Hey guys so I was wondering how long are you going to play the campaign w/o sleep from the minute you get SC2 until you cannot stay awake any longer. I know myself I am not going to sleep until i have beaten the campaign so hopefully I am among the majority and not the minority!
P.S. to mods before you close this poll, I think its a fun topic that much of the TL community will like to see where they fit into when it comes to being an SC2 gamer.
Poll: How long will you stay awake to beat it?However long it takes to beat the campaign (58) 44% 1-2 hours after purchasing (34) 26% 2-4 hours after purchasing (25) 19% 5-6 hours after purchasing (16) 12% 133 total votes Your vote: How long will you stay awake to beat it? considering nobody knows how long it is or how many cut scenes there are, can't really give a time estimate. Also, why rush through it? The game has been in development for like 10 years, whats the point of crushing single player? I'm going to thoroughly enjoy all of it from the loading screen to the end credits.

I'm not going to sleep at all.
Playing SC2 through the night~
|
Did they actually say when it's available to play? Like.. do people in Eastern Time really get to start playing SC2 3 hours ahead of Pacific Time people? Not to mention all the people that are already living in 7/27.

Ideally, I'd like to stretch out the campaign over the course of a week or two while simultaneously doing multiplayer.

the people saying however long it takes to beat it are: 1) crazy 2)liars or 3) not going to enjoy the campaign to its fullest.
Campaign is supposed to take 20-30 hrs

Campaign is supposed to take 20-30 hrs 20-30 hours? Really? Wow, I'm even more exited now than I was before... But I'm still sticking with my answer though, even if it takes 40 hours to complete the campaign - then thats a sacrifice I am willing to make.

Games nowadays are usually 20 hours minimum. Starcraft 1 + Brood War would take more than 4 hours even if you cheated (power overwhelming anyway, not cow level, if you wanted to hear all the mid-mission dialog.)
I would be surprised if people finish it as fast as they think they will. I don't pretend to know any details regarding how long the game is, but typically the only games that are as short as some people seem to be expecting are indie puzzle games. I doubt it will take any less than 15 hours to beat.
To answer the question though, I'll be powerplaying it for sure. Might split it up in to 2-3 sessions depending on how long it is, but I'll have it done before the weekend. Maybe even twice. I'm also an achievement whore so if it takes more than one playthrough to get all the single player ones, it will be done.

I want to enjoy the single player experience, but I want to finish it fast because multiplayer is the real priority.

2-4 hours after getting home with it.
The 28th is my girlfriend's birthday, so I'm driving to her school to visit her on the 27th.
But I'm not that interested in campaign, and I played in the beta, so I fall into the "I'm paying to get a game I've been playing for 2 months" category.

wow.
Yeah I'm grabbing it at midnight downtown, coming home with and armful of energy drinks and playing 'till it's done. Then maybe and hour of online before I collapse.
