I've never heard any major sports player talk about how players of a certain race aren't marketable enough and he wants more white guys on his team. traditional sports dont depend as much on marketability and fan interaction. athletes are given media training so they dont curse in 3 the question post game interview. theres a handful of them who play it up for the public cuz thats just who they are, but plenty of athletes make millions of dollars just by being good at their game and keeping their head down. esports isn't that big yet, theres just not that much money in it, and the taste of the community dictates where that money goes and they find people talking more interesting than people playing starcraft. koreans generally dont talk, so they're much harder to make money with. While I can see what your saying it makes sense but you need sources too back it up he needs sources? there isn't a study for this or anything, its just simple fact. NFL teams don't need to stream their practices to make money because revenue is shared through their league, and that is how they get paid. Teams don't have sponsors in the NFL, the league does and the revenue is shared.
If hot pockets sponsors MLG, EG doesn't get a slice of that money like it is in the traditional sports, that is why teams/players have to market themselves in order to stay afloat.
hope you understand. :D

Also, the folks on ITG were only responding to and providing their thoughts and observations on comments made by other team owners that week. They were not asserting that this stuff was fact or could not be denied, only that it made sense and could be a reason for the team owners comments. The players may have strong opinions and some good evidence to back them up, but they are were never saying it was undeniable fact.

Someone call in already and ask them about Proleague, how they see EG-TL's standing at the moment, what has been done wrong, what could be done better or differently, and whether Demuslim and Idra will still go to Korea to be part of it. After all they've been in the announcements and have been pickable players in FPL for all this time.

Just wanted to post that I thought IdrA saying David Kim was actually stupid crossed a line. Shots in the dark like that are petulant, inflammatory and pointless. I wouldn't even have minded that much if he ever actually backed up this kind of thing, but there's never anything solid, just "they're incompetent" or other non-committal and meaningless language that doesn't add to or create a discussion. Kinda disappointed someone else on the show didn't call him out on it, but I can see how they maybe thought it wouldn't be worth the time.

He's said far, far worse, and so have a lot of other people. Being surprised about that is a little strange, tbh.

Oh, cute. Bet you were dying for some real drama this week, guess this was all you managed to dredge up this time.
Hope you get some better material to work with next time.

I know, and at the time they were adequately discussed, and comments such as what was said tonight - and at other times - would have been, if not respectful, at least in context and appropriate to some degree. Hell, if you'd just mentioned what you said in this reply at the time, that is something more useful.
Taking a cheap shot because he happened to be mentioned is different and, from what I've seen, more common in recent times. You're not making a point or improving the show or identifying a problem within Blizzard that you think needs to be fixed, you're being dismissive and attempting to provoke a reaction from an audience - something which the StarCraft community already has far, far too much of. This kind of thing is forgivable in the heat of a game on your personal stream, or responding to personal attacks from faceless community members but when dealing with as high profile a figure as the balance director of the game I think it fosters an unhelpful us-and-them mindset which neither side is ever going to benefit from.
Giving criticism is important, and if you think the guy's doing a bad job, say as much, please, you and everyone on the show are important community mouthpieces. I'd just like to see something more in-depth, intelligent and helpful than "he's dumb".

I went back and rewatched Idra vs MC after watching ITG63, and I find it kind of weird that I don't seem to be getting that same atmosphere watching newer tournaments that I do when I watch old VoDs like that. It might just be because that was in the very early days of my SC interest, but does anyone else experience this?

WAY too much swearing/cursing for my taste. I am an atheist. But the language from djWheat is just disgusting. I don't understand how they can think they will be taken seriously when talking like that? I felt I was back in time during the show.
IdrA is probably the only one who speaks most proper English without cursing. On his stream that is another thing.
All in all. I really enjoy the show.

no one gives a fuck about your opinion on that. Dont watch it if u dont like the language. To me, ur behaviour is just naive and elitist at the same time.

I want a filter on TL that allows me to remove posts from my view that use specific words, like "disgusting" and "disappointed". I feel it would remove the majority of drama troll posts in these threads.

1) I said I enjoyed the show. 2) Commenting on the language is appropriate. This is their official thread. Sure I can tell them that. It would be totally foolish to make a separate thread just to say that. Up to them to change it or not of course. 3) I'm pretty sure other people care about the amount of cursing regardless of their religion. An educated person would usually prefer other adverbs than e.g., "fucking".

A word of advice, you don’t want to go down the path of “An educated people would use other words than ‘fucking’.” It is an argument that loses steam very quickly when you see how many extremely smart and educated people use that word all the time. Examples that come to mind are George Carlin and the Giant Bomb crew. I am sure I could come up with many more. The argument also makes you look elitist, even if you don’t mean to be. Really, any time you make the argument based on the idea that educated people wouldn’t do “X” or “Y”, it normally back fires.
