OMG, that is an awesome plane haha. I think blizzard is really excited about starcraft 2 as an esport in korea.
|
Does that mean a bigger prize pot for sc2 tournaments?

No. It has nothing to do with sc2 tournaments (at least in those articles) They're just advertising partners.
|
nVidia, interesting.. Fast food..? I don't know where they are going with that..lol Airplanes, Effort has one, very cool marketing technique, this totally owns the Pokemon airplanes in japan
|
Oh no, please don't tell me SC2 will be yet another nvidia "the way it was meant to be" games. It's 5 seconds of my life wasted every time in enough games, let alone SC2. My ATi card has no problems rendering every game.
Korean Air is not surprising after the interview with the CEO's daughter.
|
I really hope this isn't the extent of their super exciting hype.
|
Now how can you miss that?
|
That is so baller....
No marketing plans with any major company in America? I am going to predict...Burger King...

Imagine that Iron Man commercial with BK, but instead it's Raynor.
That, would be interesting.
|
hahaha no way, that's bad ass
|
That plane. It cannot be real. Holy -crap-. Oh that this too too solid flesh would melt and resolve into a dew.
Awesome.
|
Plane looks pretty sick. Thumbs up!
|
Fuck yeah. With my progaming earnings, I'll buy a plane just like that and pimp it.
|
Milkis man, props for all these news translations you keep bringing us.
|
Awesome looking plane! Imagine if they did that on an American Airline plane or something in the US, now that would be cool.
|
I'm flying on Korean Air this year.
|
Every Blizzard employee gets one free korean plane after a year!
|
|
Wow thats pretty sweet, I really like how blizzard is creating a lot of hype and hope for a great game before the launch which can then carry on afterwards, instead of trying to hype up the game after the launch.
|
Nice, we really need some higher res shots though & more shots in general
|
pretty fuckin epic plane right there
|
EDIT: oops double post from back button
|
Ah man that is so sick!
Haha I can't wait to go buy myself a Starcraft meal at Lotteria! :D
|
ho ly shit
that is fucking awesome
|
Damn. That would be tight to be able to ride on of those. I wonder if they redesigned the interior at all. (Latest SC/SC2 matches on screens? Marauder's "KABOOM BABY!" when you flush the toilet?)
Mm.
|
So using that picture next time I see a (insert game here) vs Starcraft debate.
We have a fucking plane. A plane! What the fuck do you have???
|
That is so epic. Starcraft plane FTW.
|
I want to ride in it.. So Badass.

The lotteria thing reminds me of blockbuster film promotions, will probably have little raynor toys and other cheap, plastic crap.

Blizzard would have cared before the merge :'(

It's a great move. I imagine Korean Air gets paid a decent bit for that big of an advertisement, so it ends up offsetting the cost of sponsoring the tournaments while giving them even more positive PR.
|
haha wow, those planes looks so badass
|
Starcraft sponsored food? I'll have the:
"You wanna piece of "Meat" Boy" special: McZealot Burger with some Zergling Nuggets, Popcorn Banelings, Hot Muta Wings, Stalker Fries and a Strawberry Mothership Shake...
would you like to go 3/3 upgrades for 30p extra?

You do realize you can delete the intro videos to just about any game right?

"hi, I have an opinion based on absolutly nothing except the fact that I can obviously see through the corporative bullshit".
When you have facts on "how blizzard doesnt care", please let us know. Until then, keep qqing about nothign and everything.

Oh gosh I would die inside if they do that. And don't they dare giving nVidia graphic card users any advantages graphics-wise or someway else...
But perhaps there is a little chance there won't be the "way it's meant to be played" crap in the intro as Blizzard doesn't seem to like long advertising intros either. If they're simply advertising partners I have no problems with it.

Activision-Blizzard is a company that seeks profit Profits increase when their games are sold The amount of games sold increases if their games are played competitive on TV for a lot of money Thus Blizzard profits and they're happy as simultaneously esports grows
They might not have the same intentions as the fans of esports but improving it is still in their best interest. No company as big and successful as Activision-Blizzard will ignore a long term chance to generate profits just because they feel like doing random stupid things.

Yeah, that's why Korea gets a daily/weekly/monthly pay plan for SC2 and WoW right? Because that's short-term profit and not long-term profit, right?

There were rumors last year that Blizzard was looking into building a Theme Park in Irvine CA. Considering that there is now a Harry Potter Theme Park it's not unreasonable to consider.
As for advertising and the "blizz wont make money from e-sports" consider this. During the World Cup soccer ball (football) and equipment sales increase. During American Football season and Baseball Season sales for those types of equipment increase.
It would stand to reason that Blizzard would increase sales during televised tournaments, along with the sponsors who's PC's and accessories were being used.

Yeah that is very sinister... That is the point of sponsoring big events...

Korean Air is not surprising after the interview with the CEO's daughter. You know you can delete that video file and it will skip over it. Or usually run -skiptomenu or a similar command to your .exe

this just appeard on digg! lots of sc2 stuff has appeared there.. hehe

For some reason I really wish that they made a giant hamburger that flew, with a video card as the pickle. Really would have made an interesting way to include all their partners :D

They're actually bringing this to life.

Why else would you sponsor tournaments? The entire point is to get your company's name out there and use the team as advertising, and it's not like any of the companies attempt to hide it.

advertising is the sorcery of this age. you have all been polymorphed

Their menu is sweet. I must say, "qnftoqjrjtpxm" looks absolutely delicious! And the Squidburger..."made with tatar sauce and a bonny cuttlefish"! Mmm, mm, good!
And don't worry about cleanliness, neither! One of their mission statements is to "Present immaculate and attractive sores environment"!
The marketing video is pretty great, too. Man, I can't wait for the Starcraft 2 promotion to start.
|
Crazy stuff. Definitely another step in the right direction in getting Korea on board with SC2.
|
This is on the main page? Kinda a repeat.
edit, i see this topic was posted first. oops still redundant having 2 topics on this. :S

Why are you arguing with me? I know that. People have been saying that there is no money in E-Sports so Blizzard wont support it like the community feels they should. I am pointing out that their is money in it. Seriously I thought I was pretty straight forward.

would be cooler if the plane was shaped like a pheonix or a viking

i wish we're flying in this aircraft when we go to canada next month.

Figured someone here could validate

That is the sickest plane I've seen.
|
Holy crap,
That's pretty impressive!
Is that going to be on every plane? (Maybe it's in the OP, just read all 4 pages in between)
*EDIT*
OP states that only 2 planes will be decorated like this
|
They should get in on the California license plate advertising too while they're at it (if it ever goes into effect)
