The reason for the long healing period is due to the screws they removed and the bone needing to fill back in the area not the recovery of a tendon. we don't know how long the tendon will take to recover. All you can do is go through the rehab process 1 step at a time and hope the tendon returns to something close to its pre-injury flexibility and strength.

Kyrie's issue wasn't the tendon though, it was the tension wire put in to help his fractured kneecap heal and the infection around the screws. Unless Luck had something similar put into his body I just don't understand why you are comparing the two.

+ Show Spoiler + That first half of the season is pretty brutal. Hell, the Niners could go 0-4 to open.

I'm also upset that NE vs JAX got a 4:30 game in Week 2 while SEA vs CHI got SNF. Why would you not put the AFCCG rematch (which was an amazing game last year) in primetime....

Unless Luck had something similar put into his body I just don't understand why you are comparing the two. Kyrie Irving has more than 1 problem with his left knee. One issue you correctly identified in your post. wall of text about Irving's 3+ year history of tendonitis in his left knee. + Show Spoiler + i'll repeat myself in my previous post. Boston stated he had tendonitis in March 2018 in his left knee. Boston has not retracted that statement. When you've been battling tendonitis off and on for years it doesn't just disappear in a week. That continued to be the reason for his absence for 1+ weeks. Now, a DR may incorrectly assess the causal factor creating the inflammed tendon but not the fact of inflammation itself. Kyrie Irving has had tendonitis in that left knee off-and-on for 3+ years. He'll probably be battling tendonitis in that left knee for the remainder of his career. The left knee tendonitis problem began BEFORE he broke his knee cap and BEFORE any hardware was placed in his knee. He probably had tendonitis before actually missing time for it. Irving has missed playing time on several occasions in the past 3 years for left knee tendonitis. http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2015/05/mri_results_reveal_tendonitis.html THe common thread between a baseball pitcher's rotator cuff issues, Luck's labrum and rotator cuff issues, Leonard's quad tendon and Kyrie's knee tendon is that tendon is slow to heal due to poor circulation. The rotator cuff is a capsule of tendons. Tendons suck man. Circulation is bad and so healing is slow.. and tissue regrowth is even slower because the supply of oxygen is low due to poor circulation. Andrew Luck's surgical procedure means he requires tissue regrowth. I hope Luck can play again, but based on what I've seen from baseball pitchers with his problem he has a rough road back.

Quote from a Peter King article I thought you would appreciate. "I think this is the definition of fan loyalty: Since midseason 2016, the Nebraska Cornhuskers are 6-12, including losses of 62-3, 56-14, 54-21 and 56-14. On Saturday, they drew 86,818 paying customers to see their spring game."

Those losses hurt to see on national television and rank among some of the worst ever for the program (hyperbole but we were just outcoached). Frost is hopefully going to change it all for the better and we'll be back ranked up top like Nebraska should.
