I just got an email with the following information. I pre-ordered with standard shipping rather than the 2 day shipping. Anyone else get similar messages? Will it really be that late? Tempted to cancel and do digital order...
We have received new release date information related to your pre-ordered video game in the order you placed on January 14, 2013 (Order#XXXXXXXXXXXX). The release date for the video game listed below has been changed by the publisher, and we want to provide you with a new delivery estimate based on the new release date:
"StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm" Estimated arrival date: March 18, 2013 - March 22, 2013
We will make every effort to get the delayed item(s) to you as soon as possible. If there are other items in your order, they'll be shipped according to the delivery estimates listed in the order details in Your Account (www.amazon.com/youraccount) at no additional cost.

Does this mean that Blizz pushed the HOTS release date back? March 18th now?

that's unlikely since they have already planned all the release parties I think in Australia, they are giving out the EB games preorders on that day along with progamer's signing.
I believe that standard shipping is 5-8 days if I am not mistaken. Which would technically be correct since the game is not released until the 13th. When i ordered mine from amazon i selected 2 day shipping and as of now it is still supposed to be delivered day of release. Sucks for you though ;;
On the plus side, the time it takes to deliver a package is an unofficial indicator of a recession or recovery. Think about it this way. At least the economy is getting better since there's so much package traffic!
I've ordered it with free shipping because that also comes with release day guarentee if it's ordered early enough anyway, and my delivery estimate is still March 12th by 9pm. That's not US though.
My order is in US with 2-day shipping and the delivery estimate is still "Tuesday March 12, 2013 by 8:00pm". I ordered it 1 year ago, maybe they are shipping on "first come first get" basis?

Because its easier and you get if faster when buying from Amazon or Digital? At WoL Releasedate I bought it at a Store and only thing happened was that I met another one who bought it and we smiled at each other... thats it. :D
I had major problems with Amazon (UK) with both Diablo 3 Collectors and Mists Collectors, so I have produced a two-fingered salute and bought the digital deluxe this time to save myself the pain.

Like someone else said it's because you selected standard shipping. Usually though their estimates for standard shipping are off for me and I always get my products earlier than when Amazon predicts.
Usually if you pre-order about a month or two in advance you can select release date shipping for only $1 (In the US anyway) and that's what I usually do for pre-orders. That actually works great, even though on release day Amazon usually says my item hasn't shipped yet. Always gets here on release date though.
Should I cancel my order if it is going to take until the 22nd to arrive ? It makes a lot more sense to get it from Blizzard, because I can get it tonight. I feel bad because I preordered due to their beta key give away, but it is going to take too long to arrive

As of 30 minutes ago I was able to cancel my Amazon order and purchase digitally with Blizzard.
It had its expected arrival at March 22-April 3rd.
I ordered mine in November and had the release day shipping and they now placed my delivery date at Mar14th... I don't understand how these companies can drop the ball like this on orders that were placed so far in advance... The only reason I didn't go virtual was because I wanted the CE. Well what can you do....
My Amazon delivery was going to arrive on the 22nd, and, despite assurances from friends that they always overestimate the amount of time it would take to get here, I decided to cancel my preorder and go with Future Shop. It's already shipped and is expected tomorrow.

The Amazon delivery date is always weird when you preorder games. I have done it for every preorder and it always gives me a weird date, but shows up on the release date. I wouldn't worry about it folks.

I lol'd. When I preordered halo 4 I got a message the night it was released saying my shipment would be delayed by a month, and I have never ever received game from them a day before release, best has always been on release day.
Gamestop on the other hand had my hots shipped to me last friday and it was has already arrived.
I pre-ordered on Amazon. On the one hand, the estimated delivery is March 12. However the status says it has not been shipped yet, and tracking information is not available. So unless they overnight it, I don't see how it will get to my house in time . I haven't received any emails about late delivery, though.
Its 17:20 here in UK and my order from Amazon was still not dispatched, so I have canceled and just bought the game over Battle.net. I do not have work tomorrow so no way I am missing out. Sucks not to have the box but I would rather play! This is the first time Amazon have ever let me down.
My order still hasn't been shipped out yet, and I preordered 2 months ago, plus chose 2 day shipping. I'll give them a few more hours, if nothing changes, i'll cancel and buy the digital deluxe version on battle.net.
Edit: Ended up canceling it, ordering Digital Deluxe. :D
I just checked my Amazon order (2 day shipping) and it left the seller facility in Nevada this morning at 10 AM. It's set to deliver by 8 PM tomorrow. I'm on the West Coast US for reference. Good luck to the rest of you!

