Cowboys Niners Packers Redskins How do you see the Redskins making the playoffs, in any capacity? I don't think they will, but I wanted to pick the roughly four non-playoff teams who were most likely to get in this year despite being out last year. The Redskins seemed like the best fourth team to include from the NFC. They have been chronically mediocre and have a legit quarterback. No one would mistake them for being a title contender, but they certainly are good enough to challenge for a playoff spot, particularly if a few things go their way during the season. Looking around at the rest of the NFC non-playoff teams, I don't think any of them have a better shot. Seattle just dismantled their defense. Arizona was not a good team last year, and now they are without Arians. The Giants aren't good. The Bucs are going to get buried in the NFC South. Looking at the NFC North, you can make an argument that the Lions are better than the Redskins and more likely to get into the playoffs, but the Vikings and Packers are both much better teams and may very likely 4-0 the Lions. Think about it this way: would you rather play the Eagles and Cowboys twice each or the Packers and Vikings twice each? I think I'd lean towards the former.
If I was going to rank the most likely teams to make the playoff this year from the NFC after missing last year, I'd probably go Packers, Niners, Cowboys, in that order, with Redskins being a very distant fourth. I think that the Cowboys should be better than the Packers and Niners, but their schedule is going to be harder than the Niners and Packers' schedules.

I would take the lions over the redskins any day
The only problem is that theyre the lions, so Im probably wrong

DE Adrian Clayborn to the Patriots.

Hell yeah that's a great pickup. Pats also get Jeremy Hill, decent 4th RB.

Great? Pretty medicore or worse. All his numbers were one game against a shitty cowboys back up tackle when garrett refused to help him! (6 of his 9.5)
|
Better than the current Pats pass rush so it is great in that respect.

That is more sad the n great, pray for some help in the draft!

He had something like 54 pressures and 34 qb hits last year which blows away anyone else on the team, so yeah its a great signing. Pats have a "rookie" coming off ir all last year and Hightower coming back. Defense is solid with everyone healthy and if bill uses them....

Well the Jets just gave everything and the kitchen sink to the Colts to move up three spots...

Maybe I have always just considered him a draft bust and he's better then I think. I do know his stats were super inflated from the Dal game and he slowed down as the year went on. Maybe the pats can rotate him in only passing downs and he could be better.
I'm sure they will be solid, when was the last time the pats were bad? The only thing that could/will stop them is when age finally catches Brady. I also think Gronk is pretty brittle so I would be more concerned with the offense.
But if history tells us anything they will be a threat and their div is pretty Garbo so they should get 5 easy wins and one mystery loss from those 6 games.

Well, that confirms that the Jets want a QB. Smart move for the Colts. The players that they'll want/need will still be there at 6 with all of the QB demand.
|
Smart play from the Colts, they don't need a QB and they have so many holes.
In coming the Giants or the Browns Fleece the Bills to jump back ahead.

I agree, such low risk for them, I'm shocked they got him for so little. It is really odd because that division has been so bad for so long but man it looks nasty this year. If Luck comes backs and the colts are even decent that could be the best division in Football.

The real winners of the Colts/Jets trade are the Giants. They can now command a king's ransom from either the Bills or the Broncos.
|
Lol Jets come on was that really necessary?

dear god if matthew slater leaves the pats i will legitimately be concerned.

They are very clearly entering a bit of a retooling phase and will likely take a step or two back next season. They’re still going to walk into the playoffs as a consequence of their decrepit division, but they are on the decline. It remains to be seen whether Brady is still around when they come out of it.
