Besides, why deny others the chance to hit on krytos? he could use some loving too =P ---- yes, we are new, and we are still slowly making ourselves stand out as something different. Depending on your perspective, we might look like carbon copies of XYZ, we might look like lame noobs, etc. but either way, we feel it's too early to tell exactly how we will pan out. Please stick around with us if you think we are heading in the right direction, if not, well there is other food at the buffet =P I'm afraid some people aren't reading TOO carefully... but keep in mind, this is the first time Kitty is serious about an RTS, and she is learning alot everyday. Expect to see more from her down the road, but if you really want to see more kitty, please be patient, supportive, and constructive, it'll help us improve faster =) As Day9 said once, the most important think is to stick with it as a commentator - dont just do it a few times and give up because you dont feel you know enough etc. Especially in this scenario u guys got going, be prepared for a lot of jokes at your guys expense until you guys are a bit more comfortable and known. That said, stick around long enough and the jokes will eventually be out of liking u guys rather than laughing at you. Example - Day9 again. Alot of ppl make jokes about him, just last night ppl on his live stream were laughing and saying "hes such a goober" but honestly, Day9 is probably the most known and loved guy that plays this game lol. I wouldnt be surprised if he enjoys those kind of comments - and not just because he tends to be self deprecating lol... but it shows that just being himself shows his true colors and shows how passionate he is about the game. Which is the key to being an enjoyable and likable commentator. Hell it must take a lot of guts to be seen by thousands of people and be open about his stuffed bunny Manfred, lol. But do I think that hurt his image? Not at all. Did it set up some jokes? Yes... but I've also seen people talk of "ManfredX's Awesomeness!". So in the end, being real is a good thing.

This. HDstarcraft, husky and Day[9] pretty much fills all spots tbh. Day[9] knows most, Husky for enthusiasm, and HDstarcraft as a middle-ground. I prefer day9 because he really knows what he's talking about. If you want to commentate you'd better get some serious experience, I don't care if you have big cleavage or not.

1.IMO, I don't know if you really have the voice for commentary. Its a little grating and nasally to my ears. Maybe its the mic, maybe its nerves, I don't know, but the voice is one of a commentator's most important attribute, rivaling his knowledge of the game itself. You can have all the knowledge and aptitude about the game, but if you have an unpleasant voice (read CROTA), then you're not gonna draw in casuals, and the more hard-core people will just stick to Day 9. Also, Day 9 has a great voice. Its deep, resonating, with a nice slow cadence. I won't say to try to emulate his voice, because its nigh impossible to change one's own voice, but its a nice standard for what commentators (male) should sound like. 2. Your jokes = I was not amused. The samurai joke about zealots slicing people in half...... had me cringing. Don't attempt to force humor into the commentary, because it will always come off artificial and contrived. Unless it comes out naturally, its better to err on the side of professionalism (read HD) 3. Don't advertise it as a male female duo and not have the female speak. On your channel you have several pictures of you two together, but then on the commentary its just you. Either wait until she's ready to commentate before you try to break into the commentating scene, or just take down the pictures and remove the male/female gimmick.

I hope you are able to ignore stuff like that and keep going. Thats the best way to make them stop anyways. Good luck I'm pretty sure that the girl being there is entirely a gimmick to get more viewers. If a girl actually wanted to commentate for the sake of commentating, "girl commentator" wouldn't be in the topic of the post.
