Everyone else is playing for a spot.

edit: it was 9 field goals, but he was 22/31 which is only 71% which is terrible for an NFL kicker let alone someone you traded up to the 2nd round for
he was 4/11 for kicks 40+ yards

That is disgusting! Bucs have got to be hating themselves for that hahaha.

According to Football outsiders (at the time the pick was made) it was terrible for 3 reasons:
1. No NFL kicker has ever been worth a 2nd round pick.
2. Predicting college to NFL for kickers is essentially random.
3. In the only metric that does translate, Touchbacks, he wasn't good.

At least he made some money. Time to retire and live a life of ease.

the Janikowski pick is obviously the other crazy one. I've seen the extremely stretch justification for it which was that the raiders missed going to the playoffs by missing a field goals and they believed that all they needed to be a super bowl team was a better kicker. it's also said that they allegedly "knew/assumed" the bears were going to take Janikowski in the 2nd so they pulled the trigger.
but in all seriousness there's really no way a kicker can be worth more than any depth player/starter you could pick up in the early rounds regardless of your team and the Bucs definitely were not a team that was a kicker away from winning shit

Aguayo claimed by the Bears. DREAM BACK ONLINE
kind of funny coincidence Bear's kicker is Connor Barth, who Aguayo replaced in Tampa after being drafted

That is funny, unless you're Barth, I'm sure he is not laughing.

They even have the texts she sent her friend asking her to lie to the cops about what happened to say he was hitting her. Which is why he never had charges pressed against him, because all the evidence against was garbage and/or made up. Zeke with no evidence against, no charges pressed, evidence actually supporting his innocence gets 6 games initially Ray Rice gets 4 games with video evidence initially Josh Brown admits to abusing his spouse gets 1 game initially The other two ended up with harsher penalties after huge outcry and we will see what happens with the appeal for Zeke. But seriously 6 games is fucking ridiculous in this case. Big fine and 1-2 games at most even then, he was cleared as innocent by the police already, shouldn't really have any suspension imo.
The entire point of the NFL's policy is to show the players that Goodell is boss. Ray Rice initially got the suspension he did because he appeared with the Ravens' general manager and team owner to kiss Goodell's ass. Being "cooperative" with the NFL has more bearing on the severity of the punishment than whether the player committed murder or merely shoplifted.

as a casual Bills fan i like the moves they are making. the drunken mob of Canadians i go with to Bills games will show up whether they're 0-10 or kinda sorta contending for a playoff spot... so the Bills might as well just tear it all down.

This is not a good sign before the season starts
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska lost promising freshman Jaevon McQuitty to a season-ending knee injury and two other receivers have missed practice time, blows to a position group that already was a concern entering the season.
Coach Mike Riley said Thursday that McQuitty was hurt during a blocking drill this week. Riley said Keyan Williams had a "good hamstring pull" and would miss two weeks. JD Spielman is day-to-day with a pulled muscle.
The Cornhuskers lost three of their top four receivers from 2016. Stanley Morgan Jr. and De'Mornay Pierson-El combined for 53 catches and are the top returnees. No other receiver had more than five receptions. Source

This Saturday will be Jaylon smith's debut for the Cowboys. For those who don't know he was a top 5 sure fire draft pick from Notredame up until his bowl game when he blew out a knee as bad as you could. There was even nerve damage. There was thought for a while he could never lift his foot, which wouldn't allow him to even play.
The Cowboys drafted him near the top of the second round and now we will see if there gamble pays off, and more then that if Mr. Smith can not have his promising career (not to mention the millions) lost by a freak injury.

I watched Jaylon Smith single handedly obliterate my college team so I am pretty scared of how good he could be
|
I hope he does. Or at least gets to a second contract. Seems like a good guy and hard worker that had some terrible luck.

Id root for him more if he was on any other team but it's kind of conflicting with him on the cowboys