I used to be like that, but they've been a day late on my last 2 orders in the last 2 weeks (including Sim City pre-order). I don't know what to think any more, I always trusted them to get me things on time. AND I'm Prime. though the client chat guy assures me HotS will be delivered by tomorrow, but it's not yet dispatched.

Just received an email saying that HotS has shipped and is expected to be delivered tomorrow. My faith in Amazon has been restored. Have some patience guys.

Really? Eh... They were spot on with my WoL and SWTOR CE's but that was a while ago. Sadly I can't rely on GAME now either as they delivered my last three games four days late. So idk who to order with now if amazon mess up with HOTS CE (even paid the extra for "before 9am release date)
Edit: Money has been taken for it, but no dispatch yet.
I'm in California. My copy was shipped today at 2:46am, left the Phoenix facility, and arrived in California at 2:04pm. I am hopeful that I'll get it tomorrow morning when my company gets its usual morning shipments.
Charged (pending at least) but not shipped here in Maryland. It's 8:04 PM which is making it look pretty unlikely to get here on time. This is with Amazon Prime, so there should be no question of it being on time.
I have release day shipping, estimated delivery is tomorrow..but it still says shipping soon ;_; I just called Amazon support and they're confident I'm still going to get it by tomorrow. I still have my doubts though.

I'm on the US west coast, have two-day shipping (which is estimated for March 12, 2013 delivery) and mine also says "shipping soon". Hopefully they're correct =\

Same here for me (Delivery still says the 12th). HANG IN THERE! "Shipping soon" is better than "Not shipped yet" I guess. Still have the HotS party and Korea launch games I missed to keep me entertained until then
Update: Got a Email about 10:20pm saying it had been dispatched, then an email a few minutes later from DPD saying it is to be delivered later today (before 9am). Now I'm too excited to sleep FML xD
I actually called Amazon about this because my roommate had the same problem a few weeks ago. I was talking to the rep (who was absolutely awesome, I love amazon's customer support) and she said that the reason my Heart of the Swarm order was due to arrive at 8:00 pm est on March 12th and his wasn't set to arrive until the 18th was because I was a Prime user and am guaranteed day of release delivery (sweet! didn't know that!). She did say that the until 18th was more of a "blanket date" and that it would most likely arrive either the 12th or the 13th due to our proximity to the nearest Amazon warehouse! I hope this clears this up for you guys!
Yay for Amazon UK, I'm sitting here excited to get my CE box for HotS tomorrow morning, I even took a day off work specifically for this and they decide to email me in the last minute just to tell me that it'll be delayed until the 14th.
Anyone knows where in London I can get a boxed copy tomorrow?

Weird, mine has been sitting at a DPD sorting office since 00:20am in Birmingham, I'm about 3-4 hours north in Durham, and its ment to be delivered before 9am, so if it just hasn't updated and it will turn up, or it's deffo not getting here in 2 hrs from Birmingham lol.
WoL was quite cheap in germany at release, dropped to 35€ or so and went up after release to 49€. Took a few month till it dropped back to 40€. Went to 20€ last week due to the release of HotS. As long as WoL & HotS are still vivid games and the release of LotV didnt happen i dont think it will drop below 40€ anytime soon.
But in regards of global play there might be a way to get a cheaper international version somewhere. As a german resident you might want to check amazon.co.uk as they deliver to germany and are usualy 10 to 20€ cheaper than amazon.de.

