is it possible you can change the color of the egg for an overlord that's being hatched? Say overlords have red eggs, whereas rest of the units have normal team color.
I know I and probably many other zergs hate going through the eggs to find which one is the overlords or even if an overlord was made t_t
Thanks That would actually be pretty cool, shit u could color every thing!
haha interesting idea. Unfortunately I don't think this is possible. All zerg units hatch from the same egg. Same model and textures, so I can't make them different depending on unit :/

I have faith though. Blizzard announced some great tools for SC2 at blizzcon, including that tomatoling that splashed a different color. So it looks like a lot of the limitations I have right now might go away once that sweet stuff comes out.

Haha sorry to say, but changing a few alpha channels is not enough to get hired by Blizzard anyone can do that, many have, just not uploaded it.
That said, yes this mod is very useful!

Thanks When macroing as Zerg, you can Ctrl + Click on the egg icons at the bottom of the screen to select ONLY the eggs (deselecting the larvae). Add those new units to a control group, eg Shift + 1. If you want to also make an overlord DON'T do it at the same time as your other units. Reselect the hatchery, select larvae again, and make your overlord(s) now (it's also convenient at this point to set a unique rally for your overlord). This means that you will never end up with overlords in your unit hotkey groups, and it's also easy to have interesting rally points for your overlords without endangering your other units.
I do the same with with any special units (eg mutalisks, infestors), so that my hotkey groups and rally points are always good.

I downloaded and installed using the Mac instructions and nothing happened, is it because I'm using the lowest settings possible for everything?

No if done correctly you will still see a major difference on all lowest.

Looks pretty awesome however I would be too afraid that Blizz would ban me.

Wow, this is so much better then default. On streams I always have problems telling apart zerglings unless it's a really high quality stream. It would be amazing if they would adopt this for tournament streams.

Chance is nearly 0.
Theirs tons of streams that use it ; and even Dustin Browder said its a cool Mod which they even consider using themself.
So like allways, Blizzard steals good ideas ; good Mods become parts of the game.
Not that its fundamental bad ; but its funny that Blizzard needs a crap ton of time to see obvisious stuff like this here (Team colors existed in RTS games for million years, changing the models to really reflect the colors isnt too far fetched).
Using this Mod should have an amount fo risk thats similiar to getting hit by a Alien mothership crashing on earth and directly hitting you in the eye.

Thanks! I don't think its ever an issue, no online tourny will look down upon you for having it or anything. Yeah, especially considering how spectators don't really know that you have it. It just changes the coloring of the units, and it only affects your own gfx, it doesn't actually change any real game data.
Alright thanks guys.

Yeah, Blizzard ALWAYS steals good ideas.
Also, since you're so prescient, why don't you go make a game and show us how a true expert does it that can see every possible good idea before it even happens. I can't wait for your game, I'm sure it'll make Blizzard's look silly.

Love this mod! always motivates me to keep playing

What do I do? There's no "Mods" subgroup!
Or is there something blatantly obvious that I'm missing?

Like i said, its not wrong ; you can steal whatever you want if its not protected by law.
As long as they do not sell it as there own idea i have no problem with that all.
But they should really give notes to were they got specific ideas like this here ; if its just implemented without any note i would be mad if it would be my idea ; you not ?
