian Peterson, Jeremy Langford, Jonathan Stewart, Jeremy Maclin, and Will Fuller. I'm thinking Peterson for sure, generally plays well against the Packers. I'm thinking Langford or Stewart for the flex. I have Langford in now, but a bunch of articles I looked at seem to really like Stewart this week.
Philip Rivers or Kirk Cousins today? I'm feeling Cousins because I'm hoping he'll have a bounce back kind of game and Rivers did just lose his best receiver.
yeah, but I figure it's rare to have a guy with top 5 at his position potential land on the WW, so I took a stab. I did $17 because I figured 10-15 is standard for a bid to get a dude, so I figured someone would do $16 for sure hahaha.
My plan is to horde all the TEs until someone trades me a RB. But Freeman is being less of a piece of shit this week. I will probably end up flexing one of my TEs a lot. Eifert is gonna be good when he gets back since Cincy is totally incapable of running these days.
Yeah well I started Peterson and Stewart both who din finish the game, and a bad looking injury for Peterson. Gronk still not playing ... Antonio Brown was bad .... my good looking team is bombing badly. Well I still got Bell, Brady, and Gordon coming back from suspension... plox save me.

are you in a 4 man league or something??
I lost Keenan Allen and AP in my one league and I still might start out 2-0. This league starts 2WR and a flex; .5 ppr, .1 ppc, and bonuses for plays over 40yds:
QB: Carr, Brady, WR: Landry, Snead, J Brown, Sanders, M. Thomas, Tyrell Williams RB: AP, Gordon, Yeldon, Coleman TE: Reed
Since it is 2WR I can def flex one of those guys weekly and be ok, but I will really need to trade for a RB if AP is gone for any length of time.
It's an 8 player league, with everyone else having a huge aversion to suspended and injured players. I was able to get Gronk in the third round cuz of his injury, jokes on me he probably won't play until week 4. I got Bell in the 5th, at that point I pretty much had to take him. Overall, it's a fail of a team, the only early pick I'm getting anything out of is Antonio Brown at 1.2, who as I mentioned bombed in week 2 after being my only good player in week 1. Though Brandon Marshall was ok in week 2, and thankfully he avoided a serious injury.

Foley, it looks like Snead is going to be a really solid later round pick ATM. I don;t think Wallace holds up as a starter but still he's useful
Yea, I may think about trying to trade him for high value, especially if he has a good game at JAX, which is conceivable considering how porous its D was against the Chargers. Luckily for me, I have Theo Riddick, Tevin Coleman, and Charles Sims on my bench as handcuffs. Depending on how serious Martin and Abdullah's injuries are, those two could be very valuable. Coleman has shown value already.
Melvin Gordon is a juicy target, especially considering Woodhead's ACL tear. Gonna have to give an arm and a leg for him, but I have some decent pieces for a trade. It helps that the guy who owns Gordon, starts Jordy Nelson and Tyler Lockett at WR, with Moncrief and Tajae Sharpe on the bench. He's also currently flexing Antonio Gates which is kinda desperate. Not a lot of depth there. Might be able to throw in a WR+RB for Gordon. We shall see. No one in my league (12) likes to trade until like week 5-6 though, which is kinda saddening (although probably intelligent).

Yeah but Gordon's owner would have to be a retard to part with him now that they're down their #1 WR and his 2 real threats at RB. You will pay a hefty premium right now.
Is this still accurate?:

If so, you really don't have many good WR options, and I think Snead might end up leading the Saints at WR. That, and due to injuries, you hit the lotto at RB wth McKinnon, Colmen, and Sim haha.