As other people have said it's likely because of your shipping method.
Amazon shipping can be really strange. Any time I pre-order anything from them I get release day delivery for like $1 and sometimes the item gets to me before Amazon even says that it has shipped.
if you guys dont get it by tonight [3-12], call up amazon and tell them you paid for it and it was guaranteed to be release date. and you didn't get it, and you're very upset with them. tell them this is a well known pc game and it shouldnt be happening as its not something rare.
be firm and police, and they will offer you store credit i did this for halo4 CE, and managed to get about $59 in amazon.com store credit
I stopped using online pre order for games since Amazon delivered a game to me 2 weeks after release. I went to Game and bought it for the same price, which is what I will do today
Normally they're really good with pre-orders here in the UK, but a work collegue has just been told he won't be getting his copy until Saturday. Go on the website now though and they're offereing guarenteed next day delivery for an order placed today. Pretty poor.

I currently live in Germany and I order anything video game related from amazon.co.uk, they're almost always way cheaper than amazon.de, shipping isn't expensive, and no, you won't have to wait a long time. It takes like 3 days and sometimes they even ship it from Germany.

Hmm... I pre-ordered mine ages ago and it was shipped yesterday and I'll have it today. This doesn't seem right at all..
If any of you lucky souls that have the game, mind sharing a pass with me, im literally dying having to wait for this game.. PM's make me a happy person ;]
^^Someone get this man some HotS!! I preordered from Amazon. I live in Illinois. The tracking order says ETA in 3 days, but it is already in my hometown and I'm sure it'll be here today. The ETA date; as mentioned a couple times in this thread, seems to be a safe guess from Amazon. I'm sure in case of fanatics (all of us) this safe ETA guess saves their customer service some major headaches.

I hope you're right, because mine still says "shipping soon" :S.
My order finally shipped, but won't arrive until tommorow. E-mailing amazon resulted in a $20 credit, which is nice I suppose, but i'd rather have the game timely. Anyone who's delivery estimate changed from March 12, 2013 to any other future date, I would contact Amazon, regardless of whether or not you plan on cancelling or returning it.
Lol. I just got my estimate as april 1st... loooooooooooooooooool. Uh, well. I guess I'll go buy a store copy and give the amazon one to my brother when it comes. lol.
Just got mine today as Amazon promised! However, I'm very perplexed... why with the hard copy do I still have to download 200 some megabytes? I thought part of the benefit of getting the CD was to play it quicker without having to straight out download the whole game?
edit: When the installation kept freezing up, I searched online for what was going on. For everyone who bought the hard-copy but had launched Wings of Liberty in the past couple weeks, you already have the game installed and patched up. The CD is worthless other than activating the key on battle.net. Just run your usual SC2 WOL shortcut and it will automatically update to HoTS.

Most likely due to the content on the disc going out of date between manufacturing and shipping it out.
EDIT: Throwing my hat in the "shipped today" pile. I went for free shipping, though, so 5-8 business days for me. Hopefully I'll get the sometimes 2-day shipping that Amazon pulls off sometimes.
I don't even know who would buy this game on amazon on release date. What's wrong about pre-ordering on your local gaming store, or just buying the upgrade on blizzard website?
It's not like the case has any fancy stuff to collect nor anything.

For me amazon.de delivers on time at home or at work, usualy even 1 day ahead. Local gamestore might run out of stock and i have to drive by car to get there.
I dont want to buy at blizzard since they used to need credit card information and since ps3 hack i dislike giving my info to game developers. Mate said they accept paypal nowadays tho, didnt knew that beforehand. Besides depending on location amazon.de/.com/co.uk might be cheaper or more expensive, some ppl care about that as well.
Well, I live in a big city and the gaming store is a mile away from home. I just went there on a weekend and reserve a game for $5. I got the game as soon as I could.
I, like a lot of others, ordered thru Amazon to support TL. I had an email about the delay on the 12th so, right away, I canceled my order and got the digital download. A literal five mins later I was playing hots.
Amazon was on point for me I came home from work yesterday and that shit was waiting for me on my porch 30 mins later I was crushing nerds and stealing there ladder points Edit: of course digital download is better but like others said I did amazon to support TL, I would probably still be in gold league without this site