What positions do you start again??
Nah I dropped DGB, have Mike Wallace. Dropped McKinnon and picked up Theo Riddick. Dropped Sanders and picked up Flacco. Dropped Osweiler and picked up Tamme (TE)
hahaha wow I def did not think Freeman would pull it out. I was playing soccer last night, come by to check on my phone at half and I see 3 Coleman TDs. Thought I was done
on that note, I got all the TEs: Walker, Eifert (coming back this week or next), and Barnidge. I'm basically gonna flex one of those guys most weeks since they're all high target or high TD TEs.
Looking for another good flex player, or up for packaging with another player to upgrade a position further.
yeah at this point I doubt it as well. I am pretty positive he's toast for the Browns and for the year, though I will probably try to hold that spot as long as possible just in case.
I didn't need him (I have Nelson, Cooper, and Benjamin in a 3WR league) but he would have made for a stud flex spot. As it stands, my bench players are pretty much all duds:
QB: Bortles WR3: Nelson, Cooper, Benjamin RB2: Gurley, Bernard TE: Reed WRTFLEX:Yeldon BENCH:Michale Thomas, Ajayi, Alfred Morris, Fitzpatrick, Eifert
Yeah... ouch. Eifert is basically my flex going forward. And I am really not too crazy about Bernard and Yeldon rotating as RB2.
neg, that is what is screwing me up. I missed Forte by a few spots in this league otherwise I'd have been golden. I've gotta go win a bid for someone now.
I got offered Stafford and Maclin for Carr and Devante Parker, logic being that I have Brady back. I think I am going to counter and ask for Gore and Maclin for the same duo. .5 ppr, + minor bonuses for breaking 100/300yds, and 40+yd plays. Starters:
Brady Landry, Sanders, Gordon, Coleman Reed J. Brown
Bench: Snead, Carr, Yeldon, Dwayne Washington, Parker. IR: AP (lol. I picked him and Allen 1&2, RIP)
I think Parker is a WR3 at best, and I have 2-3 of those already. I think Brady will out play or at least break even with Carr going forward, and I don't wanna carry 2 QB, so I am inclined to move one.
His team: Stafford Jones, Crabtree Freeman, Gore Walker Deandre Washington
Diggs, Eifert, Z Miller, Maclin, Doug Martin, Arian Foster, Dion Lewis
Considering you picked up Howard who put up 23, shut your yap Jayson. It was great seeing the Lions win. Living in NC, we gotta go out to watch the Patriots game, and these two obnoxious fucks were rooting for the Eagles. What a way to comeback just to shit the bed. Almost as bad as the Chargers today.

Then why even propose the trade if you think it wasn't fair to you lol. Oh yeah, that's right because you cant judge based on 5 weeks of information and that trend is unlikely to continue/ OBJ will have better games and will likely be way more valuable down the stretch. Reed and Eifert are both out for me this week, and I need to drop one of the following for a TE: Ajayi, Michael Thomas, S Ware, Kerley. I am thinking Ajayi is only supplanting Foster if he goes down for the year, and even then bleh...
RBs in addition to above are: Gurley, Yeldon, Bernard WRS: Cooper, Nelson, Benjamin. Coleman (IR)
We've had several questions about Ty Montgomery being eligible at RB. He only qualifies as a WR for now. We will update if that changes. Please refer to the Packers' official roster below: http://www.packers.com/team/players.html
lol
also if i lose this week, i'm going to hate the universe.
Whatever. Top 4 all lost. Still pretty crazy. Bryant and Matthews saved your ass in addition to your opponent to playing someone who was listed as out.

I actually loled and my wife now (still) thinks I'm crazy. I saw you needed a TE and only had $5 so I put a $6 bid on him in the event you'd try to pick him up ^_^

hahahaha
god i got fucked last night real good, played cooper and ware in my big $$ league =[
Even if he did his normal "projected score", you still had a better chance at beating me lol... david johnson couldn't play in the rain - it was pouring cats and dogs here in Miami yesterday lol, and cooper bombed this week again
So, I'm in the semis in 2 out of my 3 leagues and they're both coming down to DJax. If he does well in the TL league I should win (depending on Crowder) and if he does well I'll lose in my other league.
